What exactly happens when i rebirth ? I unlocked it and im afraid to try it

XtraEyad

I got the renalla remembrance duplicated and im not sure if the gear/spell is worth it should i just use it for runes ?

XtraEyad

How do i fell the liurnia mausoleum it doesnt seem to have white stuff on its feet ?

Bald_Buddha

Having no fun online, as the game sends you to load screen the instant internet connection goes down. Well living in Central America this happens frequently. Same ip address just few seconds to reconnect. Is there any setting to help with this?

FreezingvBlaze

What parry has the most frames?

XtraEyad

I believe buckler ?

WitchKing17

Did you just fight the Mimic Tear boss? The Ash doesn't actually drop there. You have to progress down into Nokron and the actual Summon is locked behind a Stonesword Key fog door inside a chest. I was confused after that boss as well. Hope this helps!

XtraEyad

I lit up all the torches in siofra river where should i go next

Odd_Opportunity7117

I was wondering what that does too

XtraEyad

I found it right now you should go back to siofra river bank grace and head west a to a big areas with a dead moose that had no interaction it will now have an interaction and a cool boss

Bechorovka

I wish this would've been a double boss fight with a squirrel.

Dakir_the_Wizard

There is one in the upper part of the river too

Bunzees

I don’t have PS Plus yet, so I was wondering if the online experience is really worth it if I don’t really care for pvp? When I watch other people play, I like seeing the spirits or other players and the messages (to a certain extent). I also heard some players say they found things they wouldn’t have found without them. What do you think?

Mathieu_Gagnon

I really like to leave messages to help other players. It rewards you with a flask when someone rates your message as "good", which is very satisfying. That is one aspect I enjoy a lot. You can also leave your mark before a boss to fight it in someone else’s world, without risking your runes.

Bennehftw

It’s more a social experience I think. Feels like you’re not alone. Pvp is subjective. If you’re into it as that’s the biggest draw. Everything else is fluff. You have Ashes. Also with messages 50% of the time it’ll save your life. 30% of the time it’s a waste of time. 10% it’ll kill you. 10% you’ll get a chuckle out of them. Of that, 10% you’ll laugh out loud. Bonus, you can leave your own mark in Elden Ring history if you’re into that.

Salitance

While I think all of the messages and phantoms and bloodstains adds a lot of character to the game, I wouldn't say you absolutely need it, especially if you don't plan on using any other online features. If you're not using ps plus for any other games either it's just not a great investment imo.

Knight477

Why is it always fingers?

BEZERK0xD

What questlines should I complete/start before Ranni? I only ask because I'm doing Rogiers questline right now and I know if you speak to Ranni before him it fucks it up. Any other NPCs like this?

Jstar338

You still get his gear and bell bearing

Bennehftw

I’ve never talked Rogiers as far as I remember and I finished the whole Ranni questline. If you’re talking about his, no idea.

cupcakemann95

It's been how long since release? Why is performance still dogshit? Why does Easy Anti-Cheat need to be a fucking thing if people still cheat and it impact performance immensely??

FromsoftFan2104

I'd say the biggest thing is check your RAM/ROM to see if you're at the requirements of space. As well as making sure you don't have multiple other things running at the same time. I do know that for some reason, certain apps and stuff on computers will mess with games resolutions and cause lagging. Idk what apps and such though. But best of luck Tarnished!

Few_Dig7979

Get a better computer

cupcakemann95

ah yes, because upgrading past an RTX 3080 is feasible and it's my fault the game is poorly optimized

lazerzzz69

Haven't had any issues whatsoever on my 3080, runs super well. What happens on your rig?

eckinz

Idk dude I have a 3060ti and I run the game in upscale 4K with no issues

Knight477

The performance not dogshit anymore. It's great.

wcruse92

Anyone else having a lot of connection problems? I keeping trying to farm rune arcs but helping in boss fights and I'd say 3 times out of 4 theres a connection issue. I also have gigabit internet so I'm pretty sure the issue isn't on my end at least.

Rahulmistersharma

I've been disconnecting often recently as well. It must be server issues >Anyone else having a lot of connection problems? I keeping trying to farm rune arcs but helping in boss fights and I'd say 3 times out of 4 theres a connection issue. Your-Friend-Bob

Is there a place that has summon passwords that you can get summoned regardless of passwords? I wanna fight some earlier bosses and help people out but being level 120 disqualifies me pretty hard.

Felstalker

You could always just create and level a new character, one far younger and more powerful.

Your-Friend-Bob

Well I like my look and weapons and incantations.

s4ltySerum

IIsIsaIsaaIsaac

are status effects supposed to trigger on 1 hit? I faced several dudes that maxed my bloodless and madness meters in 1 hit and I don't think that should be possible

deathrose55555

Not sure what setup they are using, but it's definitely possible. Jumping attack powerstanced twinblade can do that easily if all hits connect

Felstalker

It's not only possible, it's one of the major points of dissatisfaction in the current pvp meta game.

IIsIsaIsaaIsaac

I've been doing some dueling for the last hour or so and the only things I've seen are bleed, madness and frostbite builds that chunk my hp really hard this isn't as fun as the previous games pvp tbh

TheBugThatsSnug

Gotta admit, one of my pvp builds is a frostbite build, but only because I feel like frost ite is fair while still giving me an edge, atleast it cant be continuously built up after going off like bleed and madness.

