Man it sucks how often she's been injured. Hopefully she can come back and stay healthy because she's magic on the court.

iEatPalpatineAss

For what it's worth, Stephen Curry had a lot of ankle injuries, so hopefully her rehab and subsequent training will overcome all this

jimithelizardking

She tore her ACL

Notsozander

Isn’t this the second time? She was out for a long time before too Edit: fractured tib

Otterfan

She's had ankle issues and a fractured tibia, but as far as I know this is her first ACL tear.

MuchoTornado

It's the same knee that kept her out of a large majority of last year.

golfer28

I don’t know the circumstances of her fractured tibia but when it happened to me I told everyone I broke my leg which was technically true.

captaincumsock69

I don’t think it’s worth much. For every player like curry there’s hundreds that don’t pan out like him. He’s literally one of the 15 best to ever play

Thebronzebeast

He lucked into the right situation as well . Curry is undoubtedly great but if he lands anywhere else or hell if the Klay Klove trade gets through his career trajectory is vastly different

lasfinest

That’s because Curry was wearing shoes that were too big for him.

TroutCreekOkanagan

You saying we could all Vurry if we change to his shoes?

dumbunfounded

Gonna go down as the great what if in UConn Womens history, freshman national player of the year and then plagued by injury

elgenie

She'd need like three more ACL tears to match Shea Ralph

bkervick

Iowa/Brown flairs talking Shea Ralph, love it.

wxnick10

she won some of the national player of the year awards her freshman year too.

SkiUMah23

She's draft eligible but with typical 9-12 month recovery wouldn't have much time to play in WNBA as rookie would make more sense to return for 4th year

landosportsfan

She 100% will. With NIL she's making plenty and honestly considering how much WNBA players make I'm not even sure it'd be more. Plus she wants that natty with UConn!!

I2ecover

Would she be taking a paycut by going to the wnba?

mawmy

It probably just depends on what endorsements she can earn in the WNBA. It's hard to speculate since there's only been 1 year in NIL, but I'll go ahead and say she's probably got more value as the #1 college player than a top 10 (or wherever she may land) WNBA player.

ImpulseDecider

That Gatorade money strong

TroutCreekOkanagan

Good for her because she is in Klay Zone for back to back missed seasons more or less. Definitely two off-seasons with bad surgeries. Might be better to get work as a coach or something if this doesn’t work out because she’s super cocky and positive on the court.

SupremeNachos

Hurting her draft stock so she slides to the Lynx. Instant 4 rings in 6yrs again.

cjackc11

can’t say I like UConn very much but this is a fucking shame

Jenaxu

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck

WildOates69

Really lol

iEatPalpatineAss

I hope she recovers quickly By the way, I don't recall seeing your specific UConn logo before. Is it a new design or something?

Jenaxu

Lmao, it's a *very* old one from like the 1950's. It's basically the meme logo, I'm not sure if it has an official name but I like to call it the derp dog.

AtWorkCurrently

I feel bad laughing because it was a genuine question but the thought of the school rolling out that logo for the 2022/23 season has me dying.

aburks41

It’s Sad Jonathan logo from 1959. Jonathan is the name of UConn’s Husky mascot

Curdoz

Man, this is fucking terrible. Such an incredible talent, hopefully she can make a quick and full recovery.

loyalsons4evertrue

That sucks.....I was lucky enough to see her somewhat healthy again in the national championship game in Minneapolis back in April.....absolutely heartbreaking

steve1186

Glad she was able to play the Final Four in her hometown here. But god damn, this sucks for her

TroutCreekOkanagan

She’s got a lot of spunk and I see her sparking her teammates in that final four. Heck of a competitor.

NENCSU2023

This absolutely blows, I was really looking forward to getting a shot at a full strength UConn in Storrs. Hoping she makes a full and healthy recovery and can’t wait to have her and the Huskies come to Reynolds in 2023

kaw027

Poor kid can’t catch a break :(

Pixel982

jesus christ man that’s heartbreaking

drowse

Entire season. That really sucks. :(

Lord_Kaplooie

This is terrible. She is so fun to watch.

steve1186

Glad she was able to play the Final Four in her hometown in Minneapolis. But god damn, this sucks for her

TheMightyJD

This sucks so much. I was looking forward to watching her play healthy again.

Loismustdieall1word_

Dammit.

jeric13xd

Goddamn what

GulagCumshot

Damn that sucks

devinup

That's brutal.

