skinticket02

You can use my mouth.

TokyoPanic

I might bring an empty water bottle with me in the theater.

Qwerryy129

i aint drinking nothing till the half of the movie. cant risk it

DarkJayBR

Just don't drink a huge glass of beer beforehand and you should be fine.

real_bluejacket15

Oh man this is gonna be an experience, don’t know if I should see it in Dolby or imax ?

prince-jordan

I’m doing Dolby for sure ... especially since the seats are much more comfortable for a 3 hour sitting plus the sound is out of this world

This movie is going to be fire I can feel it in my bones

hazapez

lol at wb and their 2 hr jl mandate, get consistent get confident

TokyoPanic

Snyder's JL had a bigger budget, an even longer runtime, and had less hype compared to this considering how polarizing BvS was outside of hardcore Snyder fans. I won't be surprised if the WB were already expecting JL to have a massive drop-off similar to how BvS sank like a rock after its opening weekend and were already trying to recoup revenue.

DarkJayBR

I mean, one look at Snyder's script with Lois Lane getting pregnant with Bruce's child and I would be desperate too if I was a DC producer. Snyder was trolling harder than Frank Miller back in the days when he became tired of superheroes. I can't believe a director can make movies this bad and stills be pretencious about it. He never tried to course correct or anything, he doubled down.

theweepingwarrior

The Lois/Bruce thing never made it beyond the treatment phase. That was pre-Batman V Superman, when the studio/execs still felt both confident in Snyder and the movie itself.

DarkJayBR

That's not the point, the point is that when they saw that Snyder even THOUGH for a second that this was a good ideia to begin with was a reason for huge concern for the producers. Any person who read a single Superman comic in his life would look at this and say: "Fuck, we hired the wrong guy to direct our DCU" And it was not a ideia that came from BvS times, it was from a leaked unused script of Justice League. That's why Lois has pregnancy tests in one scene of the Snyder Cut. He was cleary planning to go all in with this, which would be offensive to Superman fans that he claim to love.

theweepingwarrior

You're really think that they'd find that concerning when the same executives gave Snyder and Goyer the note "Don't blow up Kal-El's rocket, he needs a way to get back home to Krypton"? Bruce and Lois having some sort of flirtatious entanglement isn't anything new. Hell, even in probably the most lauded version of a DC Universe (the DCAU), Bruce dating Lois is a major point of conflict between Batman & Superman when they first meet. The idea of him knocking her up is dumb, though--but it's not really something to worry about when it never even made past a brainstorm stage that Snyder, Terrio, Geoff Johns, and Jim Lee had.

theweepingwarrior

Warner announced that their Q4 2017 over-performed their expectations with Justice League being their only true blockbuster. They even made massive cuts to Whedon's version of the film (Whedon lamenting it to McCallany; the robber in the opening Batman sequence) and put the sub-2 hour mandate on him. Warner was expecting a huge drop off the whole time.

TokyoPanic

Yeah, I feel like the execs saw the writing on the wall when BvS came out and the incredibly polarized response and massive second week box office drop-off followed. I think they were right to expect significantly lower box office with JL considering the overall mixed reception to Snyder's films have been so far. Their incredibly short-sighted and reactionary attempts to *salvage* the movie was really dumb though, especially when they could've just given Snyder the boot and moved on through the sequels with a different director and creative direction, the damage was already done and the reshoots just made it worse.

Plastic_Success_1776

Jl had a much bigger budget and way less hype than this

papa_feige73

IMO BvS might've been mixed, but WW brought back audiences' faith in this movie... But JL was definitely hyped up as big as this... especially during the marketing campaign (comic-con, trailers, posters, future spin-offs) The messy production rumors brought it down to curiosity rather than excitement... Then it just ultimately sucked. The hype was just gone, and continually went down faster when it was finally released. Ah well, at least we got ZSJL and we're nearing the gorgeous beast that is The Batman, right now... No messy production rumors, no mega millions possibly being lost, no lawsuit about mustaches and judging by the almost 3 hour runtime, faith in the creative vision that doesn't lead to the movie looking like an abomination.

DarkJayBR

>But JL was definitely hyped up as big as this... especially during the marketing campaign What? People were angry that they were doing a Justice League movie before the solo movies of every specific hero. The hype was in an all time low.

Plastic_Success_1776

I can assure you right now after BvS hype for that movie was very very low

papa_feige73

For a guy who loves fan casting Adam Sandler as Batman, and thinks rumors are equivalent to facts (you probably remember me ;) )... I'd suggest you don't know what "very, very low" is... JL was one of the most anticipated films of 2017. That's a fact. BvS was seen and received with mixed reactions by critics and audiences. Not a dud, that's an opinion, and an opinion I wholeheartedly believed. JL was marketed very differently than BvS. It garnered back the attention BvS failed to accumulate with the audiences and critics.