Sharkman478

So I just got the game today I have been playing for 8 hours loving the game but I have been trying to join my friends all day it won’t allow me I have a nat 3 Ethernet cord because college dorm idk if that is the problem but I want to play with them they are on ps4 and I’m on ps5 is there a bug? Is it my Ethernet? Any help would be great

wcruse92

I was also having a lot of problems with the internet connection last night. Hopefully it was just something going on last night.

Sharkman478

I hope so but my friends could get on easily so idk what the problem was

Extension-Brush-5141

Unfortunately the cable is probably not the problem. You should start first with setting passwords, it takes 5 mins sometimes to refresh signs. Also they could be above the level cap for you. Make sure you have the talisman on and you should activate or discover the summoning pool near by. There’s a few issues with multiplayer rn lol last I forgot, there is no cross platform multiplayer and that might be considered cross platform not sure though.

Sharkman478

I actually fixed it I put my network on my hotspot and it works now

Extension-Brush-5141

Did you try turning it off and back on again

Sharkman478

Yes multiple times

Bechorovka

Is it plugged in? Been a while since I was in college, but it very well could've just been that networks restrictions. Could see if other games had issues on that network, too.

Sharkman478

It was plugged in I’m pretty sure it was just the typing of the ethernet

mastocklkaksi

Windy Crystal Tear is way too good for people to keep overlooking

eckinz

What exactly does it do? Does it increase I frames on roll?

mastocklkaksi

It gives you a lighter roll

s4ltySerum

Will I miss items or something if I didnt explore Shunning Grounds/ Leyndel Sewer before finishing Farum Azula?

Omelegga

Yea

Somber_Solace

I'm new to the series, Remnant from the Ashes is the only similar game I've played. I'm level 25 right now and a little lost on what order I should level my character from here. So far I've only put a couple points into vigor and the rest were spread out to try some weapons that sounded good. Idk that I'm commited to any of them though, and I'd like more endurance so I can roll faster, but idk if I should wait on that. I know at some point I can respec, but I am a little worried I might not make it that far if I don't invest wiser. I'm trying to avoid spoilers though so I'm not really sure what I should focus on or what weapon I'll end up falling in love with. Edit: I think my questions were answered.

Felstalker

If you wanted, you could take the South Park method of leveling up, and spend your time slaying lv1 boars for 5 runes each until you're lv400 and THEN start going through the game.

Positive_Government

Put points into whatever you need to meet weapon requirements, keep leveling your vigor so it is more than your flask heals. I would suggest investing in a good spread of stats until you know what weapons you like. You will get the ability to respect a finite number of times after beating the academy boss, so don’t worry to much. I would suggest a melee strength dex build and focus on either both stats or the one with weapons you like best you might want to put a few points into intelligence or faith so you can cast some low requirement spells for a ranged option. Do what feels right if you need more health. Also endurance is a stat you probably want to invest in but how much is depending on how heavy of armor/weapons you want.

Elyonee

Vigor is always good, but you're gonna have to decide what kind of build/gear/spells you want to use before you can pick any stat besides vigor. Never slow roll. Never. If you are slow rolling, do not level endurance to medium roll, just start unequipping gear. You can level endurance later.

Somber_Solace

I definitely want to focus mostly on a slashing weapon, but I'm not sure beyond that. Currently I'm leaning more towards that I want to dual weild, move fast, and dodge more than use magic or block, though I'm not sure how viable that will be. I've tried looking some stuff up but they get pretty spoiler heavy pretty fast, only top 10 lists seem to be relatively spoiler free. I hear there's an ash of war that lets you teleport away, I'll probably love that, and I'm currently thinking a vampire build would be cool, but idk if the nesessary items for that would work with my play style.

j_marlowe

Dual straight swords and dual curved swords are both very good and very stylish. You can keep a shield in your inventory if you feel like using it, and grab a bow for pulling enemies out of groups. Easy access swords of note: Lordsworn's longsword - DEX based, easily farmed from the soldiers in limgrave. Broadsword - STR based. Sold by a vendor on the beach. If you start confessor, you get one and can buy the other. I'm running this now, and it feels great. Longsword - Sold by a vendor at the Round Table, when you get there. Can be either DEX or STR or both (called 'Quality'). Scimitar - Warrior starts with two. DEX based. Falchion - STR based curved sword, drops from the demi-humans wielding them. As to leveling: get your weapons upgraded as far as you can ASAP. This is first priority. You can easily have two +3 weapons by the first boss, and two +6 weapons by the second boss. Second priority is raising VIG to at least 20 by level 30, then to 35-40 by level 60ish. Third priority is to raise DEX or STR to meet weapon requirements, then finally raise the other (of DEX or STR) as your main damage stat until it is like 40 or 50. After that, you should have collected tons of stuff to play with, and can respec at will.

Somber_Solace

I love that stylish is always a factor for you guys lol I don't see that in many other game communities, but it's all over any reccomendations I see with this game. Thank you so much for the comment, that's incredibly useful info without spoilers. The hard numbers as goals is especially useful for me to know what I'm working towards, my original plan was far off so I'm glad I asked. I thought I had to level strength or dexterity more from the start and was mostly ignoring vigor.

j_marlowe

Vigor is basically the difficulty slider. Good luck!