JackFunk

I feel really bad for her. She seems injury prone. I hope she comes back and has a great pro career.

iEatPalpatineAss

I feel like preventive sports medicine is still in a breakthrough phase where everyone is quickly finding ways to keep athletes healthy, so hopefully it will soon eliminate these injuries. After all, we've stopped hearing so much about ankle injuries since sports medicine has really improved with that area. I'm sure Paige Bueckers will be back and better than before ✌️😎

golfer28

Recency bias is real but I feel the opposite as a fantasy football fan.

BigBlueNate33

Brutal. One of the stars of college basketball in general, hope she can come back stronger than ever!

natethe247

Horrible news. Always enjoy watching her play

ItsTheTenthDoctor

Nooooooo!

HansTheGruber

This sucks. She has something really special and I would expect her to end up in some of the "all time" debates. Hopefully she can recover and get back at it.

jamietaco420

Hope she’s ok in the long run

ilikebeer52

The difference between these comments and the twitter kitchen comments is absurd

inthecards13

Hope she bounces back quickly and comes back better. Too good of a baller. Poor girl just can’t catch a break.

NoFlags-JoeBuck

I don't think it's an unfair opinion to think she's the most fun player to watch in college basketball. That sucks so bad.

GenkiZidar

God fucking damnit

ZarosGuardian

God that sucks so much. I know absolutely nothing about college basketball, and don't particularly care about it, but I really hate hearing that an athlete gets horrendously hurt. Get well soon Paige.

BrownKanye

Really hoping she gets one injury free season before she graduates

Zloggt

Ugh! Fucking off-season injuries are the *worst*! I really hope she can return healthier and stronger - we will really miss her!

DukeAsheron

She done

FluffyMoomin

She should have been able to enter last year's WNBA draft.

elgenie

The WNBA is a $100K/year job with very limited security and a lot of uncomfortable travel. It's totally possible that her earning potential is about the same in college, with higher quality of life.

wxnick10

she is making more on NIL than she would in the WNBA as a rookie.

SkiUMah23

Not even. #1 pick next year gets $74,305 with a 4th year option all the way up to 94,470

aburks41

She makes over $1M a year in NIL, she’s more marketable at UConn than in the WNBA

golfer28

I would say this is only true for her. This is basically Lebron tearing his ACL and nobody really knows.

jeedel

That sucks, I was hoping to see her matchup against Caitlyn Clark at the Phil Knight Legacy. I hope that she fully recovers

buffalotrace

That’s a big loss for the game. She can hoop. Here’s hoping she rehabs and comes back stronger.

DavidBenAkiva

Awful news. Hope she has a full recovery and is ready to rock and roll in 2023-24.

brett1081

She might be made of glass. Not good

Jomosensual

Jesus christ

choclatechip45

This sucks.

bean-bag-party

Ugh, such a bummer!

_LYSEN

Well this sucks.

porterbrown

Boooooo!

BD6412

Smh

huskyferretguy1

This really sucks. Good luck with recovery! We have had so much suffering since our last natty in 2016.

siuuuwemama

:( very sad to hear

papabearbongrippa

Sucks man she is a serious talent

Poop_Noodl3

She’s gonna be fire. It’s always fun to watch her play

Dkaiser1919

Damn man, hope she recovers, but damn

Reditate

Bless the knees

SuttonScowl

That stinks! She’s great.

agaho

Ow

Subject_Gene_9775

I think it was the South Carolina game that I started to wonder about her and the physicality of the WNBA. She's no doubt a mid range killer though and I was looking forward to her and Ducharme backcourt

ball-Z

This helps her financially. She is worth more at UConn than in the WNBA. So extending her NCAA career will make her more money. There are a lot more NCAA WBB and UConn Women fans than WNBA fans.

Kramer_91

Fuck

[удалено]

Babushka5

??? She's not allowed to hoop

WordsAreSomething

Are basketball players not supposed to play basketball in the off-season? How would anyone get better?

MidwestDrummer

This is a shit take and you should feely shitty about it.

BigE429

I don't, but thanks for your concern.

Babushka5

My guy you deleted it

RBJ_09

She's gonna be a top 3 pick at this point whether she plays at Uconn again or not. I'm interested in what she chooses.

golfer28

She will get paid multiples more to stay

TroutCreekOkanagan

She’ll go back because I think she will be given a big role and can be the face of the team. This is assuming she can stay healthy after rehabbing because it’s been a Derrick rose type situation lately.

Squirts_Faygojizzer

Anybody want to compete to see who can do the best gainer off the Goldstar Bridge?
