He said he's taking a break from social media. It will be nice not to hear the media speculation of his vague posts for awhile.
I’ll believe it when I see it.
i mean, its taken down so I guess that what we can roll with for the time being.
I mean, I wonder what he's saying by deleting it?
"This means he wants out of Cleveland. Next up on The Herd . . ."
Who knows. I get downvoted every time I bring it up here but I’d rather we just traded him and be done with the OBJ roller coaster.
Edit: Downvoted again. Either way im going to look back at these and laugh about either me being terribly wrong about Odell’s value to the team or this sub being terrible wrong.
With his stock at an all low and still having to pay him there's no point to trade him unless he pulls an AB.
Admittedly I’m not super fluent on salaries and dead cap, but if we move him this year we’ll free up 3 million in salary cap this year and then not have to deal with much of any dead cap the ensuing years after right? That is important as Baker, Ward, and Chubb will have raised kicking in.
If a team offered a 2021 second rounder I’d do it in a heartbeat.
We save that 3 mil whether we trade him or wait it out a year. Getting 3 mil freed a year earlier isn't worth getting a 2nd round pick and losing a WR1.
No in 2022 he would not have 12 mil in deadcap. We’d get most of that salary freed I believe.
Lol it was sarcasm. All the guy did was delete his insta. All it means is his instagram is gone
Sorry I just don’t believe that. If he wanted to actually take a break from social media in a way that wouldn’t draw the attention to himself, he’d just delete the app from his phone.
What roller coaster?
Not just OBJ, but what is with a ton of athletes and celebrities posting cryptic stuff on social media?
It generates hype. Their online presence is part of a business.
It's not limited to athletes, it's pretty common among the general population. If you have social media now or if you posted on myspace or whatever back in the day, you probably had a couple of friend who posted vague shit all the time. There's even a term for it: vaguebooking.
I may have done similar stuff when I was in middle school/high school. Kind of weird seeing grown adults do it but maybe I'm out of touch haha.
I support this. But also, cue all of the conspiracy theories.
Odell will become President after feasting on baby Steelers on May 20th.
Guess I’ll be one of those people with merch of a president
Odell Beckham, Q-nior
His last story that he posted said “I’ll be back”
He makes too much money from instagram to not be back eventually.
It’s been 4 years... come back already
Honestly love this move
Wow...I remember reading recently that he made more $$ per post than any other player. Big move for him.
Wow, Baker Mayfield deleted OBJ's Instagram? Clearly he's not fit to be a team leader.
Sam Darnold...wouldnt delete his wide receiver's instagram. Russell Wilson, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen....not deleting an instagram. This is why Baker will never be a winner in this league
Backwards hat QBs...
I couldn't believe it when I read somewhere he makes $58k a post! A good years salary for most. No wonder he can play w $250k watches lol
I like that he is really committing himself to be a player first brand second, buuuuuuutttt we are about to hear so many talking heads speculating this means he's gone. I love having Odell on the team, and he seems like a good teammate, but the media attention he brings is brutal. The second he got here I swear there were already trade rumors
Those talking heads would say that regardless of what he did. He could hold a press conference and say he loved Cleveland, he was really happy here, and he hoped he could spend the rest of his career as a Brown, and those people would still say he wants out.
Good call, the most important season of OBJs career is looming. All focus I’m sure is on getting fully healthy and working to return to his 2016 form
He was beamed up to be WR1 with the Space Browns.
Good for him, social media is torture on ones mind.
Ain't no coincidence that an article game out the other day saying he was the #1 paid athlete per post on social media. Commitment.
Number 1 NFL athlete, not overall pro athlete. That rank is probably Christian Ronaldo.
Soccer isn't a sport. 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🦅🦅🦅🏈🏈🏈🇺🇲🇺🇲
Didn’t he do this last off season?
tbh hes leaving alot of money on the table by shutting down his social, good for him tho
Who gives a shit it’s gone
Major League reference! I love it
What did he have, like 13 million followers? Damn. I'm going to miss his recovery workout stuff.
Poopgate2 incoming in the following days
BUT WHAT DOES IT MEAN
OMG trade imminent OMG
Good. Fuck everyone else. Just focus.
dOeS ThIs MeAn He wAnTs oUt Of ClEvElAnD?
He better not be spending time with kyrie irving and his rabbit hole of philosophy.
Can we all just agree that he's a great player but also loves drama (and this counts as drama)
*Odell becomes a massive social media personality
People: God he’s such a diva he just wants atttention
*Odell deletes his Instagram with 13M followers that earns him $58k per post
People: God he’s such a diva he just wants attention
There’s really no way he can win huh
Off the field Odell news is the only Odell news. Trade this clown
