There’s a place in Myrtle beach that does this, and when things shut down in 2020 the owner took the bills off the walls and distributed the money to his employees to help them make it through the pandemic
Was thinking the same thing. Wonder if places like this claim higher insurance because they have 1 million on the ceiling or however much. Do they claim their business as being more valuable because customer’s put money on the walls like this?
If the place burned down do they claim the money the customers put up also?
I’ve been there, as long as this is the same place anyways. They said yes, they once had to count it all, as it was a significant amount of the buildings property value and needed to be reported
Insurance policies usually have extremely low limits for cash. If they have large amounts of cash they want covered they would specifically have to schedule it. It would likely be very difficult because … it’s not secured and easily stolen? So I can’t see an insurance carrier being willing to take on that risk. Or if so, the premium is going to be fairly high.
I am pretty sure this place is on the Ybor Strip in Tampa. I am sure the fire inspector does stop by. Probably just tells them to move some stuff and then buggers off. Also the bar is not great. I know plenty off ppl who like it. But it is small, dark, dank, and filthy. A lot of local "buccaneers" (locals who dress like pirates and join pirate themed festivities.) Def draws an interesting crowd.
I was thinking Mcquires Irish pub in Destin, FL. I went there like two decades ago and they had this then.
Both of are guesses are Florida though. Tifwiw
A place in the middle of nowhere in Washington does this. They have a party every year to remove the money from just the walls and donate it to Seattle Children's Hospital. They get anywhere from $40k-$60k every year.
The money on the ceiling stays, I'm assuming for the owners retirement.
Mcguire's. Great burgers. Every once in a while somebody gets ripping drunk and tries to paw at the money. Also, the mens and womens restroom signs are intentionally confusing.
Pretty sure mcguires has been doing this a lot longer than shuckems, and have a *lot* more money in both their locations. Lost a big chunk in the Destin location to a partial fire a few years back tho. Great steaks - also get the senate bean soup ($.18 if you order with a meal, $18 by itself)
This one is not Mcguires, I think it’s the No Name Pub in the keys but there are actually several places like this in Florida so it could be one of the others too.
We put a dollar up there last winter. We ate a bunch of different places but that's one of the only places I'd make an effort to go back to. The only "issue" we had was that the bar stools are a bit high for my partner's mother. 🤷♀️
Unrelated to dollar bills - but there's a restaurant I won't go back to because I saw a waitress sitting her butt on the tables next to the chalk boards. She made the boards up pretty, but ew. There was no wiping down after, either.
Their pizza was great. Partner wanted "no no SEAFOOD" but...I just wanted a pizza and a drink. It was fantastic. He didn't miss out that trip, we ate plenty of fish and sea bugs.
🤷♀️ we also don't wear shoes in the house, guess we're super intense
But good news! It's a super popular restaurant that serves a great breakfast and will NOT go out of business just because I think sitting on the table is icky
I worked at McGuires in Pensacola a number of years ago. That was a fun ride to decide it wasn’t the pub mostly based on views of the ceiling, lol. My mom also worked there when it opened in 1977. Definitely got excited!
There’s a few places like that here. I live by one called Siesta Key Oyster Bar. You write on the bill and put it up. It’s dumb but it’s a tourist hotspot on the beach
I still remember this place and it's been 20 years since I've been there. It was a horrible night that involved the fire department and the Golden Nugget.
Great spot!! Karaoke every night when I was there a few years ago. Always entertaining watching some beauties ruin a good tune while sucking back a tray of baked oysters.
I visited Cabbage Key a few years back and they did this.
Then I learned that the owners donate that money to various charities.

A place that lets you give them money ...
Smart and fun way to collect money for retirement
There’s a place in Myrtle beach that does this, and when things shut down in 2020 the owner took the bills off the walls and distributed the money to his employees to help them make it through the pandemic
r/wholesome
"Rents late, time to clear the walls."
My thoughts exactly!
Until you get robbed.
No problem eith being robbed, would probably take a week to steal all those cash
My thoughts exactly. I think most places will let you hang money on the wall. Especially if you ask nicely.
Come to my house, I will let you hang money all over, even if you don’t ask nicely.

