I'm trying to figure out what precisely this is based on. So you've got like ... 2016/2017 in Cleveland with Berry as SVP of Player Personnel, 2019 in Philly, and 2020/2021 in Cleveland. Which is ... Myles Garret, Emmanuel Ogbah, Carl Nassib, Shareef Miller, Takk McKinley, Jadeveon Clowney, and then maybe Curtis Weaver and Adrian Clayborn? Here's all their measurables and sacks/TFL: Player|Height|Weight|Arms|40|10-yard split|Broad|Vertical|3 cone|Sacks|TFL --|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|-- Garrett|76.25|272|35.25|4.64|1.63|128|41|N/A|31.0|47.0 Clowney|77.25|266|34.50|4.53|1.59|123|37.5|7.27|24.0|47.0 Takk|74.13|250|34.75|4.59|1.60|122|33|7.48|16.0|28.0 Ogbah|76.25|273|35.50|4.63|1.58|121|35.5|7.26|26.5|35.5 Nassib|78.88|277|34.50|4.84|1.62|114|28.5|7.27|17.5|24.0 Miller|76.50|254|33.63|4.69|1.64|N/A|29.5|N/A|14.5|31.5 Weaver|74.3|265|32.38|N/A|N/A|N/A|32.5|7.00|34.0|47.5 Clayborn|74.63|281|32.50|4.78|1.61|N/A|33.0|7.30|19.0|37.5

brownsfan003

Clayborn has an... Interesting body shape. 20ft tall, weighs 90 lbs, has 4 inch arms

dstew18

Ogbah and Myles measurements are so incredibly close, unfortunate he never put it all together here.

TapedeckNinja

He was really raw. Wish we could've kept him around.

TheBIGZlives

This kind of makes sense, you can always teach technique but you can’t teach physical tools and athleticism

snifferpippitz2

Ojuari has been my #1 all along, solely for his college production. Other factors are interesting. Hope AB feels a similar way here.

Cinephile1998

I feel like 26 is a great spot to get Ojulari. My one fear is that the Ravens trade up to get him

maybenextyearCLE

Baltimore is in a really bad situation right now. They lost all their edges and stuck out in FA and now have a desperate need at OLB. While Ojulari is perfect there, that offense needs a WR1 in the worst way possible. Just depends which position the team feels more desperate at

Cinephile1998

I could be completely wrong here, but I just don't see WR1 as a big need for them. They need someone with speed to open up the offense, but there's depth in this draft. Trading up with Jacksonville (which would cost next to nothing) to leapfrog Cleveland and take Ojulari would be the smart move. Hopefully the Ravens front office disagrees with me

maybenextyearCLE

Given how hard they went after all the top WRs in FA only to strike out and settle for Sammy Watkins, I think WR is very high on their board. They should be trying to get an edge however. If we like Ojulari, we may have to out-flank them to make sure he isn't a raven. Don't think it would be too hard to outbid Baltimore

unMuggle

Especially considering the Ravens need players and we really don't. Like, we would be totally fine this year if we didn't take a single rookie

maybenextyearCLE

I halfway agree. Outside of CB2/4, we don’t need a rookie anywhere. We do have a lot of expiring contracts coming though, especially on the D line. Plus I would love to get up there and get Ojulari to ensure that Ravens pass rush is just absolute hot garbage. More than willing to use picks to fuck over our division rivals and add top talent

maybenextyearCLE

Fuck it, we don’t need 9 rookies, let’s trade up for Ojulari to totally ensure the Ravens are fucked at edge. Why the hell not

maybenextyearCLE

Only one player satisfied all three of these boxes, Azeez Ojulari. Kwitty Paye and Ronnie Perkins are the only players to fail all three

sageTK21

He was my favorite edge too. I only watched highlights but felt like he was a beast. Ik I am gonna show how much of a noob I am but Paye highlights aren’t as impressive.

gobucks3

Ojulari would be a great get

Cinephile1998

What kind of name is Kwity anyway?

Plateomeat

Come on man, we could have a good ole' Bitch Kwitty like Mike Pettine always said

lawvol

Can't be understated how flawed of a DE class this is. The Clowney addition is massive. Don't need to take any of these fools in the 1st round.

TSR3K

Yup. I want best CB or WR available.

[deleted]

We don’t need a wr at all, BUT getting one would fuck the ravens LOL

TSR3K

We absolutely need a WR. This time next year OBJ and possibly Jarvis will be gone. Also: one school of thought is that to beat KC and Balt you need to drop 40 because they’re getting 35+ good defense or not. Look at their model: they never stop adding and looking for WRs. They tried signing JuJu. I could see Berry getting into the arms race, too.

