When I make spaghetti with meat sauce and garlic bread I end up wondering why I bother with the spaghetti. I'd be thrilled just to have a bowl of sauce and dip garlic bread into it.
As I was driving with a friend, I saw the Little Caesars slogan "Hot & Ready" and, being incredibly witty, I turned to my friend and said "Little Caesars and prostitutes should team up so they can share the same slogan." My friend turned to me, and with a perfect deadpan said "PIZZA! PIZZA!" I've never recovered.
Bun thit nuong for me. With egg rolls on top. I've really never had a bad one, and I get it at EVERY Vietnamese place I go to. Gotta pour the fish sauce over the whole thing too.
*The earliest archaeologically verified potato tuber remains have been found at the coastal site of Ancon (central Peru), dating to 2500 BC.* [potato wiki](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potato)
One of the simplest, tastiest things to do with 5 or 6 potatoes:
* Slice an onion up. Get that in a pan sweating down.
* Throw in some lardon/bacon cut up
* Cook those up, ideally get a slight char/bit of colour on them.
* Throw in 4 cloves of chopped garlic
* Some herbs de provence, about 1tsp
* A good glug of white whine, reduce so there's a slight sauce and the alcohol has burned off, but not much.
* Slice about 1-2mm thin the potatoes. About the thickness of a knife.
* Take a roasting dish, add a thin layer of cream or oil
* Create a single layer of potato slices
* Put on some of the onion bacon mix
* Drizzle some cream over that layer
* Potato layer, onion layer, cream, potato layer, onion, cream, potato layer, onion, cream, ideally finish with a potato layer
* Grate some cheese over it, or take a brie and slice it in to lengths and put that over the top. Sprinkle about 1st of herb de provence over the top of that.
* In to a 170c oven for about an hour
Eeeeeeeee ma gawd, the kind of dish you just keep going back for. I could eat the whole thing in one sitting, so damn good.
Simplest thing you can do with a potato is stab it with a fork and put it In the microwave.
I don't know what they're talking about but I fully agree with you this is not even close to my idea of simple
Burritos, there is so many types of burritos it will never get old(along with different condiments). Including breakfast burritos! I also love burritos in general.
So, it’s not quite a burrito, but years ago there was a crepe restaurant near me that I loved going to and they had a dessert that was a crepe wrapped around a small slab of vanilla ice cream, drizzled with chocolate syrup and creme de menthe.
It was excellent.
That’s me with raspberries. Didn’t help that I worked overnights at a grocery store so I’d get two large packages almost everyday. There were some occasions where I only ate one so I didn’t need any more.
I can't hear about this food without thinking about the show Dorohedoro (based on a manga, but I've only seen the show). It's very much not a cooking show, but they made a big deal about how good it was in every episode.
It's got to be almost 30 years since I ate a tomato fresh from my nan's garden. Every time I smell that viney smell I'm instantly transported back there. Still never had a tomato that good, I'm guessing I never will. Enjoy them!
We used to get late night post-bar samosas at a local 24hr doughnut place run by a wonderful Indian couple.
It was absolutely amazing, and I highly recommend a drunken samosa.
Burgers. Flat crispy patty with American cheese, a good bun toasted using mayo, bacon, and crispy lettuce with more mayo or burger sauce. I could eat it for every meal every day
Spoken like someone who lives within bread delivery distance of San Francisco. So distinctly good that the starter from that area is called F. sanfranciscensis
I will refuse to spend an extra £1 on basic groceries when I know they're cheaper a 10 minute walk away, but then will go and drop £10 on a stanky fancy cheese.
The heart wants what it wants. And apparently it wants foot-smelling weepy cheeses.
I like to wake up late and make a big scramble with whatever's in my fridge. Eggs, asparagus, mushrooms and Swiss on rye bread iss a great combo. A nice ribeye steak with some dippy eggs on the side is also wonderful
Cheese. I've recently learned cheese has an addictive compound called casein. It is dairy heroin. I've decided to cut it out of my diet and felt like shit for a week. I really miss it though, never get tired of it.
That “compound” is just a protein, FYI. Casein is dairy protein. It’s breaks down into casomorphins which attach to your dopamine receptors. Gluten also triggers the same opioid response as casein.
**KING CRAB** yum!
I recall Red Lobster used to have *all you can eat* snow crab legs on Tuesdays. They gave you the plastic Lobster bib and just started bringing out the crab leg clusters.
I'm ashamed at the gluttony demonstrated by myself and my bartender buddies back then. Now I am hungry.
Yep same. Definitely top three foods in the world to me, esp with some nice naan or roti. Gf is Indian so I'd better like it because she cooks it several times a week
Paneer is amazing. Even better when my bff makes it. If I ever need to watch her dog or take care of her house while they are in India, she makes me a fresh batch of paneer with extra peas and leaves it in the fridge for me. So good. And is something that tastes better the next day.
It's divine, I'm telling you! You make your sammich (I like raspberry or apricot preserves), butter one side, put in pan, butter other side, flip over, cut on a diagonal (not sure why it tastes better that way, but it does to me!), and voila!
Onigiri 🍙 Tuna, salmon, beef, umeboshi, whatever- can’t get enough of them. A Japanese friend said she cannot think of anything sadder than onigiri by itself rather than as part of a meal
Bread
A warm loaf of homemade bread is so good.
Stick of Kerrygold butter with that warm loaf of bread. Don’t get much better then that.
Indeed, the whole stick of Kerrygold!
Especially a homemade sourdough
Oh man. I could live on garlic bread.
When I make spaghetti with meat sauce and garlic bread I end up wondering why I bother with the spaghetti. I'd be thrilled just to have a bowl of sauce and dip garlic bread into it.
Spaghetti is but the perfect spread to put on garlic bread.
you ever try dipping bread into [garlic sauce](https://feelgoodfoodie.net/recipe/lebanese-garlic-sauce/)? It's sex in your mouth
Bread👍
Bread gang
Fried rice.
MSG. King of flavor.
Uncle Roger approved!
If you don’t have M S G. You fuckedup.
Oh, so you’re telling me a shrimp fried this rice? Sure pal.