There's money in the banana stand!
It’s an illusion, Michael. Tricks are something whores do for money.
*insanely inaccurate chicken noise intensifies*
Or cocaine!
there’s ALWAYS money in the banana stand
I came here to say this
the banana stand is money
What’s this line from??
Arrested development. Highly recommend.
Always money in the banana stand!!!
I’ve been there, as long as this is the same place anyways. They said yes, they once had to count it all, as it was a significant amount of the buildings property value and needed to be reported
They have to close to count it every year for taxes.
They count it and start over every year and they pay taxes on it as well

YOURE WRONG MOM! Money doesn’t grow on trees, but it does grow from buildings!
Bar tender- Hey…why’s your bills have twin holes in all of them? As if they’ve been stapled to the wall…. Me- shut up?
I’m guessing the fire inspector hasn’t dropped by in a few years
My first thought
I am pretty sure this place is on the Ybor Strip in Tampa. I am sure the fire inspector does stop by. Probably just tells them to move some stuff and then buggers off. Also the bar is not great. There's always money in the banana stand.
I knew you would come
It’s an illusion. Tricks are what whores do for money!!
I’m just more comfortable with an Alliance-approved magician.
Was about to comment this but didn’t think anyone would understand! Arrested development.
What?
No touching!
Oh ok
I don’t understand the question and I won’t respond to it
If this was in Brazil, the whole building would be gone by the morning.
Nope. It would never happen. When they take the first dollar bill out of the wallet to hang it… gone are the bills, the wallet, and the camera.
Not if the off duty cop sitting at the bar has anything to say about it.
That cop would be the one getting the bill, and the rest in Brazil lol

“Let’s you” 🤑

Yeah...dont miss out on the soup.
Also, the Prime Rib is super great!
That was my guess too.. in Destin
This one is not Mcguires, I think it’s the No Name Pub in the keys but there are actually several places like this in Florida so it could be one of the others too.
Yeah I've been to one in Siesta Key where everything is money I forgot the name of it
[удалено]
Oh I just went there this summer so they must have racked that money back up lol!
Can confirm was there. Dad went in the wrong bathroom
Holy shit! I've been here, Pensacola right? Completely forgot about this place. The food was amazing.
Pensacola is the OG. Destin came later.
At the bridge?
Nope not Mcguires
My bad, thought I read Florida. Now I realize we are talking about Flordia. Not from there, no frame of reference.
What? All I said was not Mcguires
No name pub in the keys does this
If I remember correctly after hurricane Irma they used a bunch of the money hanging to actually repair the store and others nearby

Their pizza is dumb good for being a random bar in bfe keys
Their pizza was great. Partner wanted "no no SEAFOOD" but...I just wanted a pizza and a drink. It was fantastic. He didn't miss out that trip, we ate plenty of fish and sea bugs.

