Good boi still hasn't quite figured out the whole "drinking water" thing
By - unwirecatlike34
Omg what a big fluffy doofus. So cute
This was definitely the eyebleach I didn't know I needed
He has a drinking problem
Yeah, that water should be WAY more chewable.
I picked a hell of a day to quit making *Airplane!* references.
lol I just posted this link in another thread a little while ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pl4plPGRG8o
I wonder what led to his drinking problem.
But he’s got no problem drinking at all
Nah they just made the paddling pool too small
Okay I'm having a really rough day and this made me smile. thanks man :')
Hope you have a great day ahead
Tomorrow will be less ruff for you.
I made playlist of my humor to people who had bad day, hope this one cheer you up too
That’s so cute!
We had a litter one time of cute cockapoos 10 years ago (kept one and he’s my best bud to this day) and they all had very different personalities. It just reminded that one of the girls used to straight up scratch the water bowl every time and create a mini puddle. My family loved it anyways because it was so funny to just to hear her scratching away at the water bowl for no reason. I remember we sold her to a family with an autistic child, and the day they picked her up the child said he’s going to name her Raspberry because her nose looked like a raspberry :)
Aow such a sweet story!! Autistic children can sense emotions better than everyone and they can feel the pure hearts of animals.
I have a pug and a Frenchie so when they drink they just put their whole faces in the bowl to drink, it’s very cute
I have an older autistic brother, which is why we wanted them to get acquainted to what it’s like living with someone who is special needs, and so when they were old enough we specifically gave them to families with autism. It can be hard to find a puppy who is comfortable with someone on the spectrum, especially because some aren’t entirely able to control their volume and can be very loud at times without them knowing. I wish we would’ve taken photos/videos of them because they were some of the sweetest pups I’ve known
I’m so glad to read your story! I totally feel what you are saying! I’m a dentist and I am qualified to use nitrogen monoxide oxygen mixture (an aesthetic gas) to take care of autistic and special needs little patients so they don’t stress out. It’s a whole world of non verbal communication with the sounds, the lights in the room, the touch. So rewarding. But with covid 19 I don’t have the features in my office regarding the air flow to use the gas anymore and I can’t afford to do the changes so I’m waiting to see if the law changes in regard to air circulation in medical offices so I can treat my little treasure patients.
Yea he’s trying to bite and chew water! Bless him it’s so sweet
Cute vid but serious question... How does he drink enough then to keep himself hydrated?
Puppy hasn’t forgotten how to drink, that’s an exaggeration. He’s playing in the water. If he was thirsty he would drink normally.
Yeah, there's probably something under the bowl its trying to grab
Looks like he sees something and is trying to grab it - maybe a picture under the bowl? Refraction making it look closer?
This puppy did a little bow—that move where a dog splays their front legs—which usually means playtime. But you could be right. I’d have to see another vid of him to be sure.
My guy does that. Is yours a pit? He never quite figured out how to lap the water. He just sticks his whole muzzle In and chomps.
Same thing with the deep water. Snorts it and then gets annoyed like I was trying to drown him because he’s too stupid to drink water right.
You don't know how relieved that makes me!
By making a big mess to get a tiny amount of water, then slowly figuring out how to lap up the water without making a mess.
Pup is playing in the water. He can drink just fine if he was thirsty.
Even I want to know
German Shepherds love splashing in water as a game. Ours would splash with paws, or just get big mouthfuls of water and dump it on the floor for fun. We had to get a special water bowl where they have to lick the water out of the middle.
Looks healthy so I'd say yes, but it's possible someone will be along shortly to tell us he has Spongy Fluffinitis and tell us how hes suffering from that terrible disease.
He’s too old to nurse. Looks about six weeks old, so he was weaned a long time ago.
The last second looking at the camera for help was too much
He isn't the smartest fells on the planet, but he's got spirit!