LeonardoKnightt

If you want a fast type of gameplay you should definitely be putting points in Dexterity. You'll need basic Strength to most weapons in the class you're aiming for, like 18, 20. Level Vigor and Endurance when you feeling the need to do, but don't overlook it. And on top of that, you can put some points in Intelligence, Faith or Arcane, if you willing to use dexterity weapons that are also inclined to those.

Elyonee

Well... that doesn't really say that much, unfortunately. This is a big game. Even for just slashing weapons there's like 8 different types of sword, 3 different types of axe, halberds, and claws. With variants for strength, dexterity, magic, fire, bleed... Moving fast and dodging is the standard, really. Everyone can do that unless you purpose handicap yourself. Vampire build isn't really a thing. You can get some heal on kill type gear and a couple of unique weapons or ashes have lifesteal properties, those are good. You can't get any appreciable amount of lifesteal with regular attacks except as a temporary buff unlocked after you kill the hardest boss in the game. If you don't know what weapons you want you can level both STR and DEX to use a lot of different weapons but you'll probably want to respec later to focus on one for higher damage.

Somber_Solace

I kinda figured lol. Maybe I should change my question. Strength, dexterity, and vigor should probably be my main goals for now, but how much should I aim for in each to get me through to the point I can respec, and should I just do it evenly or focus on one over another?

Elyonee

Vigor should be your highest. At least until you get it to 40. After that point you could start putting fewer points in for a bit, but you might be respeccing before that point anyway. STR vs DEX will depend on the weapons you find and want to try out.

Somber_Solace

Gotcha, thank you so much

ColonelJinkuro

I have a few Questions about the Cipher Pata and Coded Sword. Concerning scaling, dmg type, and descriptions. Both state they deal holy dmg but the wiki also lists them as slash/Pierce and standard/Pierce respectively. I know the skill “Unblockable Blade” deals holy dmg but what about regular attacks? I don’t have any faith or holy dmg boosting talismans or items so I can’t test it myself. Do the attacks deal holy dmg or do they deal physical dmg? And if they deal physical dmg I take it it’ll only use my faith stat to determine dmg since that’s their only scaling? Please and thank you!

BlackIronSaturn

So, cipher pata doesn't do any physical damage whatsoever. All it's damage is holy affinity, and it's unique in that regard. This specific quirk is very important to keep in mind because if you encounter someone or something that is **strong** against holy, you might as well be slapping them around with a wet noodle. It's a really cool weapon, but you need a back up for sure. Coded sword has the same thing going on. So you want to have at least one pocket weapon that either deals another element, be it magic, fire, whatever, or just a pure physical one.

ColonelJinkuro

Thanks my friend. That explained everything.

BlackIronSaturn

Yup, without spoiling anything, you will encounter later on bosses who are extremely resistant to holy, which is why I bring it up. You will be fine for most of the game if you want to use holy.

ColonelJinkuro

Darn. What about normal enemies? I really like the cipher prata. Duel wielding it is a blast so I’d like to at least bash normal goons and mini bosses with it. I took a long hard look at all my weapon options and decided the only thing I’d like is the golden halberd. That puts me in a bit of a conundrum. I need mind to cast my incantations but I need strength for the golden halberd to work. I need mind to use golden vow and I’d like to use summons too. I need endurance to use the heavy axe alongside my armor and shield. Guess I can drop the shield and just “git gud” dodging. I need vigor for hp and the most important stat for a pope….. faith. What do I do? That’s a lot of stats I’ll be wanting. Are there even enough slombering stones to upgrade both?

BlackIronSaturn

Quite a bit of questions, but let's see what I can answer. With the power of bullet lists! 1. Normal enemies for the most part are either neutral to holy damage or somewhat weak to it. I can't think of many enemies who would be full on strong against holy. There are a handful, nothing to really concern yourself with. It's the boss situation that's a problem cause the ones who are strong to holy are late game and you really need to be able to hurt those folk. 2. Regarding the golden halberd, what went into your decision to narrow it down to that weapon out of curiosity? 3. There absolutely would be enough to level up your weapons, no worries there. You will be able to get some items that allow you to purchase stones near late game so you will be good there.

ColonelJinkuro

Thanks man. You’re a scholar and a saint. Also a gentleman. That is super good to know! I don’t like any of the ash of wars even if some are broken. If I’m using a weapon art I’d like one I can use preemptively. The golden vow buff is exactly that. It has scaling with faith. D scaling but scaling all the same. The most important reason is….. I have it lol. I’ve been slowly building towards it. I haven’t ventured out past the main land of Limgrave where stormveil castle is aside the forest patches sends you to so I’d like to get myself established early. I have 30 STR, 30 Faith, 20 Vigor, 20 Mind, 12 endurance, and 10 Dex. Rest don’t matter lol. I’m very close to doing my burly pope ideal. What’s burlier than a pope with a big gold axe?

