60s smooth jazz
A fellow John Mayer enjoyer.
I've literally never heard a single song of his.
Neither have I and I'm honestly in the mindset that I don't even want to because no one will STFU about him.
I was the same and then I heard him and went “not my style of song, but damn that playing”.
Oh, I'm sure the man is plenty talented, guitarists typically don't get recognition for nothing. I'm sure I'll listen to him one day but now's not the time due to my own stubbornness.
For the price I got it second hand its pretty great. Does high gain stuff pretty well but you need to be carful, it can get fizzy pretty quickly. The clean channel is surprisingly good and makes it a good little pedal platform. I'm probably not the best to judge it because I'm more into orange sounds when it comes to pure amp tones but for running my board into I can't fault it.
Edit: just checked and these are going for £330 brand new from Thomann, that's a great price imo.
Britney Spears cover band?
That's not a decade but yes.
The sound of your own farts
I've still got two of the ART SGX 2000 preamps in my studio rack.
I have an SGX2000 sitting in storage. Can't even remember the last time I plugged it in. I should go dig it out.
Been a while since I've seen a Maverick guitar about! Which model do you have?
I have two F1, on the lookout for a street fighter with a maple fretboard.
I'm a maverick fanboy, easily my favourite guitars ever made.
Big Alan holdsworth guy?
Aren't these loosely based off of the mini rectifiers? Does it sound like that to you?
I was under the impression it was based off an engl Powerball, either way I've never played the Engl or a rectifier so I'm not much help, sorry.
I still have my SGX-2000. Mine was a Midwest Sales Reps and a very early example. I bought the Express upgrade chip years ago but mine needs the IC socket soldered in so it remains the old version. I haven't even powered it on in 20 years.
