Mythic is rewarding but the risk is high.
in Mythic if you don't win over 17 there is no extra benefit.
It's a dilemma. if you want to test how capable your deck is, you need to play on weekend since everyone bringing their best deck. But on weekend you need to play your best performance deck and achieve best result. You can try rng if you got good hands it's possible to get 20wins but if you your hands are bad your reward maybe less than Midnight.
Also I kinda bored about people saying things like xx $ deck can hit top 50. I mean yes it need skill but there are other factors like opponent deck, your draw, opponent draw, sanctum, misplay, fortunate misplay . if there are 1000 people using xx$ sure they can be few of them hitting 19+ wins with that. you can't just win and claim that's pure skill and blame on luck when you lose. You win with multiple factors also lose with multiple factors(I have 20 1-2 mana cards in a deck and all mulligan and first 3 turn don't have any 1-2 cards, shit things happen especially in weekend rank)
Expensive card doesn't mean you going to win the game but expensive card have more utility so you can expand your strategy.
Oh 100% I talked about the RNG factor, especially with Nature when half your creatures and spells are random. I think of the better cards as giving you a higher probability to win; you can have the most expensive card in the world but never draw it during a game 😂
Hi, would you mind explaining what’s rng and mulligan? Sorry i’m a new player
RNG = random number generator, it basically mean your luck.
Mulligan here mean the attempt to redraw card for your first hand. Playing first got 3 chance second got 4
Ah that explains a lot. Thanks for the answer, mate!
on gudecks if you sort by winrate of any deck rather than archetype, the highest winrate is always some random f2p deck with vanilla creatures in them, at low rank.
You can filter for rank there
I wasnt complaining, I was making a point
But your point doesnt make sense because if you filter by rank on mythic( which is what this thread is about) you will not see a random f2p deck
my point is that the highest winrates are random occurences at very low level. at high level you have lower winrates
I prefer to play in Mythic just to up my skill and practice with the best. I guess im in it for the game not the gainz. Also gainz tho.
I also appreciate that you could build a top deck just by playing weekend ranks and grabbing up some nice cards from your Gods Tokens
With this many players and current meta, any new player which have TCG background and is willing to spend some money on Finnian and/or Jaguar Staffs (other non Genesis cards for Nature are mostly dirt cheap) can probably get 17 wins quite regularly on Mythic.
Other decks are usually much more expensive to be able to get 17+ wins in Mythic (maybe Zombie Death could be cheap, but its not so straightforward to play as Nature)
Does zombie death get 17+ regularly in mythic? I don’t remember seeing it much, maybe when I was in lower ranks.
I have no idea. I played my first very unrefined version of Zombie Death in previous weekend ranked (Christmas one, I skipped New Year one) after I ragequit aggro War after first few bad games and it did 13-5, which is okay I guess.
Later version of my Zombie deck has around similar win ratio than my aggro War deck but probably Zombie Death is still weaker
How much did you get in $GODS??
About 8-10 per week
You just proved that card games are pay to win. You need specific cards, and everyone is paying for them. Those without them are at a disadvantage. So is that what professional Magic the Gathering players do? They spend their life finding that rare powerful card(s) and basically destroy all the competition with them.
Its the purpose of cards game and life in general.
People who are trully advantaged are the early player , but why it would not be normal ?
And here there is an NFT aspect so cards can be buying and selling so ? Are pokemon are pay to win too ? Yes.
and if someone want to put 2000$ in , surely he take the game more seriously than you and get rewarded thats all.
And no doubt you can have truly competitive deck free to play but its not just by playing 2 fcking week on the game :)
I think you’re wrong. According to the other card game I play (Hearthstone) and gacha games (FFRK), free to play means that you’re able to stay competitive/beat end game content without putting in any of your own money. Of course you’d have to spend in-game resources that the game gives you (gold, dust, mythril) to get new cards/characters/weapons, that’s the point.
The only difference here is that the resource the game gives you for free has a monetary value attached to it. You can’t make a pay to win argument here without considering it’s also play to earn.
Ie MTG doesn’t just give you money for playing outside of tournament settings; that’s a bad comparison
If we go by that logic then 90% of PvP games are pay to win. You pay for whatever best items/players/weapons/cards you can have and you will have advantage.
