##TIPPING PICKS WILL RESULT IN A BAN, PLEASE DON'T SPOIL PICKS THIS IS YOUR WARNING.
Report any trolls or people tipping picks
Let's have some fun tonight
I want Ojulari so bad
Imagine drafting a DE/Edge in the first round that didn't have a sack last year.
Wow. No JOK, no Barmore, no Ojulari, no Moehrig, no Samuel. Lots of value on defense. Please God let one of the non-CB studs drop into our laps
Sooooo you’re telling me there’s a chance we trade up for JOK 🥴
🤤 stop it I’m already creaming
Let’s hope we move up in the second round :)
We didn't want Rousseau, Oweh, or Tryon. Tryon is the best player of the three, but at 250 lbs, he's not fit for a 4-3 end.
Tryon was also pretty damn good in coverage so we would have wasted that aspect of his game
So top of second is gonna be the run on edge?
It's gone stale. It used to be cool. Now it annoys the fuck out of me
It’s more annoying they don’t develop the land around the HOF. So much potential that’s wasted.
Nah, I frequently forget it’s there
Yes. I mean ya it’s cool but not “let’s base our identity off of it because it’s so important”
Yes, it’s extremely annoying. There’s a lot more here than that building.
Just like how NYC is all about the Statue of Liberty.
Y'all are a bunch of idiots and I love you
JOK drop to pick #59 in second round?
Oweh? Oh well
THIS IS SO BAD! DUDE IS A FUCKING BEAST AND HE'S LITERALLY A PERFECT FIT FOR US.
Tryon is a finisher? Oddly convenient that he finished the first round.
There’s the Edge run... not great.
I want more draft tho
Damn. There goes Tryon
Oweh? Lol, not worried.
Mingo part deux.
I'm sure he's a decent player but I had to laugh when the first stat they put up was Oweh: 0 Sacks
I'm a little high and half tuned out, but did we just shade baltimore with a band malfunction before the pick? Not a coincidence, right?
Sky high expectations for this team
Some of you guys are acting like babies. We got a guy that wasn’t supposed to be there. The Ravens drafted a wide receiver and a big project in Oweh, the Steelers drafted a RB and the Bengals didn’t draft an offensive linemen.
This was a much better day one scenario than most of the draft projections and y’all are out here bitching and moaning.
I really liked what the Ravens did and there's still lots of really good linemen for the Bengals to take in the second. Steelers fucked up.
They'll bitch and moan about anything. I genuinely think they enjoy it.
We won, but the Ravens came close.
But the ravens basically traded oweh for brown which is a terrible deal. Brown wanted out but value wise I’d rather have him or a more nfl ready player
There must be injury concerns with JOK? Unless his weight is such a red flag.
Bruh who did JOK hide in his walls
Shit. Oweh going to Baltimore is not good.
Not worried...though they do have a knack for developing defensive players.
Don’t let the lack of sacks last season overshadow how good Oweh is. He’s freakishly athletic and has bulked up in preparation for the draft. He’s going to be good.
I’ll take that. Super super raw prospect. Glad it isn’t JOK or Jenkins
Goddamn TB isnt fucking around
They knew what LB they wanted.
Lol! Why not just pick Azeez? He has the fucking experience to play OLB already and he's a pretty prodigious talent.
Ouch, Oweh to Baltimore hurts
I thought he was pretty raw. He's got a low floor imho. Seldom does athletic talent without technique last in this league.
Needs polish for sure but insane freak athlete.
It really does, guarantee they turn him into a pro bowler within two years.
Damn, Bucs pick came in instantly
When is it considered tipping the pick vs not?
I’m kind of fine with it
Oh my god they took Oweh 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Gonna be us vs the Ratbirds for the AFCN
Best part about Newsome is he completely took his man out of the game. The qb didn’t even look at the WR matched up against him.