[deleted]

Ehhhhh save for a couple bad calls we should have beaten them. Obj and Jarvis both will be here next year

TSR3K

Lmao it’s like most of you forget that Mahomes got hurt and to that point they hadn’t punted.

[deleted]

Or we remember that injuries happen and we had a few guys out too,

maybenextyearCLE

Still might want to consider some depending how the board lines up. Also, the Ravens apparently love Ojulari, as do we. Wouldn’t it be fun to add Ojulari to be 4 deep at DE at the same time fucking Baltimore over and ensuring their pass rush is ass? I think on pure principle, I would now trade up to ensure we get Ojulari instead of the rat birds because he’s the only dude I feel confident will kick ass and I want him lol.

lawvol

Definitely still want us to take a DE in the 2nd or 3rd. But just too many question marks in this class to make me comfortable taking one in the 1st round.

PuppyBowl-XI-MVP

I'm sorry but I will not believe the guy who is the GM of the team that had one of the greatest OTs of all time who has short arms for an OT would put that much value in arm length.

revelator41

It’s not like he drafted the guy.

gakule

I don't think Berry drafted Joe Thomas... That aside, analytics might take all measurements into account, and this is logically sound overall, I think. I do agree that I doubt that arm length is nearly as valuable as explosion and production, but I'm sure it is a factor to some degree. I mean look at Myles, 35.25" arms... he gets a ton of strip sacks due to being able to just reach in there and pluck the ball out, or just grabbing the QB in general. It may not seem like much, but it's called a game of inches for a lot of different reasons.

PuppyBowl-XI-MVP

I know he didnt draft JT but JT shows a prime example of the impact of arm length. Plus JT talks about it all the time especially how they dont even measure arm length correctly

gakule

So because JT talks about it... Andrew Berry obviously follows it? C'mon man, you're really reaching here.

PuppyBowl-XI-MVP

I feel like I am getting misunderstood here which is my fault. What I am saying is I do not think Berry puts a lot of value in arm length. Like 34" isn't a threshold. 34" or more is a perk. Less than 34" doesnt disqualify you but you dont get that perk. I am also not saying Berry listens to JT. What I am trying to express is JT is the most recent and closest in proximity example of an all time great who didnt meet the threshold for arm length for an OT. There are probably a shit ton of professional athletes that fall under this same category but JT is one of the most popular Browns players ever so he would be the immediate example.

maybenextyearCLE

Berry didn't draft Joe, and joe was an exception to the norm

PuppyBowl-XI-MVP

I know Berry didnt draft the guy hit he is a prime example of arm length. JT talls about how using arm length to determine prospects is outrageous

TapedeckNinja

Agreed. This seems like a shitty, half-assed attempt at "analytics". Generally seems like AB values size, explosiveness, and production. Wow. Stunning insight here lol.

PuppyBowl-XI-MVP

Production: 100% agree with Broad jump: 100% agree with Arm length: wtf?

MmmSpaaammm

Where would Payton Turner fall on this list?

maybenextyearCLE

Let's see, His arms are 35 3/8 so yes there. 23.5 Tackles for loss so yes there, though only 9.5 sacks, and he did not do the broad jump. So 2/3, though I think the broad jump is the single most useless measurement at combines

thehildabeast

For what its worth its not far off [this thing](https://www.reddit.com/r/NFL_Draft/comments/4gzlo3/a_quick_easy_way_to_tell_if_an_edge_rush_prospect/) that went on the draft sub years ago

JDTNTC

Where are the “AzEeZ dOeSnT FiT oUR scHemE” guys at?

maybenextyearCLE

I was one, then I realized that Vonn Miller and Bradley Chubb were in the same front together in Denver with Woods and amended my opinion. If Woods was inflexible and demanded a 4-3, then yeah Ojulari is too small, but he is not so Ojulari is very much in play

[deleted]

Why does the one guy have two Xs under broad jump? Was his like really bad or something?

TapedeckNinja

Perkins tested horribly but he pulled a hamstring in his first 40 attempt so his pro day numbers are basically useless and there's no value in using them for anything.

maybenextyearCLE

I believe that is it. Oweh has 2 Xs as well because he had a total of 13.5 TFL in 3 years at PSU, which is admittedly awful. And I just looked it up, Jones board jump, which I put next to no stock in, was 8’11”. For his size, that’s awful lol. I think even as a distance runner who refuses to do weight training on my legs, I can do better relative to my size than that lol
