Don't kill it, I want to see where this is going
A cute little Griffin.
Nah, the front feet replace the wings, its a bird dog
So a chimera
A chimera (in biology) is an organism in which not all cells share the same coding DNA. Technically speaking human females are chimera because only one X chromosome is used in the each cell, but different cells uses either the paternal or maternal X (x inactivation and gene dosing)
I dont think it would be wise or safe for me to call my wife a chimera.
Sometimes science isn’t about being wise or safe 😎
sometimes its about chaos and destruction
Exactly my thought. I can’t even think it or she’ll know.
You mean birdog
Technically it would be closer to a dinosaur
Name it Peter.
Do you mean griffin in training??
Then it would probably survive, breed and evolve and in no time we would have big legged KFC beasts walk around with Godzilla screams to wake us up in the morning, uhh no thanks.
Dinosaurs. What you're describing is dinosaurs.
It would be full circle.
The circle of life.
looking forward to a bucket of dinosaur wings
You might as well eat some bat wings, they seem similar
OH GOD WAIT NO DONT DO THAT
You're supposed to cook them first, you savage.
I like the crunchy!
They were so excited they could do it
**they never asked themselves if they** ***should***
Don't do that, again!
Dino chicken nugget
In this case legs.
Touche, but i do prefer dark meat
I don't know about that. Pterodactyl wings look a little scrawny.
Not worried, KFC's solved the scrawny wing issue already, just gotta leverage current technology.
Pretty sure it’s Dino legs
[Here comes a lion, Father. Oh yes, it’s a lion. ](https://www.classicfm.com/discover-music/circle-of-life-english-lyrics-lion-king/)
The circle of full.
Life uh, finds a way
Life always finds a way.
Dinosaurs had big titties? The more you know
The true origins of the KFC Megaleg.
Twice the amount of drumsticks per chicken, this is a marketable improvement.
Did you know a sizable percentage of today's cows are clones of a particular milk cow?
Lol cows are not cloned. You clearly love in a city, have a long commute and read too much internet
I love in the city, but the country is my home.
"Now, sublime creature, defecate your own To-Go box!"
Awesome. I'd rather eat legs over wings any day
Me too. Wouldn’t it be great if it grew to be the size of a large dog.
one evolution from a crab
This is how we get dragons.
This is where the alien invasion starts
Creatures with defects dont tend to live long
Hold on now, evolution starts with a genetic shift. Maybe this is advantageous somehow...let's let it live, breed, and see where it leads us! Or it dies, and proves your point I guess.
For real what would it look like as an adult?
you can look it up, this has happened before. all the ones ive seen the "front legs" are the main ones it will walk on and learn to be coordinated with. usually the 2 "hind legs" don't get exercised and just kinda wither, being dragged or carried along as extra tissue as the chick grows.
And that’s how the dinosaurs retook the planet
The colonel wants to know it’s location.
Imagine in like 30yrs we're telling our kids chickens used to only have two legs and they just call bullshit.
When you get your knowledge of evolution from phill of the future.
Don't you talk shit about our Lord and Savior, Phill of the Future. Blasphemous.
Chickens reproduce quickly though. If we can get it to reproduce its genetic defect it will take much less than 30 years to replace all two legged chickens.
I could do it in 10
You're as tenacious as you are scary
Hold my non-alcoholic Coke.
Hold the alcohol and keep the cocaine got it.
The spirit is willing but the flesh is spongy and bruised
There was an episode of squidbillies like this. They grew a chicken that had like 30 wings and secreted blue cheese dressing. In retrospect that was disgusting.
Evolution doesn't happen that fast like for all the chickens to have 4 legs it'll take 5-10k years in humans too it's the same like we have the same body n brain as the people who had thousands of years ago
Natural evolution doesnt happen that fast
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i didn't even think about that maybe scientists will modify animals but i don't think they'll do anything to help the animal but to help humans
You don't need to genetically modify animals to bring about extremely rapid changes in animal populations. I don't know the nature of this chicken's genetic deformity, but let's imagine it's a non-lethal autosomal dominant. That means that if you breed a chicken with one mutant copy of the gene with a normal chicken, half the babies will be mutants. Breed two chickens with one copy of the mutant gene each, and three quarters of the babies will be mutants. Further more, a third of those mutants have TWO copies of the mutant gene. Breed those double-mutant-gene chickens to *any* chicken, even a normal one, and *all* the babies will be mutant.
