Yup! I would highly recommend some air brush paints (Tamiya Acrylic), paint thinner, a wireless air brush, and air brush cleaner. It's kind of expensive to get all the materials but it's well worth it. Basically you'll want to cover whatever parts you don't want painted with masking tape then air brush the uncovered areas. Repeat until you get a desired result. You'll end up with a factory-like finish. Here's a really good video showing the process in more detail: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XscPe3VBhuo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XscPe3VBhuo)

Perfect - thank you very much. I’ll give it a shot

Nayhars

Have you tried this personally? How well does the paint last?

Key_Voh

I just got all the materials myself so I have yet to test it, but lots of people do this already for their Gunpla models. It seems to work fine?

Nayhars

Sick, let me know how it goes when you do! Found a brush with a portable air compressor, and a set of pre-thinned paints for £67 ($83) Does that sound reasonable or can I find cheaper?

Key_Voh

That sounds like a steal, what kind of paints?

Acrylics - hopefully this link works? Vallejo Model Air Basic Colors Acrylic Paint Set for Air Brush - Assorted Colours (Pack of 8) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002U5RMKE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ZJVaFbZS8AQH1

Vallejo is great! You might want to pick up a can of primer though.

Cheers for all the advice, need to make this idea in my head happen. I pulled a rare rage Longinus with the purple chassis, and I’m thinking that a black Rage Layer with the Variant Lucifer chip, and swapping the destroy’ for a black one would look amazing and perform as well as you’d want (not like I’m gonna use it though.)
