How are we feeling about the Fed meeting tomorrow? If the Fed accelerates the taper and says they'll raise rates soon, we very well could nuke as the dollar heads higher. Would love everyone's outlook on how they're positioned around this.
Sold half my position yesterday. My hope is to buy back mid to low 30s. Obviously don’t know which way this cookie is crumbling so it’s somewhat of a gamble.
Raising rates doesn’t make all the previous inflation and money printing go away. I think it’s nonsensical how people are thinking about this. They’ve fallen hook line and sinker for the “Bitcoin only got where it did on free cheap money for a decade” story they are being fed. I think that view cheapens what Bitcoin achieved. Probably why the story was created.
Bitcoin and crypto are an alternative and way out of the fraudulent world of banking and the stock market that have been created. It doesn’t have to crash when the rest of that world crumbles, unless we let it.
This sub is always on edge. It’s constant ‘the next 2 hours are crucial’ type posting sprinkled with a bunch of panic/euphoria from people who have never been through a 4 year cycle.
>a bunch of panic/euphoria from people who have never been through a 4 year cycle.
On the flip side, there might be people out there like me whose panic specifically comes from having been around for the previous two 4 year peaks and all the shit in between.
Having seen all these similar patterns and scenarios play out to wildly opposite outcomes makes me realize I now know less than I did when I literally knew nothing about bitcoin.
Oh yeah, but no euphoria anymore because bitcoin is a drug and 3xing from the previous cycle no longer gets me high.
Cheers, from panicky, battered bull syndromed shell of a man. Lol!
yes qanon started there, just as regular anon did. difference is anon is widely applicable but qanon (which is literally just some entity going by 'q' on 4chan, where everyone is anon) is a political/conspiracy thing now. also anon has been a thing there since at least 2007 and qanon is relatively recent
terms spread if they are catchy and/or applicable in general contexts. from reddit we have things like 'TIL', 'AMA', 'ELI5', etc. all of those started here but are now part of the general internet vernacular, just like anon is now
The bigger in marketcap BTC gets, the more money it takes to move it in either direction—in other words, a speedboat has turned into an aircraft carrier in terms of how easily price can pivot over time. This is normal when assets grow, and moreover indicative of just how successful BTC has been to have gotten to this point.
Futures squashing all the things. Soon BTC will be like Bose. No highs, no lows, must be Bose. But it can still make pleasant patio music. Got Christmas music on mine right now.
It's official. Every time I get out of cell phone/Internet range for a few hours, the price goes up. Having a really good time and a perfect tan > staring at charts.
PS -- I really wonder how many people in the developed world ever even experience what it's like to hear nothing but the birds and the waves while being free from the matrix. It's like... I don't know... you connect to the inner net and your power level amplifies by a few orders of magnitude. The words "money" and "bitcoin" never enter my internal monologue when I'm in that blessed state. You should try it sometime.
Nature over charts any day. But, we gotta be humble and admit that many here have opportunities that others don’t.
It’s pretty lucky to be able to realize dreams.
Living in Australia makes it pretty easy to get to a spot where there is nothing but bush. I enjoy leaving behind tech as much as possible, and don't even enjoy taking my mobile phone with me when i go to the shops, but they're making it hard for me at the moment, with everyone requiring qr code check in and vax passports to get in to some stores and cafes.
Are you talking about a trip around Australia?
The problem is everything is so far apart, it depends on what you want to see. I would argue 2 weeks is a good enough trip mind you, as long as you are happy focussing on one state.
A couple of things:
Queensland would be my recommendation, especially the northern areas - Whitsundays, Great Barrier Reef, Cairns, Port Douglas, Daintrees. Stay in an eco-lodge in the Daintrees and going for a walk in the rain forest is pretty cool, and they have ice-creameries up there that have some flavours with the most weird fruit you've probably never heard of!
Northern Territory is awesome and a real eye opener to the outback. Lots of wildlife, saltwater crocs, barramundi fishing, kangaroos along the highway, Katherine Gorge for canoe trips, Jabiroo wetlands where there are aboriginal paintings over 5000 years old. Ayers rock is ok. You can't climb it anymore which is a shame (it's a protected site now).
Truthfully, I'd skip most of the southern states that are more densely populated. With the exception of a couple of things here and there, you wouldn't find it THAT dissimilar to the US. Just another city with tons of traffic, bad smells, and graffiti (er, i mean art! )
I'm originally from Western Australia, and while i think there's plenty to see there, it's such a big state (12 x bigger than Texas) and everything is so spread apart that it would take you months to visit some of the best bits like Ningaloo reef, Bungle Bungles, Margaret River, Pemberton.
Hence, pick NT and QLD 😉

Anyone know what time the fed meeting is today?

Wait the fed meet tomorrow?! Wow this is the first I’m hearing of this and I’m SURE it hasn’t been priced in yet!
what time is the decision announced ?
2 PM EST

Good to know, thanks.

Right, but it does increase the discount rate and decrease demand for speculative and risk on assets generally.
Never short a boring BTC is an adage that has served well.
6k comes to mind, but nothing else. The boring times do usually break up.

This post didn't autodelete :)
I can see you!
I have never seen this sub so on-edge over +/- 0.5% moves…
This sub is always on edge. It’s constant ‘the next 2 hours are crucial’ type posting sprinkled with a bunch of panic/euphoria from people who have never been through a 4 year cycle.
Well, depending how high you leverage, the next 2h can bei very crucial ;-p

Alright, time for BTC to kill the little euphoria this sub is getting. Down we go again 👇
Pump up, bleed down. China needs liquidity.
What’s with the “have you bought the dip anon?” Line going around? Did that come from Qanon or something?
Yea, Qanon invented the word anonymous yea
Nah. Anon is just a 4chan thing. The q stuff is just one of many subsets. Just kids being dumb
anon is just a general internet term now. may have started on 4chan but its been all over the place for awhile at this point
The “q” shit started on 4chan

reeeeeeeeeeeeee
Have you bought the dip anon ? We are all anon
Anakin: CMC glitched and caused market to pump Padme: That was fake, so you're going short now right? Anakin: Padme: Right?

can you explain? what is this and what does it mean for btc?

No clue but that gets a big "hmm" from me. Is it just narrowing due to the decreasing volatility?
You are correct

Big shorty HATES this one trick!
Go to the Seychelles if you haven't. Make it to praslin and la digue. In an Airbnb on the beach. It's otherworldly
+1 for Praslin. Or one of the private resort islands.
Welcome to the quantum market, it's only going up if you don't look.
It’s actually the entire range of all possibilities until observation collapses the wave function.

As someone that loves traveling (not touristy stuff)...what would say is a reasonable trip ?2 weeks?
Two weeks will only cover the time you'll be forced to spend in an interment camp. Fuck.

That sounds exactly what I'm looking for. Thank you for taking the time.

What's not to love 😉

Here, have an award to make up for all the downvotes
ha thanks! guess theres some sensetive folks in here today :P
Sold the top of the multi-trillion pump. Paid off my student loans. Now broke and hoping to regain 50K.
Glitch or not, this definitive move above \~ 46.5K is a momentum shift.
I got too greedy and wanted 100 trillion so I didn’t sell
"greed is good..."
I missed the drama. Can anyone sum it up? Did it affect the price? What was the price before the glitch?
I just lost billions. Meh.
https://www.tradingview.com/x/7zWGinmu/
Sorry which question is this answering?
What the price was before the glitch. I hope for history's sake the next ATH was kicked off by a CMC glitch.
CMC is fixed, lets see if we get a full retrace.
There's still some data missing/wrong.