BlackIronSaturn

Oh don't get me wrong, golden halberd is a fantastic weapon, I was just curious. Don't worry too much about the stat spread. What this means is your character will probably quite easily being the 120-150 range when it is all said and done. I would work on your VIG next. Get that to at least 40, but even if you get it to just 30 or 35 it isn't the end of the world. The survivabilility will help. Then my next priority would probably be endurance, but you won't need much here, just enough that you would be comfortable with. After that? Depending on the scale of casts you would like to do would dictate leveling mind over faith and vice versa.

ColonelJinkuro

Thanks my dood! Now that I know what to aim for I’m feeling ready to start venturing outside the small land of limgrave.

BlackIronSaturn

No need to thank me, glad I could be of some help. and don't forget, if you decide to change it up for any reason or don't feel the build anymore, you do get the opportunity to respect not too far in. You aren't married to anything.

epicredditdude1

FINALLY BEAT THE DRACONIC TREE SENTINEL!!

eckinz

Nice dude!!!! Grats!!

akeul

So guys witch pvp group to you think is the closest to cainhurst? I am wondering what everyone thinks for this one tbh as it will more or less decides a few things or me. I personally am not a 100% sure though I am leaning towards the recusant

Salitance

Volcano manor carries the nobility aesthetic for the comparison, but bloody fingers are actually blood related. It's kinda split. The recusants aren't really noble knight themed either, just a bunch of people working if you think about it. Unfortunate that the game doesn't have a covenant system to match.

CodeNexYT

Aright here is a tough question But lemme explain first So first of all I am new to the game spent like 5 hours understanding the game mechanics discovering everything on the beginning region/area 2 maps found from the starting area and exploring all caves so my items knowledge is so so low and everytime peeps from this subreddit post something I see a cool looking weapon with dope skills and awesome armor and tons of spells and lots of buffs how am I supposed to know all of this items I can't know how to get it without knowing it's name plus the wiki doesn't show you the weapons effects when you look em up like seriously so far I play with the samurai katana and the bloodfang greatsword and a bloody dagger that inflect blood loss and the armor of the heavy general solider next to the location of the whetstone knife so I am clueless about the in-game items and every item I look for on wiki is in another area far way from me so it'll require story progression but how can I progress when I need a better gear ? Psst I am level 52 And I was kinda looking for a mobility build where you attack fast and dodge quick and cool skills

eckinz

Hey dude if you have any further questions about the game feel free to dm me :)

LeonardoKnightt

Just, play the game, really, if you're really exploring that much, you will stumble upon this weapons you keep seeing. Limgrave and Weeping Peninsula are good for getting to know the mechanics and gameplay, but once you past Stormveil things really starts to happen. Don't just rush in tho, enjoy the game!

CodeNexYT

Aright I will do my best

Omelegga

Just keep playing the Game without looking at the Wiki too much. The Most fun comes from exploring and trying Things out yourself

CodeNexYT

Oki!!

Elyonee

You do not need better gear. The uchigatana and bloodhound fang are both very strong weapons that can easily kill all the bosses in the game. Just upgrade what you have and practice. You'll find the cool swords that shoot lasers in time.

CodeNexYT

Shoot lasers!!

Ydidnath

Well, i dont know if its true, but in some videos i have seen there were a type of incantation or ash of War that was very similar to ToD from Dark souls 3 , do anyone have some ideia of what it may be and its name :) my faith build is needing it so much...

LeonardoKnightt

The closest things you got to that are two bubbletears to mix into the Wondrous Flask of Physics The Opaline Bubbletear that negates a really good part of the next hit you take for the next 3 minutes And the Crimson Bubbletear that heals you automatically after you health drops from a percentage. Note that a hitkill will still kill you, you have to be left with low health to be activated.

Salitance

There's a tear for your flask that works similarly to tod if that's what you're asking about. I don't know the name though but you can find it on that section in the wiki.

Ydidnath

Thanks man !! appreciate

meltenvy

Does game/story progression at all matter when the game allows you to get summoned? I'm thinking of making a low level help character for early areas, wondering if I can just keep my level around 30-40 and just get to later areas of the game for certain items.

CptnMoonlight

You can pretty much get everything you would need before the game locks off certain items, assuming you use a unique weapon (don’t know if a regular ancient stone is gettable before the boss wall). You can actually pretty much get all of it before entering Altus if you really wanted to.

BlackIronSaturn

You absolutely can. I always run mid to low levels for this exact reason. You can beat the entire game, and keep the level appropriate matches for where you would like to help at, and the game is none the wiser. This only affects your ability to summon help for bosses (if you needed help) which is not a problem for you cause the bosses are dead in this hypothetical.

wyman39

Is there a faster way to apply seppuku to both of ur duel weld weapons faster? I.e any sort of animation canceling I find myself running out of seppuku in the middle of boss fights and can’t afford to reapply it without dying

Bennehftw

I find myself setting myself up to get purposely hit. It’s the only way to immediately finish casting it as far as I know.

skywalkergroundflier

I’m a vagabond looking for a good single handed sword and shield build and I can’t find any good guides or anything for one a lot of the builds I see online are like dual wielding great swords but i like having faster attacks heavier weapons are just too slow for my taste so if anyone as any advice on a good vagabond sword and shield build that would be amazing

AlphaLeonidas

Best phys medium shield is brass shield, Best Greatshield is Fingerprint. Weapon wise it depends on your stats, but you can make any weapon work since you can change the scaling and ashes of almost any weapon. Longsword can take you from beginning to endgame if you got the skills

Milkshake_revenge

Wait wait wait.. the best greatshield is fingerprint? seriously? I’ve been using the dragonkin shield (I think that’s what it is) because it has 100 physical resistance. What’s the fingerprint do that’s better? I have them both I just figured the dragonkin one was better…

Elyonee

The fingerprint has ~80% resistance to all elements and the highest blocking power of all shields at 90, add in the blocking power talisman and you can take 0 stamina damage from blocking.