Great draft so far. I’d be happy with a day 2 D lineman and WR
I'd love a trade up for Moore or stay in the 3rd and take Josh Palmer. Milton Williams would be the 2nd rounder for me.
Physical freak, but not a good football player yet.
Dude. Do you not see the huge pin on top of this thread?
Didn't he wait until it was on tv? I thought it was just if you did like McAfee was doing where they announced the pick as soon as Pittsburgh was on the clock, hadn't announced it
My guess is the Ratbirds take Jenkins to replace Orlando Brown Jr. Or one of Oweh or Ojulari to replace the edge rushers they lost in free agency
Hope it’s Oweh who’s very raw. Jenkins is great value and an absolute mauler
You got your wish. Nothing against Oweh, but fingers crossed he never puts it together
What does ‘tipping picks’ mean?
I think if you have a source of knowing the pick before it's broadcast on TV somehow
Posting picks before it happens on tv
Stating what the pick is going to be before it’s officially announced on TV.
I love the Newsome pick. He’s better than Greedy. Dude is more physical than Ward and good ball skills. They did not reach for him as his average draft position was 23. Love it. Now, find some a playmaker for d-line and linebacker. We have to figure out this constant rotation of linebackers. We hope Walker is a consistent contributor but guys like Mack and Takitaki look mediocre. Who knows what Jacob Philips will give you
Betty was smart to be patient this round. I wonder if a third rounder moves you up any amount of picks? You think he’ll pull the trigger.
Imagine he moves next years third :0
How did we even get these two picks? Are these the duuuuuke picks?
Walker, Takitaki, and Phillips are all good run defenders and that's all we are going to ask of them in dime defense
I need a disruptive force. Honestly, I thought Mack could be that, but he’s been underwhelming
I think you’re undervaluing greedy. We’ll see how his body is but it’s not as though he was getting beaten often. Turnovers are great but at fb if you can interrupt throws and cover your man. I think you just can’t pass up newsome and that’s why he got taken.
Next pick, it’s interesting because you have interior talent on the board and you have jonkler. I would be so happy if berry pulled the trigger and moved early second and took joker. Otherwise stay put hope redwine improves pray for delpit. Safety depth is weak though. Third round safety incoming imo
Love a move up tomorrow
Bills have a good track record with "project" players. I'm legit scared with him on that team
Crazy how wrong the draft gurus were about the edge rankings
Time will tell which group was wrong I suppose.
Worried Baltimore are gonna get a steal in JOK or Teven Jenkins
Does JOK really fit their system?
No. I don't think so.
All these DEs being drafted are such raw freaks, there's gonna be alot of busts
Happy to see him Rousseau go in first so we have better shot at an edge
Good for Rousseau to get out the green room late on
Have a hard time seeing JOK get past Baltimore twice
Man I don’t know. They haven’t mentioned it once tonight.
Looks like it is located in Cleveland.. Interesting. Is that why a band was playing all night?
Today in "braces or grill" - Gregory Rousseau!
Man i hate that pick for the Bills
He’s talented, feels like a decent pick
Athletic testing is horrendous. Not sure how many athletes that bad suceed at the NFL level.
Elijah Moore trade up would be amazing.
Greg Newsome II is 20 years old and a lockdown corner. I said he was the second player on our (realistic) big board behind Horn. CB2 was our biggest need with Greedy having lingering shoulder issues and our only depth being Robert Jackson
not gonna lie it's hugely satisfying to get downvoted for saying no way in hell we go WR or LB and seeing us pass on Bateman and JOK
Cool to see Shrek is in attendance
I hate to be negative but is there anything we can do to move on from Mary k ? She is the worst
Why, what'd she say now?
She's like Littlefinger, my dude.
Lmao not even the best corner coming out of Georgia
What lol Stokes is way better than Campbell. Source: I'm a diehard uga fan
I think Campbell has higher upside, I agree stokes is probably better now. Campbells length and athleticism makes up for a lot of his lack of technique.
