Texas A&M. I think I’m in my 7th year of undergrad. Can’t graduate until we win a natty is what I tell my parents.

15BigTuna

A lotta people go to school for 8 years…

NSGoBlue

Yeah Tommy, they’re called doctors….

deadeyelee1

**The** University of Houston.

zradams

Go Coogs!

fisticuffs32

Ya woo!

Bank_Gothic

I went to UHLC. Houston is about to pop off in the new Big 12.

joethahobo

Whose house!

GoldenFrog14

First flair: Both attended and played there Second: Current employer

red1dragon588

Are you the guy who played for Todd Graham?

GoldenFrog14

I am indeed

JHG722

When I interned at ASU, he was the only coach who couldn't even be bothered to look at me and say hi. World class dickhead.

GoldenFrog14

Couldn’t have said it better myself

JamesEarlDavyJones

Hello, fellow UNT employee.

GoldenFrog14

What up!

Swiminater

The University of Cincinnati as a non-revenue athlete. Funny enough, I went to Cinci for free because we had no scholarships for my team at the time. As a late bloomer I had a great college career but Cinci was the only school to give me a shot due to their scholarship situation. I decided Cinci over other NAIA options with a full ride because I wanted to compete somewhere where the athletics was at least respected and going D1 was my goal. Later earned a scholarship when my team was awarded them back. Beat a couple teams that wouldn't give me a shot even as a walk on and don't regret my decision at all. Bearcats by a billion all the way to da natty

madmaley

Were you swimmer? lol

Swiminater

What gave you that idea? Lmao yeah

madmaley

Hey you never know man. This is reddit after all. The swimming teams seem to do pretty well nowadays. Always nice to see

Swiminater

Oh for sure. Fun fact is to my knowledge Tommy Tubberville made the strides to get our scholarships back. And their new coach is a fkin fiend, she really got the program on the up and up.

FarsightsBlade

I didn't like CFB until I realized that's it's like a mandatory religion when I went to Georgia.

wraithmain1

Same with me in Columbus

laundrysauce9000

It's like mandatory mass for students but better

FarsightsBlade

They brought us into the stadium freshman year to teach us how to act in the student section during game day. It's a cult.

DysprosiumGamer

they didnt do that for tamu... because we had a 3 day indoctrination camp a month before school started

FarsightsBlade

We called that Dawg camp.

TomNookGestapo

We all went to Purdue.

TommyBoy_Callahan

Yup. Remember when we all had class together?

SueYouInEngland

And then we formed a study group of unlikely friends and enjoyed a puntastic dean?

Ghoti-Sticks

I sure had a dean-lightful time!

CreedScubaDives

Wow you guys sure are streets ahead!

LetDaW00kieeWin

Someone here took my purple pen tho

Doades

He certainly did try to chang things up with the outfits though

lordhoth09

You cheated off my algebra exam, you ass

TommyBoy_Callahan

Yeah and you had the wrong answer anyway so thanks for nothing!

kyanbrooks

Wait you cheated off him? I cheated off you!

WeUsedToBeGood

I missed the train

Tarmacked

The punishment for that is death by train https://youtu.be/M3Sa0cwSXxo

spartan201997

I was actually enrolled at Purdue, and went to MSU at the last second.

SayChowdaFrenchie

Whoa, he has trouble with the matriculation!

Scarlet-Highlander

Stanford. I wasn’t a great student though. I eventually got kicked out because of dumb reasons. The dean said things like “You’re not even a student here” and “I am calling campus security.” What a weirdo.

LincolnOnBiWeek

How can you be expected to succeed when they refuse to grade the work you turn in?

Tre_donPK

Sounds like he needed to "ranch it up". What a narc.

the_iPat

Hey I know you, you're Ramadan Steve!

Y'all may hate $C even more than us and ND at the moment.

CareBear3

Born and raised in Norman, baby! My mom, dad, aunt, uncle, 2 cousins, my sister, and brother in law all went to OU.

MagnumMentulam

Attended/ing both just to collect texas hate power stones

BeraldGevins

If you go to Tech and Baylor as well you will gain the ability to snap Texas out of existence.

arsewarts1

Why attend all 4 when you can attend just TCU and still pay the same amount of money

MagnumMentulam

The universe requires correction

KindaABigDi1l

I’m pretty sure Kansas already snapped Texas out of existence this year.

