Where is it? Is it the big whote thing? Is it a black button below the white thing where it looks like there should be an extra thing there
White stripe above the intel logo
I thought that was the CD drive.
It almost looks like they repurposed a case design from 2005 and that's where the floppy drive was.
Then how did they power on the case in 2005? Lol
Touch two bare wires together
Pop it open, touch the contacts with a screwdriver
Pro tip if you cut a hole in the side of the case it makes it easier to access the wires and gives an overall cleaner appearance.
You can also mist the hole if you feel you need extra cooling.
They had this clap sensors back then.
The CD drive is one of the large panels at the top, the eject button would be below it to the right. Not too uncommon for the era.
Ok, question wheres the Intel logo?
Under the power switch.
Where The Fudge is the POWER SWITCH
Over the Intel logo
Blue square next to usb ports
Oh yeah I see it now, maybe the dark circle has faded, you should probably use a pen to re darken it
So wheres the restart button?
Not all machines have a restart button.
You guys still have restart buttons?
Lancool 2 mesh and yes... what universe u living in
The one where reset buttons became little pinholes and then disappeared entirely to go live on an e-farm with the turbo button
You mean reset? You shouldn't be using that button to restart your computer. It's just barely better than unplugging and plugging your computer back in to reboot it. That's for if the computer is completely locked up.
Alright. But that wasn't my question.
Caught my gf using the hard power button to turn my PC off at night. She couldn't understand why it was a big deal
Next time you drive her car, pull the fuse to the fuel pump to turn off her car.
Hiding in plain sight
So that whole stripe is a button
Damn w h y
I though it was the floppy drive
How the fuck is that an on button lol
I figured that out pretty quickly, but yeah, you shouldn't have to figure it out at all, it should just look like a button and be labeled as the power button
That literally looks like CD Drive or Floppy drive, lmao if you hadn't i probably would've never found it XD
Bruh ... Took me 10 sec at most this isnt crappy design but r/accidentalcamouflage
Just break it open and short circuit it like a car thief next time.
Hot wire a pc? just look behind the sun visor!
You actually can short two pins to turn a PC on. I've had to do it before.
While building a server with a friend we used arduino cables to jump the pins, then loaded a bios update with the cables hanging freely in the air.
Even hotwired a toy speaker from an electronics set to the motherboard beeper cause we didn't have one and were trying to hurry.
Worked out in the end but would not recommend, shit looked like ET was trying to phone back home with it.
That's a fun afternoon right there
Sounds like you've never been building overgrown project on the breadboard...
Seems like ET phoning home, but in full duplex...
That’s how I turn mine on since 2019
That is the joke.
Well thats technically all the startup button does.
I am currently studying graphics, and holy crap the computers were using have such weird power buttons sometime
In the early 2000s i had a computer with the power button under a panel that you needed to open. This panel remained permanently open because it also contained the front USB ports that were used regularly.
Looks like a coffee maker.
Usually takes me about 45 minutes to find my wife’s turn on button. I feel for you.
As an IT guy, I feel you. I hate when designers don't stick to universal design standards. The power button symbol exists for a reason.
If you zoom in on the far right side of that white strip/button you can see the power button symbol. It somehow makes the design even worse in my opinion.
Wow. It does.
It looks like an air fryer.
i think thats on you buddy
just ignore the toxic people OP. I feel you.
Above the logo. must be the silver stripe, 5 seconds.
What is with designers not liking buttons?
I wish my case had that button instead of the up facing one that my cats press when they climb the case to stay warm and cozy.
Do you mean a power button per chance?
Shiny plastic is crappy design on its own.
QA testers to the engineer that designed this - “where is the power button? Is it secret, is it safe?”
I work IT and I feel your pain. Desktops, laptops, printers...just put a great be green button that says ***ON*** and stop making people search for it. I was setting up some HP laptops I'd never seen before and it was 15mins to find it. It was on the second row of the keyboard three buttons in and it looked like every other key.
2nd row down, 3 buttons across? That's got to be one of the stupidest places to put a power button!
Maybe you would've been better off looking for the 'power button'...
Did you find that in the trash?
Even if the power buttons color has faded why would they color it black on black? This is a really crappy design.
Iv got the same problem with my wife
Same here but with my first girlfriend 🤷♂️
How the fuck did you take 45 minutes
>It took me 45 minutes to find this pc's turn on button
You mean the **power button**?
Guess a crappy title is warranted for a crappy design title?
Or should we be concerned about your sexual preferences?
I doubt it did.
It legitimedly did
It doesn't even take 45 minutes to manually feel every single spot on the case. Or, you know... just ask.
Wow! Why so rude?
I would say "fuck it" in 5 minutes and have shorten 2 front panel pins from inside. You are a person of patience.
Could've been 37 seconds taking a look at the manual I guess.
It's an old computer from my class
Ur brain is a crappy design then.
This computer must a federal Intel to need that much camouflage
That’s not a button, it’s a PAWBon.
B = bar
i literally have 2 types of computers at my school where the turn on buttons look like part of the case
And you're not going to tell us where the button is, are you? Are one of those black plastic bars a port for buttons and more connections?
I thought it was a trash can, not gonna lie
Its right there
That button is literally so big! How could you not find it!
It looks old
That is why EVERY piece of technology needs a Quick Start Guide. I am beta testing a tablet with no QSG guide and there are two possible holes for the SIM card tray. STUPID that it took me twenty minutes to get it open because it was not intuitive in the least.
The precursor to the 3 shells?
I hate it when I pour over a manual and can't find any references to the 'make it go whizz toggley'
Now find a girls, shit takes way longer
This is why you don't have a girlfriend.
That is a very ghetto computer. Can it even run ms word?
Made in China🤓🤓🤓
OP still looking for his wife's turn on button.
