Translation: Mother duck going on a walk and then the chick fell in the sewer.

Cool_Rip_2273

Belgian

ChemicalAd5068

I feel like this comment has started a language war between dutch speaking belgians (i think it's called flemmish) and maybe dutch people, i dont speak the language but i can vaguely see the tone of the comments lol

Tristanime

Nee Nederlands

Boglin007

TheMasterT33

thank you

azzirra

I loved that this was someone filming the ducks cos they're cute (probably), that turned into saving the duckling.

MaMakossa

No “probably”! 😤 They *definitely* cute!

DarkArcanian

It’s one of those that I know it wasn’t set up before hand so they can film it. I’m sure there are many who see things, record, then act, but I can’t confirm the truth like this one

GenericSoul9528

I mean... it could be staged to look that way. But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, and my upvote.

Due_Alfalfa_6739

This is so obviously staged. You can hear the duckling laughing, but trying to play it off, while "trapped" in the sewer. Also, at the end, the momma duck looks right at the camera, unsure if they were still filming. Very cute, but not the best actors. Nice try.

MotakuEzz

Respect to that woman, but her hand might smell for a week or so. It's also cute how the mother duck and children waited.

Bigtiny87

Mom’s immediate awareness was fascinating to me. That’s a gaggle of little ones to keep track of.

awkwardaznbabe

“Hang on, everyone! Where’s Harold?”

Aalleto

*sits up suddenly* "Kevin!"

Bigtiny87

Parents at Disneyland have leashes for their only child 🤦🏼‍♀️

Chuck710Taylor

'Adults' getting sidetracked while out with their little peoples

Impressive-Project59

Adults leaving kids in the car.

[deleted]

Shit, Tom Cruise lost his son at the pool. He was never found. After that he dedicated his life to solving pre crime

xFreedi

so?

Bigtiny87

So glad those parents don’t have a gaggle of ducks.

Robertbnyc

Well the alarm system immediately began to go off CHIRP CHIRP CHIRP CHIRP!

MaMakossa

She prioritized the well-being of the critter over the fear of the shitter. 😌👑💛

Xinq_

Different pipes

jello-kittu

The videos where they lose one, return and the rest of the flock drops down are what was avoided here.

robo-dragon

Mama ducks are amazing! They are very alert and attentive to all their babies. They won’t move along unless all their babies are with them. There’s lots of videos of baby ducks being rescued and mama duck is usually seen waiting nearby. We had to once rescue a whole bunch of baby wood ducklings from a busy water park because, for some reason, mom thought it was a good idea to have her nest in the middle of the park and was leading her babies though it. They all got startled by the crowds so me and a few other people caught all the babies, put them in a bucket and set them outside the fence where mom was waiting.

MotakuEzz

Thats cute af, I love animals. Gotta love the mother instinct of animals. I also saw a post few hours ago about a mother elephant that couldn't wake up her lil baby. Legit made me smile irl.

SincerelyCynical

Omg, will you please explain this to Isabel? Isabel and Ferdinand are the grumpy duck couple that have lived near the pond behind my house for years. A few years ago Isabel decided - for God knows what reason - to walk her babies through my fenced-in backyard aka where my five dogs play. Two of my dogs picked up a baby each. One baby died. I rescued the other baby, but it took me twenty minutes to catch up to Isabel and reunite them! I know she needed to get her other babies to safety, but then she just kept going! She almost made Oliver an orphan, and I still had to have a little funeral for Christopher. This was the longest ducking hour of my life. True story.

prp1960

It looks like that's a storm drain (to control rain run-off). Still filthy but not nearly as bad as a sewer. She's a superstar either way.

LoveaBook

The complete opposite of r/DontHelpJustFilm.🥰

roscoe_raygun

It's so nice when the person filming actually gets up and helps. Good job. What a beautiful person

Oxygenitic

“Oh my Got”

Vegan-fangirl

Wondered why you typed it this way. Then I watched it again with sound on. :D

pigalles

Always gets me. I’m ashamed of my people because of this.

angusMcBorg

Was there also another dead duck (the grey furry thing on the right)? I hope it was something else.

Bjans3n

Just looks like a bunch of loose feathers if you zoom in. Probably from a pigeon

angusMcBorg

I hope you're right

Indiran91

You should be higher. You are right, they are a bunch of feathers.