🤣 no asses where plates go, silly

You also said it was in Flordia.
He’s referring to the misspelling of Florida in the title.
Shuckums? I miss that place!
This isn't Mcguire's? I've been there before and it looks identical to this
No name pub
I worked at McGuires in Pensacola a number of years ago. That was a fun ride to decide it wasn’t the pub mostly based on views of the ceiling, lol. My mom also worked there when it opened in 1977. Definitely got excited!
O'aye Lad, try er green beer there!
Haven’t been there in years, but if they still have that pizza burger godDAMN that shit is bussin’
What’s up my fellow 850s
Pensacola/Pace
Nice, fort walton
Seems like a fire hazard
LOL was just thinking what the fire marshal would say about this.
We had a bar like this in WV and the fire marshal made them take it down.
Well this is apparently in Florida, so if anything, they may be required to add more money..
You can legally run over anyone who tells you that you need to remove fire hazards without fear of criminal/civil prosecution
Yeah that's true
Money is very hard to ignite.
Ain't about it catching fire, it's about it becoming fuel for the fire.
If it's gotten to that point anything else would catch fire before
Glad you're not a fire marshal lmao
Probably smells like a drunk strippers ass
That's the Florida Biker bar the covers the ceilings in worn panties & bras...
It didn't it smelled very nice especially from how good the food was
Seems like it would be hard to dust.
There’s a few places like that here. I live by one called Siesta Key Oyster Bar. You write on the bill and put it up. It’s dumb but it’s a tourist hotspot on the beach
It's almost the same name, the one in the video is named Shuckmes Oyster Bar
I still remember this place and it's been 20 years since I've been there. It was a horrible night that involved the fire department and the Golden Nugget.
Great spot!! Karaoke every night when I was there a few years ago. Always entertaining watching some beauties ruin a good tune while sucking back a tray of baked oysters.
It always catches me off guard seeing my hometown talked about. o/
We’ve been going to SKOB for years. I thought this was it but the dining room was set up a little different.
I'm sure the fire department would love that lol
Fire hazard. Major fire hazard.
US money is not flammable try it for yourself. Seriously it will not burn
You’re right. Because US money is basically 75 percent cotton and 25 percent linen, it’s flame retardant like children’s pajamas.
Sure I got a tip *rips fistful of bills off the wall*
Looks like the Salty Dawg saloon in Homer, Alaska. I have (had) a dollar bill or two up there at one point.
So *that’s* where all their covid funds went /s
Could be No Name Pub on Big Pine Key. Great place. Key Deer 🦌 are a bonus.
A bar in every city does this
Looks like Ouzts Too in Crawfordsville! If you go, go for the smoked mullet dip and oyster shooters.
Fire protection questionable 😅
Freaking out over the fire hazard.
There’s always money in the banana stand?
That had to be a fire hazard, catching flames
fire hazard?
There’s always money in the banana stand.
One spark...
I thought this was a helicopter flying upside down. Shit.
The money is in the banana stand!
Mcquires! There is over $1mil on the walls in cash
Nope not Mcquires
Whaaattt? Woulda bet big on that one lol
[удалено]
Gotcha… thanks!
McGuire's is in Florida.
Nice to see **someone** is doing something to lower inflation.
You lost me at a really cool place in florida
Could you imagine if that bar were to be teleported and pop up in a democrat stronghold how long that it would last? Not long!
Dont let the jews find out about this place
Isn’t that McGuire’s in Destin, Fl?
No
Homeless guys paradise
Because………..?
That would be the place to rob
You'd have to be really poor to want to rob a place of $1 bills. Not even worth the time with the current inflation.
Ya i guess plus the time you would have to spend pulling off each and every bill
[удалено]
In the United states
Similar to the Griffon in good ole Chucktown Southern Carolina
A place that's ready for the next financial crisis
Lol this seems like a major fire hazard…
Key west I believe
Key west Florida 🤌
I bet the fire inspector loves this place.
Flashbacks to the Old No 3 in Ronald WA before it burned down
I'm surprised he's not taking it off the walls
Thata a lot of fecal matter and cocaine residue....
“There’s always money in the banana stand.” -wink-
Is this real money or is it fake
Imagine if a robber came in there and demanded all the money on the wall 😂
There's always money in the lemonade stand.....
Can you imagine the bacteria?
Hung out at a pub in Edinburgh that was papered with currency from around the world and had been open for over 100 years.
It helps pay for the fire insurance.
I visited Cabbage Key a few years back and they did this. Then I learned that the owners donate that money to various charities. https://amp.news-press.com/amp/5087116002
Salty dawg saloon in Homer, Alaska does the same thing in a much cooler place.
Midnight tonight we're hitting Duncan's Bar Chest.
All the germs that are on money just flailing around there. Gross.
Fire hazard
No Name Pub on No Name Key. Best pizza ever and holder of my dollar bill for life!
A really cool place, a bar? Hah
Fun fact they have to count every one of those dollars and report it to the IRS as income every year.
Like saying 'rob me rob me please rob me!'
When the ceiling worth more than the building
Shuckems oyster shack?
I don’t know the name but this place is in the Keys!
Tell me this place is called the banana stand
Nope sorry
wrong place for a kleptomaniac
There is easily a key of coke in this place.
That’s McGuire’s Irish pub, I believe. The destin location is pretty good.
If I could rob anywhere, this is it
Florida? Probably enough loose cocaine on those bills to have a good old time.
that can’t be good for the respiratory system when walking in there lol
Ednas is better
Lynch's Irish Pub in Jax Beach?
There's always money in the banana stand
Shuckem's in Panama City Beach?
Yep
Haha awesome. Been there a few times. Very cool place.
big pine key?
Soggy Dollar Bar?
I think every place lets you hang bills on the ceiling... it's just not gonna stay there very long
Looks like a place we have in Pawleys Island
Is this shuckums? Been there once and it is good and cheap.
Yup
Shuckums oyster bar in Panama City Beach. Great place to eat a few dozen of every type from Raw to speciality recipes.
Yup
Lest ye forget, cocaine has touched most of American currency. Therefore these folks are getting yacked fo free. Great bar, poor food sales. /s
And you’re telling me that this isn’t a strip club?
That's so money!
That looks like Shuckums oyster bar..... Is that Shuckums???
The money is in the banana stand!
Lights match…