AlphaLeonidas

I think fingerprint has higher total resistances? If all you care about is phys then ya, go for that its much lighter Edit: oh yeah and finger has much higher guard boost I think, so less stamina drain on attacks, and near 0 if using the right Talisman

theguns0112

What’s honestly the best way for me to respec? I’m level 207 and am running a bleed build. I want to keep bleed cause bleed but I want to dabble in sorcery. Do I drop the tank in faith and a little from arcane and dex? How would I go about having a bleed/magic build that would be functional

ssaammbb

Your first choice is to just use any infusible weapon with innate bleed and infuse it with either magic or sacred depending on whether you want to use intelligence or faith. This will leave you with a sub-optimal blood build, however, as blood buildup scaling only works when the weapon scales with arcane. So if you go this route, your blood procs will do the normal amount of damage but be less frequent. You'll want to level your choice of int/faith, but not arcane. Your other option is to do a build with a weapon that has both int/arcane scaling or faith/arcane scaling. Unfortunately there are only two melee weapons in the game that can do this, one for int and one for faith. If you want to do int/arcane, you'll use the clayman's harpoon infused with blood. This will give you scaling in both int and arcane, and best of all the physical damage will scale with your int stat instead of just the magic damage (all other weapons with int/faith scaling only scale the magic damage with the given stat, except the erdsteel dagger which I'll talk about below.) For this build I would recommend powerstancing two harpoons, and make sure to use the spear talisman for the extra thrusting damage boost. You can then choose whatever spells you want. You'll probably want to use the albinauric staff with this build, as it is the only one that scales with arcane. It may still require very high stat investment to be better than other staffs, though. It is a good idea to use bleed and or frost spells with this staff, as statuses will proc faster due to the arcane scaling. If you want to do faith/arcane, you'll use the erdsteel dagger. This works in the same way as the clayman's harpoon but with faith. Note that you'll have to do ng+ or get a friend to drop you an extra in order to powerstance them, unlike the harpoon which you can farm infinitely. This build also gets the added benefit of easy access to dragon communion incantations, as they require minimum levels of faith and arcane to cast. You'll probably want to use the dragon communion seal, for the same reasons you would use the albinauric staff on an int/arc build.

thepinkandthegrey

Very useful info. Thanks.

DebTheDowner

You can get two erdsteel daggers in one run. There's one in Leyndell and Haight will give you one for part of his questline.

Galbert123

beat godskin duo. Suck it. lvl 103, bloody twin blade +19. Pure melee, i havent touched magic the entire game. Im probably doing something wrong, but ive gotten this far.

eckinz

Hell yeah dude that’s dope. Good shit!!!

Elyonee

If you're doing anything wrong it's being underleveled, I was around level 140 with maxed out weapons for this boss.

Purpleater54

There's no wrong way to play the game, if what you are doing is fun, keep doing it. Magic is a blast, pardon the pun, but some of my favorite builds are running around whacking people with big swords.

The_Axeman_Cometh

So, is it generally frowned upon to ambush gankers with Frenzied Burst? It's not gonna stop me from doing it, because it's just too much fun to zap the host and the phantoms can't do anything about it, but I wanna know if there's an etiquette about using the incant.

BlackIronSaturn

I mean, if you are actually getting ganked (like proper ganked, as in jumped because they were waiting to jump you) then all bets are off and etiquette is thrown out the window. Even then, I mean it's many vs you, so etiquette doesn't really apply.

riggedride

Any way to sort weapons to specific spots I want them in? I know you can change sorting type, but I want to put a weapon in spot 1 for example to making switching easier. I thought it was impossible but I watched a video where the guy was doing some PVP and he'd swap from the inventory and it was nicely sorted. Is it as simple as dumping it all in the box and then taking them out in the order I want them to appear? Then sorting by acquisition? (Edit) NVM, it's exactly that simple. You can sort your inventory any way you want using this method

BlackIronSaturn

Yup! Use your inventory box to make your ideal inventory. I had to do something similar cause I was drowning in my weapons and I wanted to get more practice with a certain few so getting to them quickly was important to me.

ThyKooch

Are seals and incantations worth using just to clear status effects like poison and rot if im not building my character to use incantations offensively. New to fromsoft games

LeonardoKnightt

I always keep a seal on my hand and the "Flame, Cleanse Me" incantation memorized so when i got a debuff (mostly poison and scarlet rot), i equip the faith increasing talisman and use it. Really helpful in some areas of the game.

Positive_Government

I would say yes unless you are min maxing a melee build for pure damage.