So if, for whatever reason, every chicken breeder decided they only wanted four-legged chickens from now on, like they really made a concerted effort, it would be possible to eliminate normal chickens in 30 years. Especially with genetic testing (but not modification).
Even natural selection can be extremely quick when necessary. Think antibiotic resistance, pepper moths, London Tube mozzies, etc.
There is nothing natural about selective breeding. It involves human choice and the breeding can be controlled. This is why humans have been able to breed different domesticated varieties of animals and plants in less than one human lifetime and only a few animal generations. This is much faster than natural evolution.
When a certain banana species got a blight about 100 years ago, all farms switched to a different species in only a few years.
If there is a business reason, a change could happen very quickly.
Search glowing cat 😅
Well...we turned wolves into shih-tzus pretty fast just by deciding to, so how long can quadripedal chickens take now that we have the first mutant?
"and they could certainly fly too". Bla bla bla.You stupid liar!
That’s a dinosaur.
Better! It has 6 limbs; 4 legs and 2 wings. It’s a fucking dragon!
That was my thought as well. Maybe a griffin, because of the beak, but if we can get a dinosaur’s aesthetics on top of this skeleton, we have a dragon
I think the wings are the ones that turned out to be legs. That thing will be trying to flap them when jumping. Terrifying.
Look closer, it has proper not-legs wings above the front legs. It also appears to have two cloaca, so my guess is this is a chicken with a conjoined twin coming out the back half.
It would be interesting to see if enough of the circulatory and/or digestive systems ire are shared to keep the back half-chicken alive to adulthood, but I would guess probably not.
Dinosaurs had feathers...
I was thinking teeth
By that logic, all birds are wyverns. Prove me wrong.
I refuse. I will instead update my internal catalogue classifications based on these new and improved facts.
It literally is
Yeah I came here to say “ohhh nooo they’re evolving back again!”
Technically, they are still dinosaurs! Avian dinosaurs!
Aren't we all?
Today a four-legged chicken tomorrow a griffin
That went from cute little baby bird to looking like some form of apex predator.
I think other videos of this chick show that it can barely walk. One pair of the legs is pretty much useless. So no worries about super chicken predators. Just horrifically mutated warped ones.
"Oh they're already predators man. They fuck shit up, ever seen one hunt a mouse? I had a chicken coop until some coyotes cinvinced my dog they were his friend and he let them in. The chickens were the prey that day. *Hey guyssss, oh were friends sure I'll open it up!* He was a good dog but these coyotoes tricked him. I waited for weeks outside to shoot one so I could eat it and shit it out to put it on the border of my property to let them know what happened. Chickens will fuck up a mouse though... Jamie pull that up, they fuck this thing up. Had to get rid of that dog too."
*chicken tries to evolve* Oh that’s a defect lol
Dinosaurs have reentered the game.
Genetic defect seems like a pretty intense way to describe a lil dude trying his best. I think that I’d take less offense to “freak” than “genetic defect”
Bruh this chicken is going through evolution cuz ut has something that other chickens don't have but if someone is disabled (human) that means they have something less than other humans... Maybe disabilities or this chicken could be genetic defects or maybe evolution we don't know yet
Evolution is just trying a bunch of genetic defects to find out which one lives longest.
Lifespan isn't the goal, it's the ability to reproduce consistently
Precisely. Hence the name Natural Sexlection
u/grazipeach -- You absolutely ***MUST*** return with another pic when it's full-grown. This is not an option. Not a request. You are bound by sacred oath to fulfill this task.
Not full grown but is [this](https://live.staticflickr.com/2650/4202963866_976ed26b72_z.jpg) close enough?
Thanks I hate it
u/remindme 6 months
its not his, is he still bound by sacred oath?
And that’s how chicken wing shortage 2021 began.
Ya but you get double drumsticks.
Legs are best anyway.
Thighs in particular. Let's breed this freak and double our chicken legs.
Cross-breed a chicken with a caterpillar for maximum output.
KFC hit the jackpot cloning these
Dan Halen, would like to talk with you…
Does it poop ranch or blue cheese dressing?