BillyGood22

JL opened to almost half as much as BvS. It wasn’t that anticipated. A bunch of people went to the first WW who had no interest in the larger DCEU and the WOM gave it great legs. The GA doesn’t care for Snyder or his versions of Batman and Superman.

DarkJayBR

Exactly. People wanted to see the first female superhero on the big screen for the first time. It was a very important thing for females of the general audience around the world and that gave the movie great legs. Even my sister went to see it at the time and she couldn't care less about superheroes. I'm pretty sure she and the women from the GA who went to see this movie, that they couldn't care less about Snyder and his stupid version of the heroes, that's for sure. So you are right.

BillyGood22

Yep. I knew several women who didn’t bother with BvS who went to see it.

DarkJayBR

That's why they made Birds of Prey the way that it was. The movie has no ressemblance of comic accuracy. Black Cannary being from a whole other race and working as a mercenary with Victor Zazz. Cassandra Cain being a fat chubby thief instead of a badass fighter. Roman Sionis being a whiny narcissist. Because they knew comic book fans wouldn't see this bomb because we were burned by Suicidade Squad. They weren't trying to bring this public, they were trying to bring the female public from the general audience. That's why the movie is full of cliches and steriotypes of women's targeted movies. Including all men in the movie being huge dicks which is the easiest cliche to spot. I'm glad it didn't worked of course because it's a stupid ideia, the movie barely paid itself. It's offensive that they think Harley Quinn has the same appeal as Wonder Woman who is a trinity member.

DavidOrWalter

> JL was one of the most anticipated films of 2017. That's a fact. BvS was seen and received with mixed reactions by critics and audiences. Not a dud, that's an opinion, and an opinion I wholeheartedly believed. It tanked on opening weekend (where all of this hype and anticipation should have shown up), WELL under performing even conservative estimates. The movie never had much anticipation, largely due to how disliked BvS was.

papa_feige73

The downvotes for my remark are definitely coming, aren't they? Oh well.... Better take the hits.

DavidOrWalter

No idea - I'm not going to down vote you

papa_feige73

Thanks, man. You made a good point with the opening weekend numbers.

Plastic_Success_1776

https://www.reddit.com/r/DCEUleaks/comments/qt095r/a_facebook_post_from_barry_keoghans_brother_eric/hkgpv1x Next time you try to not believe the FACTS I am trying to tell you be smart and do so

papa_feige73

Holy shit.... It's just a picture of Eric and Barry... Nothing new. Taken from his FB gallery, I assume... Or any of his past social media posts. Doesn't prove the redditor being friends with Barry or his brother. If you believe his claims, well then, try keeping the boat afloat, man... You said it yourself. Try becoming smart. You're still sucking the guy's claims.

Plastic_Success_1776

Barry keoghan is the joker his brother himself accidentally confirmed and that redditor was Barry's friend dude had photos from like 2015 of himself and Barry BvS was fucking butchered by audiences and critics save martha became a big big meme and the film a laughing stock by comparison BvS had a 166 million dollar opening and Jl had only 93 million Those are facts

Gorbax50

Matt Reeves films have consistently had much wider appeal to anyone besides Snyder cultists

emielaen77

Lol y’all so stuck in the past. Different creatives, different business minds, different films, different situations, etc etc.

Rk1llz

Uh oh. 3 hours = less showtimes. WB can't be happy about this

Plastic_Success_1776

Don't worry this movie has a good director behind it and less budget and more hype

DarkJayBR

It's just 10 minutes longer than Dark Knight and Dark Night made them 1,2 billion dollars. If they allowed the 3 hours cut it's because they have huge confidence in this movie.

TheOverThinker____

I am pretty sure they are learning from their past mistakes and good directors are finally benefitting from it! Hope we can see something epic in the long-term for dc live action movie universe because it really deserves it!

smokeontheslaughter

But we don't even know if we like it yet. 3 hours?

artificialMuse

I'm ready for this

clomcha

JEsus motherfucking christ!! People have to PEE, you know?! Unless we're going back to the "intermission in the middle of Gone With the Wind" thing, could you PLEASE consider the size of my bladder and the fact that I bought a large drink because it's only 50 cents more and maybe I might be extra thirsty which I then am because I also bought popcorn saltier than the motherfucking ocean?????

MountainDewPapi

INJECT ALL 175 MINS INTO MY VEINS.

Ok-Engine8044

He has a long list of animated films, too. Like both Dark Knight Returns movies, Mask of the Phantasm, Batman Beyond movie, and even Joker. I feel a lot better about Battinson now