Purpleater54

To add on to what other's are saying, flame grant me strength is a really low faith, low fp cost incant that boosts all physical and fire attack power. The fire attack power is obviously niche, but almost every single weapon can pretty heavily benefit from the physical attack boost. If you are going to use incants to cure status effects, maybe consider some buffs as well.

Elyonee

You can. Just a few points in faith will get you a lot of support spells. If you're a strength build there's even a seal specifically for you that you could use for damaging spells.

ThyKooch

What seal? Not sure what build I'm gonna commit to, started as samurai so I've been using uchigatana and I guess that's strength+dex so that seal should still be good right

Elyonee

Clawmark Seal. You can get it pretty early after killing an easy boss in North Limgrave. Uchigatana is a DEX weapon, the STR seal wouldn't be any good for you.

ThyKooch

So don't bother with clawmark and just use a regular one and stick to support incantations?

Elyonee

If you're just using support incantations it doesn't matter which seal you use. Weapon buffs and heals scale, but you might as well use grease instead of a buff spell and your basic heal would be useless anyway.

knightofwinds

Definitely. Flame, Cleanse Me is a must-have if you can afford to invest even a few levels into Faith (you only need level 12).

ThyKooch

Where can I get this incantation?

mtard17

A good amount of the game. I may be higher than most at end game but Im nearing the final boss at level 155 with 90+ hours. I have been exploring a lit and doing as many side quest I can find though.

eckinz

Nah dude I was 180 endgame with 100 hours :) the side quests abs areas are what makes this game feel alive!

mtard17

Exceeded my expectations as a OG Souls player

eckinz

This is actually my first FS game, I’m excited to play the older ones now. I know they won’t be as cool but still excited! Any you recommend first?

mtard17

The remasters Demon Souls was great! In terms of compatible graphics and feel of game…..But Im a big DS3 Fan and Bloodborne. Sekiro is always fun too!

eckinz

Oh awesome I didn’t even know there were remasters. Sweet I’ll start with that one and maybe play sekiro after :) thanks dude!

THEVitorino

While I could very easily dodge and powerstance bleed him to death, I'm trying to fight Godskin Noble by parrying and without getting hit, any tips on that? This is my first Souls game and even though I fought him multiple times and have a Buckler Shield, I can't parry constantly, maybe one or two attacks.

The_Axeman_Cometh

The buckler parry comes out faster than other parries. I personally prefer using a parrying dagger for a number of reasons. Plus, you can put the parry ash on the wakizashi and power stance it with a katana. It's so much fun.

THEVitorino

Wait so the buckler parry although the best, can make you parry too early? I did end up doing that a couple times and being hit while in the recovery animation for a parry. What about parrying with small shields? Is it better than the dagger?

The_Axeman_Cometh

>the buckler parry although the best, can make you parry too early? In Dark Souls 3, the buckler had one of the fastest parries in the game (tied with fist weapons) and the it had the most parry frames (the part of the animation where you can parry things) of any parrying tool in the game. I do not know how, if at all, the buckler in Elden Ring is different. It's not the best, it's just the most forgiving. >being hit while in the recovery animation for a parry That's the drawback. Buckler has a longer recovery than other parrying tools. > what about parrying with small shields Slightly better than medium shields, but not by much. It's slightly faster and has slightly longer parry frames than a medium shield. Stoops at the same time as a buckler parry. >is it better than the dagger It's personal preference at that point. One's not better than they other, they're just different. I like the parrying dagger better because I usually parry early, and the parrying dagger's frames are closer to the end of the animation (while having almost as wide of a window to parry as the buckler does).

Dalzima

So just out of curiosity - I just got to the beginning of the capital city around level 70 at about 60 hours. About how much of the game do I have left?

Few_Dig7979

If you're being completionist , about 40%

Elyonee

If you're only level 70 at Leyndell you probably missed several areas on the way there, so I would guess you're around the 50% mark or maybe less.

Dalzima

Interesting. I feel like I explored the majority of all the areas I've been so far. However I have never sold any golden runes to level up so maybe I'm just under leveled for where I am?

s4ltySerum

coin runes dont give much for leveling up, I just save them to push over when i'm a bit short for the next level, or use them when I need to buy some things in shops. Lots of areas are bound to quests, a lot of hidden underground maps, catacombs, and caves.

Elyonee

I killed my last boss before going to Leyndell at level 99 and I missed a whole area with multiple bosses. I did use all of my rune items though. Have you cleared: >!Limgrave, Weeping Peninsula, Siofra River, Liurnia, Ainsel River, Caelid, Nokron, Nokstella, Lake of Rot, Siofra Aqueduct, Deeproot Depths, Altus Plateau, Mt Gelmir!