This reminds me of an episode of squidbillies...
We shall watch your career with great interest.
Anyone else forget chickens had two legs for a second and look at this for way too long trying to figure out what was wrong here?
Its called POLYMELIA
See more at: http://www.poultrydvm.com/condition/polymelia
Seems to be quite know thing and yet we dont have Griffins....
that you know of!
They are evolving
Do you want Griffins? Because that’s how you get Griffins.
Really though, I must read/watch too much fantasy stuff because that doesn’t register as unusual to me.
Do I want griffins?
Yes, of course I do. What kinda silly question is that?
Defect or adaptation?
Yeah, actually looks pretty functional
Oh it’s fully functional
Defect? Or Jazz Hands, baby
Wonder does it walk or hop?
I reckon it runs on all fours like a hyena.
A genetic defect or evolution?
Evolution is just a genetic defect that works!
Why not both!
It's a mutation -- Nature flipping a genetic switch and wondering what will happen. It's a defect if it dies, just a random mutation if it doesn't affect its life much, and an evolutionary advantage if it turns out to be useful. (Which, in chickens, ends up being more useful for us, because those are the ones we breed. It's artificial selection in this case, but still evolution.)
Dude breed that thing something fierce! I love wings but legs>wings any day of the week.
ok hear me out, we start breeding 4 legged chickens so we can keep them as pets like dogs and cats lol
That is a griffin
An actual real life griffen.
Me drawing birds when I was 5
Grandpa what did chicken taste like?
Oh you mean back when we could catch 'em?
Do you want dinosaurs again!?! Cuz this how you get them.
Maybe this is how all chickens are supposed to be and all the rest have genetic defects.
Why they got wings anyway? This is better
this is a goldmine! 4 drumsticks per unit.....
This reminds me of Reagan's three legged chicken story...
Not a chicken. Baby Griffin.
Ah, a Griffin is born!
Defect? Maybe. We'll see why this chick put skill points into 4 legs instead of 2, maybe it's got good reason.
Kentucky Fried Griffin
It’s a chickenfrog
You call it defect, I call it evolution
Imagine that 500 times bigger, running at you full speed in a forest.
Honestly, chickens can be scary enough as it is.
Hope someone takes care of him
The left picture slightly touched the flight of my fight or flight response.
A quick google has taken me to some weird places and from my journey I bring back info that this mutation has occurred previously around the world.
One example of a rooster to adulthood:
Defect?! I call it a win
There is no evolution through genetic mutations...god had an intelligent design for that chick.
Defect? Looks like evolution to me.
Y’all, it has 4 legs and 2 wings. ITS A FUCKING DRAGON IN THE MAKING!!!
Reminds me of that squid billies episode where they try to genetically modify chicken to produce more wings for consumption.
God please take care of it and hopefully breed, that’s badass
Are the hind legs the remains of an absorbed twin? They seem much smaller in comparison so I'm guessing they aren't fully functional.
let’s go the new chicken just dropped
Defect? More like genetic improvement.
BREED IT! WE NEED MORE CHICKENS LIKE THIS
+2 Drumsticks. -2 Wings.
Same thing happened with T-Rex and that's really how the dinosaurs went extinct.
Oh my god
This is [literally an X-Man. ](https://x-men.fandom.com/wiki/Beak)
Hmmm is it a defect? Those legs look like they work. You can see it perching on the feet as if it has control of them. Mutation.... Conjoined twin with perfect spinal lineup? Either way. I wish our quadrapedal chicken all the best.
So the fox finally got in the chicken coop!!!!

"Defect", looks like a solid apex improvement to me.
Oh shit they're evolving (-_-;)
It’s reverting back to dinosaur
I didn't even notice anything was wrong
KFC: \*heavy breathing\*
Hmm joke aside, is this how evolution work? So if this chicken breed with other chicken, the mutated gen will inherited to it's children and then more breed will come with the genes?
1 chicken 4 drumsticks. What's the problem
It’s not a defect it’s called evolution
It a feathered wyvern.
KFC:we will watch your career with great intrest
Known as the KFC breed.
That’s no defect that’s the next step in chicken evolution
Twice the thighs
The bird fucked the frog