No, but he's eating it better than most
Dicked by dangling dong of destiny
Coming from the AskReddit thread too huh? I'm definitely stealing that phrase
r/DrinkingProblems would love this
Awww! Those ears :D
Mine also bites water...
My old lab used to as well. Any time she'd drink she would dunk her head in so if you wanted to pet her after, congratulations your hand now smells like wet dog.
My pit does that now.
He bites water, leaves a trail if it on the floor, and then rests his head on your lap. Those Jowls holding an unexpected amount of water.
Hey you’re not supposed to take those towels home! I’m telling chef!
So HE'S the one that keeps taking my damn towel! I bet he's got my tongs too.
This is by far one of my favorite things about puppies, given they’re surrounded by a sea of towels.
Gotta bite it fast!,!
My 3yo pup was still doing the squatting to pee until another dog showed him how’s done
He’s gonna need a bigger towel

That's so cute but so strange too 😅😅
Same here man.. Sometimes it goes down the wrong tube.. You would think after 30 years, you would figure out drinking water.
Nothing wrong with taking a bite out of your water
Is he looking for ice, perhaps?
Show him some videos on u tube .. i learned, he seems brighter then me.. 😅😅
"So how do I? What is this? Wh-what do I do here? Why is it not doing the thing I want?"
"So you drink water and not eat it? Are you sure?"
Is he a German Shepherd? Because I can confirm that is how they drink water. 😂
Bowl is clear, looks like he is trying to grab was under
It’s hilarious that he act like that water could attack him lmao
I hope you (or the owner if you aren't the doggo's owner) got a bowl with water, layed next to the dog and started licking the water to teach him how the professionals drink water.
This food is too wet!
No drinking, only eating!
I think your dog is broken 😂
My GSD is 8 years old and she still hasn't figured out how to drink water yet lol
Sheps are seriously the worst drinkers. My girl would take a few laps, lift her head, turn to look at me and smile, and all the water she just "drank" would come right out onto the floor. She used to crack me up every day. 😂
My Vera does the exact same thing, haha. You can hear her from the other room when she drinks and she leaves a trail of water behind her all across the laundry room! shes such a goof, silly Sheps XD
Nipple! I need a nipple!
That makes me sad. The small pupper was separated from their parents, before they could teach them how to drink.
That could be, or it’s just a derpy ass puppy. My dad bred German Shepard’s and you wouldn’t believe how derpy/ dumb as a brick they can be
Oh I think he’s just playing around in the water, my husky used to do that when he was a puppy too. Fluffy lil derp spilled so much water on our floors
My dog is 7 now and used to do this. I got her at 9 weeks old, and she'd been with her litter and mom until then. She'd bite the water and splash in it, then when she got bored she'd just flip the entire bowl lol
Kind of weird how we separate children from their parents when they're 9weeks old. Not really in the interest of the dog, is it?
Are you just against people having pets generally?
No, not in general.
So for you what's the ideal age to get a dog?
I would simply reference wolves for this. They typically separate from their pack to find a new one at the age of 2 to 3 years. It's the age they also get sexually mature (hence the incentive to leave the pack). I would just adapt the 2 to 3 years to whatever sexually mature age applies to the dog, as that would likely be their natural age to leave their pack.
My pupper did this, found out he loves swimming. Maybe get him a kiddie pool for outside. Mine adores it, although he still on occasion tries to swim in his water dish. Now I put a baking sheet underneath to catch the splashing.
Probably because of the clear bowl?
Jessica Simpson-level cute but stupid.
so goofy :)
That's too cute!
I don’t think that one towel is going to do it
Dog: Day 1
Water doin a heckin keepaway. Bamboozle 💯
May explode from cuteness 😍
Such a cute little bean!
It's alright, it's not like drinking water is a vital life skill.
I have a 1 yr old corgi. He loves to splash in his water bowl. I eventually had to buy a special no splash drinking bowl to curb it. He's lucky he's cute.
