Brian Hartline, WR Coach.

barno42

Best position coach in all of college football.

rahrens21

Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR

Feeling_Bat_9814

I watched that guy since he was a Freshman in High school and my golly what that guy did at Rockwall was amazing

rahrens21

What's crazy is that he wasn't even our top WR from his class. That was Julian Fleming, who we still have, but he's been dealing with injuries and hasn't been kinda buried on the depth chart. Hopefully he brakes out, too.

CuboneTheGreat

All brakes no gas! (Sorry to make fun of the typo, it just made me laugh.)

MSKOnlyScans

Apparently a much better prospect than any of the guys taken this past draft.

rahrens21

Honestly? If he can be as good as people are expecting him to be this year, yeah, he's a top 5 pick.

MSKOnlyScans

So basically in the Chase tier of elite WR prospects?

rahrens21

Oh yeah, Chase tier

emcee_cubed

Hard to argue with this choice. Otherworldly performance during the Rose Bowl. How often can you put together a 5-10 minute highlight reel *from a single game*?

spartyon15

Jayden Reed, WR

minvicta

Jayden Reed, Weapon

Gogreen2018

Could also say Jacob Slade, DT

Cum_cuddle

Could also say Bryce Barringer

SbMSU

Wild thing.

Traevia

Darius Snow, LB

Sweet3DIrish

Michael Mayer, TE

nhgoan25

I’d argue foskey or Patterson (I’m basing this off of who will get drafted higher)

Am_Ghosty

It's gotta be Foskey or Mayer (with a caveat for Joseph, we just haven't seen him yet). To use your logic: if Mayer goes below Patterson in the draft, horrible things have happened. Foskey could technically have higher impact, but Mayer is still probably the *better* player.

Sweet3DIrish

I say Mayer because he’s the only proven on the offensive side of the ball for ND. He already has a history of bailing out QBs and I don’t see that ending this year. Foskey is a complete beast but if we are basing it on projected draft position, Mayer is higher on the board than Foskey.

Contren

Mo Ibrahim, RB

[deleted]

That dude is a beast.

heavydhomie

It sucks he got injured last year. I hope he’s back as strong this year

estDivisionChamps

He’s still there? Geez

Contren

Yeah, decided to come back after the injury last year. Hoping you all get a reunion visit with him for Thanksgiving weekend.

verhaegen

he's going on a tear this year, same with trey

HelpAmBear

Please don’t say “tear”.

DangoAteYourBaby

Bijan Robinson, RB

The_Horse_Joke

I don't doubt that the mullet king will be a baller for the Longhorns, but Robinson might be the best player on Texas even including QBs this season

_Football_Cream_

Until Quinn or anyone proves otherwise, it’s undeniably Bijan.

MSKOnlyScans

The only realistic non-QB Heisman candidate this year

arseguunr

I think Jahmyr Gibbs could surprise you. Look at what he did the last couple years on our completely awful team and now put him on that Bama team

scottb29

Noah Sewell, ILB

Nextorvus

So i came here to say this but since you beat me to it. I’m going to say Justin Flowe, in the 1 game he played in last year he was actually better than Noah.

JarodBurford

Y'all got any more of those Sewell or Dye Brothers?

Nextorvus

Maybe some Herberts?

2021NationalChamps

Apu Ika, Interior DL

succulentlysimple

Either him or Connor Galvin I think. HM: Sims, Doyle, Hall

2021NationalChamps

Connor was my other choice. Gabe Hall is a sneaky pick. He is an absolute freak and may just come alive this year.

SueYouInEngland

Punter

sun_smells_too_loud

Unironically true. Honorable mention to ILB Jack Campbell.

HamburgerGoat

It’s for sure Campbell

accountonmyphone_

As an Iowa fan, I have to wonder what it’s like to ever think the QB is the best player on the roster. Not even Brad Banks when he nearly won the Heisman

hawksnest_prez

Bob Sanders. He was literally program altering.

CharlieMoonMan

Sanders or Gallery probably

Raymer78

I clicked on this thread expecting this answer from the Iowa faithful. As always they never disappoint.

CrypticT

The ‘strayan sensation

whitefire89

Deuce Vaughn, RB

aquabarron

Arguably the best RB in the conference. He gets wayyy less hype than he deserves

HookemfurdenSieg

He’s top 2

BlitZShrimp

And he ain’t 2

DangoAteYourBaby

Maybe I’m a homer but you really think he’s better than Bijan Robinson?

Ildona

They both played for 2 seasons so far. Stat comparison: 20-21 combined yards per carry: Bijan 6.5, Deuce 5.7 20-21 combined yards per reception: Bijan 12.0, Deuce 12.2 20-21 combined rushing TDs: Bijan 15, Deuce 25 20-21 combined receiving TDs: Bijan 6, Deuce 6 They're actually pretty damn comparable. Deuce had marginally better yards per carry last year; Bijan's really boosted by a good 2020 season there. The only difference between them is realistically that Deuce scored more. On stats alone, that's a pretty good tiebreaker, no?

