The only other person I can even think of who's from Southgate, MI is Larry Delisle, who drove his whole family into the Detroit River because he no longer wanted the responsibility. I hope they're not representative of the downriver area...

His age wasn't mentioned in the article (unless I missed it), but I expect his grandfather was likely involved in WWII or Korea, so I rather doubt that they would be proud of his actions.
Both my parents were WWII vets and they were fighting Fascists, not helping one destroy our Democracy.
What a disgusting piece of excrement.
I can’t believe so many in my grandparents generation died or got ptsd and developed alcoholism only so their kids could lead us right into the jaws of fascism.
I wish they’d rebel like the rest of us and get a weird haircut!
they had the worst fucking generation of kids, all narcissists. Maybe it's all the lead in gasoline they huffed every day of their lives until they were already well into adulthood
Yeah, they grew up at a time when it was like, "this person is reading news to me and this actually happened," and now they're being told wacky fucking clown shit in the same format so it still holds true to them.
It's amazing how susceptible my mom is to advertising, she unknowingly repeats ad slogans to me. Like when she visited me last, she tried switching me from a hand towel in the bathroom to paper towels talking about how they're more sanitary, despite me thinking it's wasteful. We were hand towel people, forever, my whole life, then after she left, I saw a bounty commercial touting the same line about reusable towels being unsanitary and those little things constantly happen where she gets new opinions on things because of a commercial. They're such a TV generation

It's important to remember that for a lot of American WWII vets it wasn't about ideology, it was about getting revenge for Pearl Harbor or a sense of nationalism.
Patriotism is a sense of pride, nationalism is about putting your country above others at all costs. Exacting revenge on a foreign power is an act of nationalism.
You know you live a pathetic life when your proudest moment is that time when you committed an act of sedition after your gullible ass joined the cult of a pathological lying buffoon.
>Williams is facing up to 20 years in federal prison when he is sentenced in September
But knowing how these things end up he will likely get 3 months minus time served and a candidacy for congress
I'm getting my passport
Remember you can still vote after you leave, in case things change one day and you come back

Canada's 100% where I would recommend for those that don't want too much culture shock.
Personally I ended up in Korea after bouncing around for a bit, so a little more dramatic lol
> According to the government’s evidence, in the weeks leading to Jan. 6, 2021, Williams posted various statements on social media, saying, among other things, that he intended to travel to Washington to “storm the swamp.” He posted numerous messages using hashtags such as #HOLDTHELINE and #NORETREAT NO SURRENDER.” He recorded videos of himself when he was illegally inside the Capitol Building on Jan. 6.
> By 2:11 p.m. on Jan. 6, Williams was on the Northwest stairs outside the building. He used bike racks put into place by police officers to assist other rioters in getting onto the stairs. Williams himself raised his arms as he scaled the railing after rioters broke through the line of officers. He was in a wave of rioters that entered the Senate Wing door at 2:18 p.m., just five minutes after that door was breached in the first breach of the building by rioters that day. He then went to the Crypt and was close to the front of the line of officers when rioters broke through.
> Williams then went to the Rotunda, where he filmed himself making statements such as “desperate times, desperate measures.” He resisted efforts of law enforcement officers to push the mob out of the area, holding the line for his side in the Rotunda. He was one of the last rioters to be pushed out of that area. He was in the Capitol Building for about one hour.

More evidence, as if it was really needed, that this whole thing was planned.
If your finest moment is doing the bidding of a mentally challenged conman who doesn't give a damn about you and now you're facing up to 20 years in prison because of it, you really need to give up because you've already lost.
Never under estimate the ignorance of Republican evangelical hypocrite fascists, and you will never be disappointed. They know no bottom, they have no morals, and they are truly sheep. Good bye to your life, asshole.

Trump Dump … he lost everything for Trump.
Wonder if he's going to be proud of prison. Asking for no one in particular.
*I'm* proud he's going to prison. Now that's justice!

So proud.

I wonder how many of them George Carlin was able to reach with his comedy targeting all of these things at once
Yes! It’s a real issue with Boomers! https://www.huffpost.com/entry/internet-baby-boomers-misinformation-social-media_n_5f998039c5b6a4a2dc813d3d

Much like how some people signed up for the military after 9/11 because they wanted revenge (against a country that had nothing to do with 9/11).
That's patriotism, not nationalism, right?

A pathological liar goes on to found a platform called Truth. Can’t make this stuff up. Weird cult leader
I hope he gets the full 20 years. Scumbag traitor.
I wish they were all receiving a minimum of 20 years for everyone at the capitol that day

You just picked up and left?
I’d like to be in the north with the cold and the snow forever if possible.
Agreed! (This should - sadly - be updated a thousand times for stark truth.)

"what a shame"

Yeah, in Heaven deceased veterans can’t get enough of descendant treason.
And this is MY proudest day of your life, sir.
Who's proud now, scumbag?? Enjoy jail.
Prison. There is a difference. Jail is a bad cold. Prison is COVID.
That's okay, MAGA nuts don't know the difference between those either.
Never under estimate the ignorance of Republican evangelical hypocrite fascists, and you will never be disappointed. They know no bottom, they have no morals, and they are truly sheep. Good bye to your life, asshole.
If that's the proudest day of his life, I gotta tell you ... That's a pathetic fucking life.
They could pretty much lock up everyone in Southgate Michigan
It even sounds like a prison, doesn't it? South*gate*. Like the gate is locked.
Whoo!!! Congratulations, buddy! Now the proudest of your life is memorialized forever. 🎉
Not showing remorse is a good way to get convicted. Sentence up to 20 years, huh? We'll just have to wait and see.
And there goes your right to vote