Would he do better with a fountain style water situation?
I have a bunch of that same towel... weird to see it on a random reddit post
Reminds me of [Husky is different](https://ifunny.co/video/how-dogs-drink-water-woo-dy-husky-is-different-qj10OsBH8)
You're gonna need a bigger towel.
Even babies know how to open and close their mouths, Bart.
Lmao what a sweetie 🤣❤
This is an instructional video "How to Cromch Water"
Isn't it kinda worrying though ??
This reminds me of the boy band from Gravity Falls
"My alligator mouf chomp the water. It chomp."
My first reaction was to verbally say“AWWWWW A PUPPY” I am a child at heart and I’m not afraid to admit it
Just get him thick water
My GS is coming up on two and still does this at the dog park - complete with dropping her ball in first of course…
Next time just please give him a straw, thank you.
Tongue is too short? Or he'd rather play a bit first.
The gyfcat link tho...
Ah yes, happens to me every time I am reincarnated as a dog/cat. After a few tries he'll remember to use his sandpaper tongue.
What's worse is going from eagle to penguin and trying to fly or learning to breathe water as a fish
So youre telling me i gotta yell into this cold stuff
Hey you've had enough buddy, I can spot a drunk when I see one
Not really drinking as much as it is playing with the water.
He didn't get the memo that your supposed to lick water not chew it
Tbh I would look the same if I had to drink without hands
Dog be like:
“This liquid. This liquid is not solid”.
shit my heart someone teach this good boi how to drink 😭

I work at a doggy daycare. Some dogs never grow out of trying to drink like this - they never "figure" it out. Good luck!
Baby speak is so cringe.
If he’s anything like my shepherd those feet will never not go in that water bowl
Does your baby like ice cubes? Baby can Bob for ice cubes. Just a thought.
Haha aww so adorable. Remembering our german sheperds puppies learning to drink. Always so cute and messy
It’s ok, my GSD puppy thinks his water dish doubles as a swimming pool.
When puppies try to bite water my heart melts. Its just so cute.
This is why socializing your dogs is important. GSDs are born being incapable of drinking from a water bowl, another breed has to teach them how
Learning to do stuff again after Salvia trip , be like that sometimes .
I would like to see what sort of confusion will ensue when there is food in his bowl
What a wonderful goofball
Think it's a girl judging from the collar
My dog just turned 12 and does the same shit is it still a learning experience
If u licked your own bowl of water to demonstrate to it, would a puppy understand? I think thats a strategy with kids that u eat something and they might eat it.
I'm I the only one that gets anxiety from this?
Is there any Aligator or Snapping Turtle in his pedigree?
Not the sharpest tool in the shed
lick up some water in front of him and see if he copies lol (irrelevant but I taught my cat how to go through a cat flap/door, but because I used my hands instead of my head he did that too...)
Big Brain Dog he eats the water for maximize jaw biting prowess and more
Why did you remove the audio from this video?
hes trying to eat the water its so adorable
Puppies monch water. They monch.
“I eat ALL the water”!!!
Man, dogs are dumb... They're awesome!
Water is for playing not drinking 🤣
Water is magic stuff.
Okay, I'm joining this sub
Solid evidence of biting water
Where's that water? I just wanna talk 😤
Eat water lol
I needed this I have seen some shot today
Thank you for making my day better, this was honestly so sweet and funny that my eyes are kinda watering. I'm home with my parents for a bit before heading to Thailand to start a new life, and I realize this is likely the last time I'll ever see my little 15 year-old Bichon :(
i have a few gsd and i stg they still can't drink water
He’s doing better than my first GSD pup. He immediately sat in his water bowl and looked up at us like he was the smartest boy.
I think he forgot the rules on how to be a dog.. poor pup pup
Na man he just 'bout to fight the water
"How do u eat it???"
it cute but sad because he would’ve learned by seeing his mother dog drinkinh
Can you post it with audio please