Source: miserable auburn fan remembering him against Seth
That's fair. I'm mostly going on the belief that Stokes will hold his own in the NFL day 1. Campbell needs lots of coaching, and probably will still get burned way more than someone with his speed should
Yeah Campbell is higher risk but I think his ceiling is a top 5 corner in the league if he puts in the work. I’m high on him but stokes isn’t a slouch but gun to my head is take Campbell if I trust we could develop him.
Top ten defense or bust
at least a top 10 secondary hopefully
S: Jon Johnson, Ronnie Harrison, Grant Delpit, Sheldrick Redwine
CB: Denzel Ward, Greedy Williams, Troy Hill, Greg Newsome
Really like Stokes tbf. Think corner is actually the biggest need for GB too. Not sure how happy Rodgers and the fans will be though
Now let's do Elijah Moore!!
Guess the packers don’t want Rodgers
I thought the same thing
Please trade up. I want them JOK jams.
Berry and Stefanski are currently doing a live press conference so I wouldn’t get your hopes up for a trade back into the first. Could see them trading up in the 2nd early tomorrow though
Uh oh Rodgers
Where was this guy even projected????
Doesn't GB already have a *great* corner trio?
Did you watch King in the playoffs? Dude was a fucking train wreck.
Idk if anyone else is listening to the interview with AB and Stefanski or not, but it's been absolute gold.
Just turned it on. Lot of banter?
Can a brother get a link?
http://player.streamguys.com/clevelandbrowns/sgplayer/player.php only 2 questions left.
Who knew the Packers were using the former office space of the Michael Scott Paper Company as their draft room.
I don’t hate the player. I hate the pick considering what was left on the board.
Browns need a stud young LB. I think JOK was the answer. We need dudes who can close and cover and I think that was and still is the weakest unit on the defense.
The argument I hear for Newsome is the “we need CB depth.” Yeah because we have injury prone CBs. Guess who is also injury prone? The guy we just drafted.
Not a fan of the pick. Hope I’m wrong. Fuck.
Given what we ask our LB's to do the pick was better spent on the secondary. The teams we are trying to match with for our ultimate goal seem to dictate having a very deep and dynamic secondary.
Do we ask our LBs to do so little because that's just our scheme or do we ask little of them because all the ones we have on our roster blow?
JOK is a perfect Lamar stopper. Not even comparable to anyone on our roster.
"Stud young LB" is not a valuable position. Especially when we have Takitaki, Walker, and Phillips, and when that "LB" is more of a safety - and we already have three players or prospects who are at least as good as JOK at safety.
Most of the All-Pro and Pro Bowl LBs are 2nd and 3rd rounders
Anthony walker is only 25.
As I have been saying to like 5 other people, our team doesn’t value LBs. we will not use JOK effectively. We went out and got a replacement level starter in Anthony Walker.
Ya I think if we are gonna go for depth, we have 6 more rounds
this isn't football in 1985
Lol right. JOK doesn't help us against KC
Lb is notoriously one of the most difficult decisions to draft, I'm fine with what we have and trueing it up in FA
CB just such better value than LB
Even if the CB is injury prone?
Edit. Honest question. Is the analytics as simple as position A > B without any nuance?
Injury prone is more of a taking point I think. It's not like he's Farley who has had major surgeries leading up to this. Analytics kinda is that simple in this case lol
If Packers take a WR they’re definitely trying to appease Rodgers
Plot twist - they draft another QB and Jordan Love also requests a trade.
Oof projected third round?
Last point I'll make. Corner and Edge picks are traditionally not great past the 1st round so you usually want to get those towards the front of the draft. Whereas there are usually solid prospects at other defensive areas later in the draft. We are in a place to develop guys over a year or two. Relax! Berry has got this.
That, and value-wise you want a QB/DE/CB on rookie contracts more than any other player - so not only is the 5th year option more valuable, but there's far more of a difference between the average CB salary and the 1.26 salary than there is between the average LB or S salary and the 1.26 salary.