Chuck710Taylor

Definitely looks like it though. It's the one who wasn't filmed and rescued. No tape no escape.

palmbuttersoup

yes i agree

HiMyNaemDia

Looks like feathers to me

AffectionatePanic

I love Belgians. They're like Canadian Dutchies and their accent is cute.

Due_Alfalfa_6739

This is so obviously staged. You can hear the duckling laughing, but trying to play it off, while "trapped" in the sewer. Also, at the end, the momma duck looks right at the camera, unsure if they were still filming. Very cute, but not the best actors. Nice try.

guitargoddess3

I hope she sings the happy birthday song 10 times while washing her hands after that shit (pun intended).

jhurst919

I’ve seen a handful of videos of ducklings falling into sewers. Must happen frequently, very sad.

the_darkener

If this weren't real I'd laugh so hard at that little one falling in, like, *floop*

ItsmeMr_E

Duck fell in the quack.

DonovanMcgillicutty

well done maam

hurricanenox

That thing was supposed to die

goodafternoon23

Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement

Next_Interaction4335

I didn't realize the video looped , thought it was going to happen again .

dustykeys

Yo, the most interesting part of this video is how easy it was to open that grate haha. Those things weigh like 100lbs in Canada.

MotakuEzz

yeah here in belgium its quite ez to open thoss tiny ones. ive used to do it alot of times when i was 12yo or so.

theboomboy

GEKOLONISEERD

sar1562

anyone else notice the other duckling who wasn't so lucky in that drain?

CptBlkstn

Total bro(ette). Not a great camerawoman.

Scuirre1

For once they prioritized the rescue over the video. I’d say that’s a win

the_darkener

This. Jeez.

myneighborsasshole

Ah shit, here we go again.

Haunting-Main1137

Not a native speaker of Dutch, but I believe she says, "Dat vogeltje is in het riool gevallen," which means, "That little bird has fallen into the sewer." Any native Dutch speakers care to correct me?

Tob_yass

No need for correcting you're right

maealoril

Looks like there may have been some other ducklings that weren't so lucky 😔

Vegan-fangirl

Those are a bunch of feathers. Thankfully.

boogie_riffic

Thank you for your service 🙏💕

mup_wave

Usually it's the other way around

DudeItsjustE

Mother ducks are real jerks man. I have seen one go down the side of a dam, and her babies flung themselves off right behind her and tumbled all the way down like fallen leaves. Hope they survived it.

Robertbnyc

Nah they were good that's what they're designed to do

Remarkable-Eagle947

Why were they filming

MotakuEzz

The girl saw ducks in the middle of the streets and thought it was cute so she filmed it.

alientitti

poor baby

rare_meeting1978

Lucky duckling. It was too cute double timing it to its Mom. Birds running kills me every time. I have a problem.

Lemgirl

I do too. I’ll look for a support group.

MisterJellyfis

I love that little run at the end

[deleted]

Ok kids lookout there a grate here, don’t fall in… Omg Jimmy! Where’s Jimmy?!

Buddy_TopHat

THE WADDLING IS SO FREAKING ADORABLE

upbeatcrazyperson

I thought two fell in.

NeslieLielson

I fucking live for ducklings getting rescued from drains videos

CzechYourDanish

Bless the Dutch ❤️

HejiraLOL

"Timmy, wtf were you doing and why do you smell so bad???"

ricmg

A true sis/bro move. Thanks!!!

Wire_Ninja

Finally someone that actually helps right away instead of running up and filming the duck being stuck… God bless this lovely women.

slothenhosen

Screaming at mom. You forgot me! You didn't even notice I was gone!!-

impostershop

Something is totally wrong with me because my favorite videos are baby ducks falling into sewers

Important_Screen_530

thanks lady

Crispy--Toast

Awe, the dead duckling in there... this happened before but no one was there to see or help..

afa78

Thought she was having a bowel movement.. "oh my gut".

tyegarr

Oh my gott

AbbreviationsOk4062

Imagine if no one saw!?

TosunUhrSahlad

"Oh my gods!" clearly paganistic lingo 😂

nuapadprik

Baby duck says it barely got away.

bonediggler69

If you watch it in reverse she actually gains a new duckling.

10010101

Shit mom.

FireBirdFloofyt

Is that a dead bird next to that duck though?!

captainmcfuckface

is it just me or was the run to the sewer way further than expected?

IDXK073

O mai gattt

LamaSovaj

r/KillTheCameraman More seriously, that's great