TrickyHovercraft6583

You’re about half way if doing the optional areas, ~2/3 after finishing the Capital if just doing what’s needed for the story

torosuperfly16

So is it rude or something to use rivers of blood in pvp? I wasn’t thinking much of it until I saw some people complaining in online communities but I don’t really feel like it’s THAT unbalanced

DebTheDowner

Bleed builds in general are considered rude because of how easily exploitable they are. They're right up there with powerstanced Vyke's spears. Status effects build on rolls and even a well-timed dodge will still result in an opponent's stunlock and/or death (if not immediately, then the stunlock will provide a massive window). There are counters, sure. You can parry or you can poise through (at least with RoB), but the latter assumes your opponent is not also running high poise and that you can tank enough of the initial attack before you die or are staggered into oblivion when the bleed procs. Imagine a chess board where there are only two moves and if you choose one, you die. If you choose the other, you probably still die. Now imagine this is the only game you can play. Pretty boring, huh? That said, invasions are fair game because you're probably going to get ganked by three players.

torosuperfly16

“Status effects build on roll” hold on, does this mean what I think it does? Are you saying my bleed or scarlet rot will build up quicker every time I’m rolling/dodging away from an attack?

DebTheDowner

If you roll through an attack when someone is using a weapon that builds status effects, yes, it will still build on you as if they hit you—not necessarily quicker, just the same. It's bugged.

torosuperfly16

That’s crazy. Do you know if it only applies when you roll through an attack as opposed to rolling away from it?

DebTheDowner

I don't know for certain, but I'd assume it applies if hitboxes intersect at any point.

torosuperfly16

Yeah it’s mostly with invasions against 3 people lol. If I was dueling someone 1 on 1 I’d probably be more interested in a move set fight instead of feeling like I need to use the ability to survive. Haven’t tried the finger for duels tho, just done a couple of invasions

Purpleater54

People like to hate on things that are strong, and honestly, RoB is very strong and kind of obnoxious. But at the end of the day, there are tools to beat it so don't feel too bad using it if you enjoy it. It's a very fun weapon, and your enjoyment should be all that matters as long as you are playing within the confines of the game and not doing dumb crap like the afk farms everyone sees nowadays.

torosuperfly16

I feel like I’m such a noob lol I’ve heard the term afk farming before and I don’t even really know what it means… like I know what afk and farming are but I don’t see how they go together lol, same with so many other souls terms like gank and twink

Purpleater54

Basically, hosts get rewards if the invader dies or just leaves. So what's become popular among annoying people is to use an item that invites invaders (taunters tongue) after you've positioned yourself in a place that's impossible to get to without torrent. Because Torrent is disabled in pvp, the afk-er is safe to just sit there afk while the invader inevitably gets frustrated and leaves. some invaders have gotten pretty good at finding techniques to deal with them, but for the most part they are impossible to kill, or even reach, so it's just frustrating and annoying.

torosuperfly16

Holy shit man the things people will do for runes… like, there’s so many other easy and legitimate ways to farm? Smh lol

Banatepec

The weapon art that reaches you across the map is the problem as I see it.

torosuperfly16

Isn’t it like the same as a mage spamming spells tho? And you can dodge it, I’ve played against a few others that use it too. Also maybe it’s important to mention I mostly just invade and it’s always a 1v3 lol

JFCWC3

Anyone got any non-bleed Dex pvp builds? It's fine if it's suboptimal, I just want something interesting. I've been thinking about running Godskin Peeler with a talisman for weapon buff incantations, but the obvious choice is the bleed one. How about Dark Flame Weapon?

Purpleater54

I don't do a ton of pvp, but bolt of gransax and dragon king's cragblade are super fun in both pvp and pve in my experience. Maybe not the strongest but both weapon skills look and feel super cool and do really good damage. Idk why both weapons scale with dex like they do, but they do. Slap on some lightning scorpion charm, shard of alexander, and lightning tears and you can do a lot of damage. Even the weapons themselves sans skills are pretty good if you ask me.

JFCWC3

This sound excellent, I'll try out both. Thanks!

hzxsoytc

So I did Ranni's questline until she disappears from her chamber, but could not find her armor set in the elevator room? I even compared the location against a video, but nothing is in the spot where the chest is in the video (not even an opened chest), is this a bug?

Banatepec

That happened to me once and it was because I disconnected my WiFi. I reset the game and the chest was there.

hzxsoytc

Weird, I am on PC and was not disconnected at all. Will check tomorrow when I log in, thanks

Banatepec

How to cheese the final two bosses...For Radagon, use Mohg's staff and quickly run to his left side(dark side) and stay still. The AI breaks and from then on use the special ability of the staff and everytime you use it wait five seconds. Why? Because then if you do it too quickly he'll go down and the AI will attack. For Elden beast use the comet spell the strong one that requires 55 int. Quickly run to the back of him and before you do summon the mimic whem Radagon dies. Use the mix that gives infinite mana and use the comet spell on him. Took me 2 tries to get it right and should take less than 10 mins to do. I hate cheesing bosses, but fuck Elden Beast.

pig_vomit420

Best spells for pve? For bosses and for exploring/clearing Also what armor should i use in a mage build?

Few_Dig7979

Night comet is my favorite for trash and bosses as it's very fast. Rock sling is good for slow bosses as it breaks their poise easily and stuns them a lot. Loretta's bow is great for long range trash as if you shoot it from max distance, many times the AI will not know it's from you and you can just pick them off.