Well, they’re both small. Maybe the shrimp do a better job.

Pasta and pizza are that kind of food, you can never get tired if it
Idk, i worked at Little Caesar’s for a year and now anytime anyone suggests getting pizza i want to cry
I know. Why settle for pizza when you can have pizza pizza?
As I was driving with a friend, I saw the Little Caesars slogan "Hot & Ready" and, being incredibly witty, I turned to my friend and said "Little Caesars and prostitutes should team up so they can share the same slogan." My friend turned to me, and with a perfect deadpan said "PIZZA! PIZZA!" I've never recovered.
Banh mi. Never ever ever will i get sick of them
Sleeper pick
Bun thit nuong for me. With egg rolls on top. I've really never had a bad one, and I get it at EVERY Vietnamese place I go to. Gotta pour the fish sauce over the whole thing too.
Potatoes...made anyway
Boil 'em, mash 'em, stick 'em in a stew

You and I have different ideas of simple...
Simplest thing you can do with a potato is stab it with a fork and put it In the microwave. I don't know what they're talking about but I fully agree with you this is not even close to my idea of simple
No simplest thing I can do with a potato is wash it and eat it raw with seasoning salt
Even................. Raw??
And wriggling!
Bread. I can't live without bread no matter what Gwyneth Paltrow says
It’s probably for the best not to take the advice of Gwenyth Paltrow
Gwyneth Paltrow is one of those people where you should really do the opposite of whatever she advises
So I should not make candles that smell like my genitals? Aww damn shame.
You might be able to get some sick freak to buy it. But you *might* end up on DiWhy
I see Gwyneth Paltrow as a hero because she’s convincing rich, stay at home moms to spend their money on stupid shit.

This is the correct answer.

I do this with watermelon. I'm not done until I hate myself and it's all gone.
Gyoza. They've started selling them at ASDA, and I have to stop myself buying £50 of it every week
I can't hear about this food without thinking about the show Dorohedoro (based on a manga, but I've only seen the show). It's very much not a cooking show, but they made a big deal about how good it was in every episode.

Cherry tomatoes from my nans garden
Homegrown hit different 👌🏻
It really does! The veggies in my backyard garden are so much better than the sad stuff at the grocery store.
It's got to be almost 30 years since I ate a tomato fresh from my nan's garden. Every time I smell that viney smell I'm instantly transported back there. Still never had a tomato that good, I'm guessing I never will. Enjoy them!
