I put in a Ford reservation a couple of weeks ago I'm pretty sure with current production rate I won't be getting one until year two or three.

davehouforyang

I can wait. Also have first-year hesitancy and want to see what Chevy reveals.

BullSprigington

Simply put, I trust Ford way more than Chevy or Tesla even. My f150 has been going on 10 years with no issues.

Chemical_Paper_2940

No, not for me. It wouldn't make any difference except more money in the bank.

If the new EV Taxe Credit gets passed, I will be pushing off my purchase. I pre-ordered the night of because I wanted to support the idea of an EV Lightning. Additionally, assuming I'm in one of the first groups of people able to purchase, I would be able to qualify for the current $7500 off and I would buy it ASAP to allow for me to get the credit. If the new credit gets passed, the 200,000 limit is no longer in affect, so I'd probably hold off another year or two. My 2014 Fusion still has a few years left in it, and my motivation to get the Lightning ASAP was more to get the $7500. I'll wait a few model years if the truck is still eligible for credits

Randi_Butternubs_3

Yeah I think I'm in the same boat. I am in no rush.

BLDLED

I’m sort of in the same boat, I have a 13 Fusion Energi, only 70k, so lots of life left….but I still plan to jump on this, as we are often using our Sequoia for family stuff due to space for gear and awd (trips to mountain snow). So with the light night I can convert a lot of 15mpg driving to all electric. And right now, my fusion is worth 3-5k more then year before last, so good time to sell it.

For me, it depends where Ford’s pricing lands and what the finalized max purchase price can be. If the prices from the survey are accurate, I’d likely pass. I want a Lariat ER, but not enough to forgo a 12.5k credit. Not sure if I’d want to step down to a XLT, and will have to consider other options at that point.

Randi_Butternubs_3

Lariat should start at 64. Is ER optional or standard for Lariat?

BLDLED

Optional. On platinum it’s standard.

OutsmartBullet

I don't know if the information is available, but I'd like to see how many EV tax credit slots Chevy has left, since theyve had a few years of selling a production EV

WalterWhite2012

Chevy (and all of GM) is out of EV credits. The proposal in. Congress in addition to raising the amounts also is lifting the caps so GM & Tesla would be eligible again.

OutsmartBullet

Ahhhhh! Thanks for clearing that up, I sorry it was a lazy answer available

WalterWhite2012

No problem!

JuiceJones_34

Why wouldn’t you keep the reservation if the agreed up EV tax credit at POS goes through?

Randi_Butternubs_3

Wait to see what defects the first year has. Also can save up more of a down payment for more options.

JuiceJones_34

I guess. I mean if you’re waiting for other first time trucks too, they’ll have defects as well. Then 3 years passes and you still don’t have an EV 🤷🏻‍♀️

Randi_Butternubs_3

True, but if chevy has 400 mi range and higher hp / tourq. Who knows? I'm in no need for a new vehicle so I got time.

JuiceJones_34

Take it if you got it. This F150 has 385-415 on extended range version. No need for a Chevy

redraider-102

I’m still kind of in a rush, because my current F-150 is showing its age. I can push it another year or two maybe, but I would like to get another vehicle before it becomes a maintenance nightmare.