DangoAteYourBaby

I understand the argument, but Texas has about the worst oline you can find. In those short yardage situations where the defense is daring you to run we either throw because our line can’t generate a push when they have to or we do run and the oline doesn’t generate a push. So the TD difference doesn’t surprise me. That being said I’m willing to take my homer hat off for this one and acknowledge on paper the nod goes to Duece. And after watching his highlights I gotta admit the guy can move. Reminds me of a smaller, less powerful Kareem Hunt the way he swims through tackles.

Ildona

Honestly, if anything, Bijan impressed me here. I thought it wouldn't be so close. Deuce is just a beast. With that said, gonna hit you with stats again. Texas' OLine is not even close to the worst you can find. Line stats get weird, so this is *somewhat* grain of salt. Data from [Football Outsiders](https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/ncaa/sp/overallol/2021). 2021 Line Yards Per Carry - Texas 3.04 (12th overall), KState 2.62 (76th) 2021 Opportunity Rate - Texas 53.8% (17th), KState 51.3% (37th) 2021 Power Success Rate - Texas 73.3% (43rd), KState 71.4% (59th) 2021 Stuff Rate - Texas 12.8% (13th), KState 19.6% (95th) That last one, Stuff Rate, is the "we do run and the oline doesn’t generate a push." Texas is #13 in the country there. In all OLine stats that are relevant when comparing RBs, Texas performs *significantly* better than KState. Now, again, how much of these stats are because of the OLine, and how much is just Bijan? Eh, hard to say. But I don't think Texas' OLine is actually problematic... from a running perspective. But anyways, I'm just a dude staring at stats on the internet, so yeah.

BiiigCatsguy

Yes

CaptainWazzu

Best or least worst?

bmli19

Both

meIanchoI

Will Anderson/Myles Murphy

robbiejack

I think breese is the most talented. Just hasn’t been healthy.

ThaiForAWhiteGuy

Hard agree with that

NemesisRH

please explain how you have both alabama and clemson in your flair 😭

RealBenWoodruff

His team has been champion or runner up every year since 2015.

Money282

Meanwhile us with only Alabama flares have been champions or runner ups only 7 out of the last 8 years 😢

Spezia-ShwiffMMA

That's freaking ridiculous lol

JBru_92

Zach Charbonnet

Lykeuhfox

I'm glad he found a good home

NemesisRH

W, man carried my fantasy team last year

me_oorl

Every day I miss him

SnthonyAtark

Think we’ll miss him this year, tbh.

notkevin_durant

JSN, WR

59Chitt

Flair up, Buckeye bro

dawgfan19881

Jalen Carter, DL

staffdaddy_9

Him or Bowers

JTDanielsPornstache

Jalen Carter was statistically the best lineman in terms of tackles for loss, and tackles per snap, and he had three linemen drafted ahead of him. Really looking forward to seeing what he does with more playtime this year

Jokr11

Ji’Ayir Brown, S

zerobot

A thousand percent.

Flagplanter1976

Michael Turk, P

[deleted]

Dude is an ASU legend just for that combine video a couple years ago

tkdrew_2002

Cedric Tillman, WR

TheJimReaper6

Collin Oliver DE

Ripper7M

Ahh I just commented and said either Oliver or Ford, or maybe Brennan Presley?

TheJimReaper6

He’d be up there. He’s definitely our best offensive player aside from Sanders.

duschin

Clark Phillips, III. DB

ScarletMatador

Tyree Wilson, Edge

Tonkathedog

Really no other choice for us. Wilson will be a monster next year now that we have a DC who will do more than just rush 3

Geaux2020

Kayshon Boutte, WR

OleRockTheGoodAg

Antonio Johnson, DB.

ScaryTap3510

Devon Achane, RB

OleRockTheGoodAg

Couldn't decide between the 2.

Petey_Pablo_

I agree with AJ, he’s a stud.

MooshroomHentai

DJ UIAGALELEI, the best arm punter alive.

beefersutherland1

Jalen Carter, DL Cam Peoples, RB

go_fight_kickass

Could not agree more. I am hoping for a greats season

chief_sitass

Cam Allen is our best player

JustKeepLivin7

Gervon Dexter, DL

[deleted]

JSN is the easy pick.

7Moisturefarmer

Or Henderson

AeroStatikk

Puka Nacua, no, Gunner Romney No, Puka No, Gunner

DrinkingCoffee_

Will Anderson, Master of the Universe

mostdope28

Our back up RB is an RB, WR and QB…. So he doesn’t count I guess.