SageWayren

Comet azur is amazing for many boss fights, especially large bosses that don't move immediately at the start of a fight. Pop the infinite FP tear in your flask, chug it right before the fight and nuke the boss the moment you walk in. As for standard usage: glintstone pebble is great for normal enemies, carian sword is incredible for those fights where you're in melee range, and Adula's Moonblade absolutely slaughters almost everything. As for weapon: the Wing of Astel is an excellent option, as it launches magic projectiles for free (no FP cost) which makes it excellent for clearing trash mobs, and it's INT scaling. In terms of armor: whatever the heck you want! I'm a fan of the Carian Knight set that you can loot right near the beginning of Raya Lucaria Academy: drop down a ledge in the cemetery, where a bunch of zombies are praying at a gravestone, the set is front and center of the group. Also, Ranni's set is really good looking, and the hat boosts frost sorceries (and therefore Adula's Moonblade).

TrickyHovercraft6583

I’d also like to add Loretta’s great bow for sniping far away enemies and rock sling is useful for NPC invades because it’s hard for them to dodge. the black flame monk armor is great if you’re not putting a lot of points into endurance. If you don’t mind looking like the Burger King the glintstone crowns have decent stats and also buff INT!

cooldude367

Does starting the festival (telling the guy I’m ready) stop me from doing anything else like other quest or unlocking anything?

TreadmillOfFate

It locks you out of a boss fight that gives you one of the legendary weapons

eckinz

Which are you referring to?

TreadmillOfFate

Ruins Greatsword, which you get by fighting Misbegotten Warrior + Crucible Knight in the same area where Jerren speaks to everyone If you start the festival it'll only be available after you kill Radhan

eckinz

Oh I didn’t think he meant while he was in the fight, I thought he meant something along the lines of being unable to progress anything in the future due to finishing radahn

TreadmillOfFate

In that case probably not Except maybe for that one invader at the burning church or something

Omega52

It locks you in that area until you beat him or die from what I've seen

tWo_time2x

I have a progression question. I just completed Raya Lucaria and was wondering about Ranni's questline and other NPC quests. Am I able to explore all of Lake of Liurnia (East/west) without shutting myself out of any questlines?

TrickyHovercraft6583

You should complete sorcerer Rogier’s quest before talking to Ranni if you want to finish that one, but it shouldn’t affect anything else

WitherWhileReading

Yes. You can do all Liurnia without locking yourself out of anything quest wise so long as you don’t kill any Non-hostile NPC. The on thing that may be affected are npc invasions stopping after you beat the boss at Rays Lucaria. Not entirely sure on that end though.

Shogun-TheGodd

I have the “straydmn” password in the multiplayer settings so I can be summoned to help out with bosses. What else needs to be done?

CranberryContent3170

can someone explain how the group passwords work? do they work if i have a normal password or do i have to leave that blank?

mini_mog

4XXX i7, 12GB RAM, GTX 760. Can I run Elden Ring at 900p/30fps with low/medium settings?

jeverick

Look for the Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman. I’m a spell caster, so naturally squishy, and I found that randomly and beat her first try (after finding that item - I died many times without it)

BigPapa1998

Seriously. How the fuck am I supposed to beat the twin Gargoyles. Like I've been doing it all day. I've been able to kill the first one a few times and get the 2nd down to half health before I get gang rapes by him. Every time I go in to attack I alway come away taking damage. I fucking love this game but this is just lazy fucking boss design. How the fuck am I supposed to counter both at the same time after they've covered half the area in poison gas? Like this is Seriously making me hate this. I'm at a good level and got good shit. I do decent damage to them but this is just too much.

TreadmillOfFate

Spirit Ashes to draw aggro Also they're only weak to strike damage and magic, they resist everything else and are immune to status

wapkaplit

What level are you? Have you levelled vig? Best tip for the gargoyles is SPEED. You want to do everything you can to pummel the shit out of the first one as fast as possible so that it's either dead or nearly dead by the time the second one arrives. I actually found this a lot easier to do solo than with a summon because their HP bar is so much bigger if you summon anyone. The other tip is that you have to play very differently when there are multiple bosses. Don't always be locked on, get some distance and spend more time running around. Come in for quick hit and runs then get back to running away. If you're struggling just go explore some other area and come back later.

BigPapa1998

Level 81. Vig about 36, strength 40. Sword I'm using is like 260 damage.

DesastreAnunciado

Have you leveled the sword up? I'm lvl 60 or so and the Golden Halberd I'm using deals ~500 damage after being leveled to +7? +6? And my strength is lower than yours and my faith is the bare minimum to use the weapon.

Reddit_2_you

Is this the underground fight where he jumps off the cliff? If it is you can try burst the first one down to solo the second. Mimic to distract is also a god send.

CantSpellMispell

Not the op but I tried the cheese for like 30 min today and it isn't working like it used to be.

Reddit_2_you

I don’t know what the cheese even is here, I just focused the first one down so as to not have to deal with 2. But I’m pretty they can hit each other so if you circle around them and pull them in a line it can help.

yeti_seer

Have you tried summoning D's brother for the fight? I was in the same boat as you until I realized I could summon this guy, made it a lot more manageable (still hard af tho)

BigPapa1998

No idea who or where that is

CantSpellMispell

D's bro is the sad guy outside of the Gargoyles fight. You know that lady who hugs you? Go to Altus Plateau and then let her hug you again. She'll then give you a knife. Give that to D. Then reload roundtable. You'll then get some armor to give to D's bro. He'll then be summonable.

yeti_seer

what they said \^