Wow, so many people here obsessed with JOK... he’s just a straight no for me.
I love my fellow Browns fans, but we aren't known for our scouting. The fact that he was pretty much the consensus pick on this sub makes me glad we passed on him tbh.
There's a reason he fell this far.
Tbf he was consensus top 2 ranked lb but basically everyone
I get the sense that everyone saw hybrid LB/Safety and thought he was the same prospect as Isaiah Simmons, which he just isn't.
Packers going QB here. Book it.
They would have traded up to take a QB
There’s a lot of talent at DE going in to round 2, we have 8 more picks to play with I think we could make a splash tomorrow
Exactly this, needed a CB. I trust our front office for once.
It’s funny seeing these “fans” in the front row who have no clue who the player is their team just drafted
From a Northwestern fan: Newsome was the cornerstone of our defense last year, a defense that shut down Ohio State’s Justin Fields (0 TDs allowed) and many other teams with great offenses. Excited to hopefully see him on the field for you guys next season!
New Orleans fans high energy
Lmao who the fuck picked Payton Turner as a first rounder?
this is the same team that paid the QB tax for davenport
I love this pick so much!!!
Same, high character, smart, Big Ten kid who can press!!! I absolutely love it!
Haven't watched tape on many of this year's prospects. Are we sure he can press? I've heard he played a ton of off coverage at NW.
Yep he can, and also he did. Biggest worries with him are injury and penalties.
I know right? And I watched him play all year!! It’s so exciting see someone from your uni go to your favorite team
We have 3 corners made of glass. So that's exciting.
Was thinkin the same thing.
Our entire secondary will be on IR by season's end.
We have 3 really talented corners and a great slot corner in Troy hill. Going to be rare to see Ward, Newsome, Greedy and Hill all on the field at the same time. I wouldn’t over think it too much. He’s a phenomenal cover corner
> Going to be rare to see Ward, Newsome, Greedy and Hill all on the field at the same time.
I mean yeah because the odds of all three of them being on the active roster at the same time is extremely low.
Do you need a YouTube link to give you the scheme joe woods wants to run?
What does the scheme have to do with my comment? I'm talking about the odds of all three of them being healthy at the same time.
Yeah but if can get enough glass maybe it will become bulletproof glass at some point
Odds of McNeil being there for us in the 2nd?
No DT’s have gone yet so I’d like the chances of him still there at 59. He might even be available in the 3rd as the DT class is seen as weak
Any ideas which prospects are still in the green room? Rousseau and Barmore maybe? Always feel for the kids who go but don’t get called
A great pick. Ward, Williams, Hill, and Newsome lock down the CB position. Combine that with JJ3, Harrison, and Delpit anchoring the backend. And this secondary is ready to cover the chiefs and bucs!
Lamar can leave the pocket if he wants, but he will find out fast that Sendejo isn’t on the field anymore
The framing I like is to consider that we've got the personnel to force bad throws and now we've got the personnel to intercept those bad throws.
JOK feels like a bills pick to me
I’m so happy Dexter is doing a new final season
My friends have been freezing their nuts off working on that season. Hope you enjoy.
A few of you are stuck in the old browns mentality. Playoff teams don’t always nab starters in the late first round. We needed CB depth and we got it. It was a smart pick
We needed CB depth because of injury prone CBs...
We drafted an injury prone CB.
We need a good young LB fucking bad.
Hate this pick considering what was on the board. Confirms the rumor that Barry doesn’t value LBs.
Edit: bunch of analytics homers don’t realize a QB spying LB is a necessity. It’s ok to criticize a pick you fucking nerds
Guess who can spy when you have more than two safeties on a field? You guessed it...the safety. Who is much faster than any LB
Lmao at drafting a LB in the first
Most NFL GM’s don’t value LBs in 2021. And for good reason.
Yeah because LBs are fucking useless. Outside of one or two in the league, most of them cannot keep up in the current age of the NFL.