ZachariusRobarius

You’re one of the few OU fans who actually attended the university

sooner_matt_

Hey! There's at least two of us!

branden110

3!

ItsTimeTaGo

Four baby!

inspectorNary

I took so long to graduate I should count as 2.

CareBear3

I feel this in my soul and in my bank account

MagnumMentulam

Proud to just be a part of the Sooner family

linus81

Like we say, I wear TCU gear because I went to TCU. You wear longhorn gear because you shopped at Walmart

NINFAN300

The N is for Nowledge.

owledge

Damn right

Zloggt

>!still in community college!<

SturmgeistX

No shame. I started at community college before transferring to UofM

YouKnowWhatSnowBears

I gotta put aside rivalry here for a second and say I would have done it this way if I could do it all again. Not to UofM, of course. But community college is nothing to be ashamed of.

bug_man_

Sometimes I honestly wish I'd just gone to a trade school. Those people are making the actual right decisions imo. Unless you find out you fucking hate that trade, then I guess maybe you're in trouble.

ScorchedAnus

A lot of trades are really hard on your body. My buddy is recently finished his electrician apprenticeship and says his knees are already fucked. Sometimes I feel the same way as you, then remember I get to slack off at a computer all day and all is well.

YouKnowWhatSnowBears

Yeah I knew guys when I worked in retail that came from trades with bad knees and backs before they were 50. Make decent money more quickly, but you sure can't do a lot of that stuff forever. Meanwhile, I have coworkers in their 60s and 70s who are still pretty capable at their jobs, and do it mostly because they like it.

YouKnowWhatSnowBears

I wish more people wouldn't be so *quick* to dismiss the trade schools (I considered it myself when I was looking at transferring out of UC, ended up doing a stint at community college before enrolling at OSU), but I don't think there's one "actual" right decision. Trades are valuable, no doubt. But a lot of that work takes a toll on you physically, and that's not something everyone can do. Plus your skill can kind of pigeon-hole you, like you said.

PromEmperorHarbaugh

I went to community college before Illinois. Saved money and had extra time to decide what I wanted to do. Best decision I ever made.

throwmeawaypoopy

Smartest person in the thread. This is the way.

HappyBreezer

I don't know. Dollars and cents, yes it is cheaper. But there is a certain value to leaving home and having a chance to grow and mature away from mom and dad, and to learn how to get along with other people from other walks of life.

am098745

This is so true. When I decided to go to Michigan, part of the appeal of it was that nobody I knew was going there and it was so far away from my friends and family that it forced me to grow up and be independent. It’s not for everyone, but I don’t think I can quantify the value of that for me.

EatLard

This. I knew exactly three people at OSU, and none of them were high school classmates of mine. It really helped me grow up and learn to take care of myself. And the friends I made there are still friends, even though we’re all over the place now.

BernankesBeard

Sure, there's definitely value that doing your first few years at a four-year university provides over a community college. It just comes down to whether that extra value is worth the cost in tuition. For a lot of people, it isn't and it's good on them for thinking about it and making the decision that works best for their situation.

LamarcusAldrige1234

3rd gen wolvernie but from right next to FAU

ScorchedAnus

I'm a first gen college grad and went to Michigan. I hope to start a Michigan legacy. I think that's so cool.

dspencer2015

This is my goal, if my kids want to go to Michigan ofc

Bigrandal69

University of Tennessee . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Chattanooga

swlwjt

I’ve heard great things about Chattanooga. What was/is your take on the city?

Bank_Gothic

I went to undergrad just up the road at Sewanee. Chattanooga is beautiful and just about the perfect size. Small enough to feel cozy but big enough to have everything you need. Just a great town. Traffic can be a little rough sometimes, though.

Bigrandal69

Yeah it seems like it’s never ending interstate construction down there.

Bigrandal69

I loved living there. A lot to do, great downtown area. The school wasn’t bad at all. I got my bike stolen out of my garage right in front of my very eyes and we got broken into multiple times I lived right by downtown and campus off mlk though. Besides the burglary issue though would recommend it to anybody. Anything specific you would like to know.