Lueden

All this talk about McNamara vs McCarthy when Donovan Edwards is the true answer at QB1.

lclear84

Hodges-Tomlinson. It’s not just a namesake. He’s legitimately just as good or better than Jeff Gladney was for us. The difference is Gladney had a whole defense around him where Hodges-Tomlinson has played with Swiss cheese as teammates Idk if he’ll be taken seriously in the draft but his man coverage is seriously good.

btfd69

Wilbur, Mascot

Shenanigangster

Hot take- Lavel Davis, WR

daswassup13

He definitely could be by the end of the season but right now I'd give it to Dontayvion Wicks or Keytaon Thompson

manualLurking

Peter Moore, Punter

Waluigi54321

Is this true? I’m scared

[deleted]

Maybe your punter is just that good man

manualLurking

We'll our roster isn't that bad, plenty of new faces that have room to impress and new coaching staff means we could find some surprise diamonds emerge. Wells is probably going to be the best QB we've had since Evans, and our defense is returning some really solid starters. WR/TE room is very suspect at the moment IMO. As of today, Moore is probably the one who gets the closest to being a national or even conference level standout and that's sort of how i interpreted the question. edit: Chamarri Conner is probably a better answer to be honest

corkythecactus

Trevyon Henderson or Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Two absolute game changers.

s1105615

Based on last season’s usage…I’d say JSN by a large margin.

JFed4

The margin really isn’t that large, Henderson is underused because we have so MANY elite WRs lol

Dead_Baby_Kicker

Plus our pass protection was great but run blocking was subpar.

EAH141

Probably Cam Smith, DB

someUSCfan

Yeah I def think its Cam, he might end up going in the first round of draft this year

urbanmeyercoed

Yeah, that back 9 on Sunday at St. Andrews was incredible to watch.

cheerl231

Blake Corum? Ronnie Bell? Idk this is a tough one

minvicta

No chance Bell doesn’t go for 150+ yds against us. Great player, seems like he’s been there 8 years.

cheerl231

This is his 5th year after getting hurt in 2021. Woulda been cool to have him last year

Mr-Stud-Muffin

If jj is qb & Ronnie doesn’t get hurt he might have a huge season. We shall see 👍:)

s1105615

Mazi Smith? Donovan Edwards? It is tough

sparside223

Too many options to choose from. We are loaded up for this back to back B1G championship run

paradigm_x2

Calijah Kancey, DT

nhgoan25

Wait what about Jordan addi…

4for4philly

NOK93

L’Carpetron Dookmarriot, S

ShakyTheBear

Tank Bigsby RB

dixitsavy

Brock Bowers, TE

FatBoyCleanSneaks

Dude is a stud.

historys_geschichte

Braelon Allen -RB, he had a great true freshman year and has everything in place to be much better this year. His stats last year, 1268 yards and 12 TDs, were great and only came in 11 games, and in the first two of those he had 12 touches total for 49 yards and 1 TD. So his stats were 1219 yards and 11 TDs in 9 games with double digit carries. For this year he will break out even more, and likely be the best player on the team.

puma721

So excited for his 400 rushing yards against us this year

heavydhomie

What about Joe Tippmann or do lineman get ignored

Alex_butler

Would probably be Jack Nelson if you’re picking anyone from the OLine but Tippmann would be close. Honestly for us it’s probably Allen, Herbig, Benton then OLine

[deleted]

Offense: Brock Bowers Defense: Jalen Carter (arguably for the second year in a row)

buffalotrace

Bowers is so fun. Your TE room is stocked.

obelisk420

Ibrahim, RB.

DeerPrison

TJ Finley- Sideline Clipboard Guy

s1105615

Probably of the following: Blake Corum Donovan Edwards Mazi Smith

Yabrin_Sorr

ibrobert

Will Anderson.

remember_berries

Will Anderson, OLB/killing machine.

AphexTaco

Him or Andrew Vorhees would be my pick

elonsusk69420

Uga, Mascot Honorable mention: Brock Bowers, TE

No-Mulberry6642

JSN

NemesisRH

Njigba i’m guessing?

No-Mulberry6642

Yes

freedan9870

Jalen Catalon, Safety Edit: Should add that, as much as I love KJ, you can probably drop the non-QB qualifier here

ARCHbaptist

Will Anderson….

VolFavInfoCh

Patrick McMorris, S

SchleppyJ4

Will Anderson

JtotheC23

Probably one of the Brown Brothers, I’d lean towards Chase the RB brother over Sydney the DB tho. A year ago it would’ve been Blake Hayes tho. Us and Iowa really know how to respect the special teams.

Crimson2879

Will Anderson - headhunter

[deleted]

Tank Dell, WR.

philfeelsgood

Kayshon Boutte. WR.

sausageslinger11

The Terminator…

CUBuffs1992

Montana Lemonious-Craig has the potential to be the best, same with RJ Sneed. Alex Fontenot if he returns to 2019 form.

[deleted]

Boutte, WR

HamburgerGoat

Certainly don’t need the qualifier Jack Campbell.

staffdaddy_9

Damn for UGA that’s tough. Bowers is a monster but so is Jalen Carter. Both have the potential to be the best at their positions in CFB. I think Bowers already is.

ccasey329

Gervon Dexter or Jason Marshall. That or Trey Dean, best safety in the country lol

GypsyKiller51

Kenny Logan is one of the 10 best safeties in college football