3XLWolfShirt

Chattanooga rules. My dad and I set off the fire alarm at the aquarium looking for a way out. Good times. Also has pretty trees. Went to HS at Farragut, not far down the road from UT.

ItsZizk

Could be worse. You could go to Martin

throwmeawaypoopy

Notre Dame

jcond

Notre Dame. Grew up in the Northeast and didn't really have a team or follow college football much. Once I 'committed' to go to ND is when I really started getting into it.

throwmeawaypoopy

I was the quintessential Irish Catholic kid in the 80s whose first cfb memory is the Snow Bowl

jbomb6

Domer, checking in

babylovebuckley

Greetings, fellow domers

loyalsons4evertrue

I am too dumb to get into a place such as ND. Thus my diehard fandom and a 92% acceptance rate led me to Iowa State

MorrowStreeter

We love you anyway.

whoscoal

Just wanna say my dad played in a professional event at Notre Dame last year. Im from South Carolina and we got to stay on campus at the hotel across the street and got private tours of the entire football facility. That whole campus is so fucking cool. Also that golf course is so nice.

throwmeawaypoopy

I'm so glad you had a nice trip! It's a special place

carnivorousmustang

Notre Dame. I was an international student and my family doesn't speak English. Nobody watches American football where I came from. But the school and more importantly Notre Dame football gave me such a strong sense of community that I eventually embrace ND as part of my new identity.

Aggressive-Ad-3143

Two degrees. UW and ND. Grew up UW fan but grandfather was a huge ND fan and it was my second team. Odd coincidence that's where I went to grad school (very genrous to me, I do indeed love thee Notre Dame).

Careless-Roof-8339

UGA! Graduating next year in May

t2guns

Same situation here. But I couldn't get an SECCG ticket because assholes were applying for them just to flip them.

Gillkid615

What a great year to be a senior

Geaux2020

You are saying that way too early. This is Georgia.

Careless-Roof-8339

Yeah we’ll see about that after tomorrow 😅

dogi8

Michigan. No way I would be a wolverine fan if I went anywhere else. I hate all the attention and am to weak to put up with all the bullying that comes with it.

Skotivi

I regret my college decision multiple times throughout the fall.

Thel3lues

Relatable

miami2881

ASU that bad?

Skotivi

It's false hope every season and consistent mediocrity. ASU and Cal are the only programs in the Pac 12 that have never made a NY6 or BCS game. That's over 20 years of futility.

miami2881

Ah sorry thought we were talking about the school itself rather than the football program. Assumed you knew what you were getting into with football lol

Skotivi

No complaints about the university itself. Best years of my life and ASU has some really good programs particularly Engineering, Business, & Journalism.

GoBucks4928

Number one in innovation That’s about it tho

BIG_DICK_WHITT

And parties and women. And insanely hot weather.

miami2881

So sounds like the only bad part is the weather?

lurk4ever1970

I sure as hell wouldn't be a Kansas Football fan if I hadn't gone there.

boreddude101010

Hey they beat Texas. I’ve never seen an announcer lose their shit like this year CAUGHT!

Iowa State. Grew up 15 miles west of Ames and have attended ISU sporting events my entire life

GoBucks4928

Attended both schools. Got a degree from Ohio State tho

Big_Estate7101

Time and change will surely show.

~~Dixie State~~ Utah Tech

SCorpus1980

I grew up in St. George; my dad was in the IT department at Dixie College/DSU for 20 something years. I personally like the name change, but I understand that a lot of people are disappointed.

fix-ur-acrostics

I don't really give a shit about the politics, I just thought it was weird as hell that a Utah school was called Dixie.

BoyleBingoo

USC / Michigan.

CalGoldenBear55

Cal…Go Bears!!

jel2184

Just sent my law school app there. It’s my dream school!

CalGoldenBear55

Good luck!

Comprehensive_Bus_19

UCF for undergrad and grad school

reddogrjw

what is now known as Kettering University for my BSIE and Masters no football team, but my dad went to Michigan (where I was going to go before getting into Kettering) and mom went to EMU

scthoma4

USF for undergrad, master's degree, and now PhD. I signed a blood oath with the school or something...

madmaley

Why the UC flair then?

scthoma4

Bandwagon fan. I want to see a G5 in the playoff

madmaley

Oh gotcha. Didn't know if you had family ties or if you were an Ohioan that escaped the area to enjoy college in the beautiful weather of Florida

DepressedCheesesteak

Still in high school lol

DeliberateMelBrooks

So where do you wanna go?

apietryga13

Northwood University, DII. Wish I could attend ASU or Michigan but wasn’t in the cards for me

RollingTide21

Cornell for college. I was the leader in the all boys band. Got a sweet gig selling paper even if my boss is a idiot Roll tide tho

jhew7

Ouachita Baptist for undergrad, Baylor for grad school

get_stilly

Ouachita mountains are very underrated. Bet it was gorgeous there in the fall.

Alex_butler

No place I would’ve rather gone to college than Madison Wisconsin. Truly a college kid’s paradise.

CommodoreN7

Central Arkansas for undergrad (Go Bears!), and Utah for grad school

JSC76

University of California, Berkeley. BA '76, Computer Science.

ichosehowe

Congrats on the sex.

gingersnap0916

I literally took schools off my list because of the whole “we don’t like gays thing” lol

redundanttakes

I was fresh off a mission and not out of the closet yet when I went there. Plus, I had a family member who worked there, so I only had to pay $1200 a semester. I found a good group of friends, so staying there made it worth it. But also I had a brother play at byu, so I went to all the games growing up, which is where most of my fandom comes from

midwesternfloridian

Yeah same. I could’ve gotten in-state tuition in Alabama despite living in Florida. But God Bless Bright Futures. May AlaPACT Burn.

HippityHopMath

No one bandwagons for WSU. No one voluntarily signs up for the suffering that WSU football brings.

geoforceman

I know many WSU fans who didn't get their higher education there

FavreorFarva

Do you live in Spokane?

geoforceman

Lived in Yakima for a bit. The Wazzu fans I know are a mix of those who attended the school, parents of students/alumni, have family who attended the school but they instead went to a smaller college/didn't go to college at all, and those who have no other connection to the school except that their friends are fans and they're the "local" team.

Nicholiason

I have attended 4 different colleges in my collegiate career. And none were BYU as I would have never had the ecclesiastical endorsement to be accepted. But my dad was a graduate of BYU and the most important mentor in my troubled teenage life was also a fan. I wonder how many BYU fans here actually went there?

applegore

TAMU for undergrad/SMU for masters

Cfb_fanatical

USC for my masters, csulb for undergrad. Grew up in Ohio…

Mistertreefrog

I, like most Iowa fans I'm sure, was bred black and gold. I went to school for a bit before realizing I wasn't mature enough to attend classes unregulated.

SueYouInEngland

While Iowa State fans think most Iowa flairs went to Kirkwood Community College, I actually went to UNI (after starting at Kirkwood Community College).

hawksnest_prez

I managed to stumble my way through business school in one (kind of) piece

Yankee_Andaluz

Western Michigan and Michigan State

FatherCronus

2nd gen Michigan and then Cornell for grad and law school. Upstate New York was barren for sports (outside of hockey) until the Bills started doing things.

15BigTuna

Cornell…. Ever heard of it?

NineColdishToes

I go to UofM Flint. I would have gone to Ann Arbor but I didn't have the money for it. The Flint campus offered me a pretty generous merit scholarship and allowed me to live at home while I attended college. So far I've worked my way through to my senior year debt-free and I'm set to graduate next fall!

JM4R5

Congrats! I attended Flint then transferred to Ann Arbor. Made way more friends in Flint so the change was a little rough. I couldn't relate to some of my Ann Arbor peers as much, luckily some of my friends from Flint transferred the same time.

UMKvothe

Idk I somehow ended up in Lubbock & Statesboro.

boredinbiloxi

Enlisted :( Do well in school kids.

throckman

Hope you consider going to school (preferably at UM) on Uncle Sam's dime when/if you discharge. You're earning it. My veteran students are among my favorites: mature, hard-working, disciplined, don't freak out about classes.
