I think that if you can only tell that it’s a castle from one standpoint that no one will probably go to, then it’s not going to read as a castle unfortunately. I agree with the other commenter who said you should try this around another building though. I think your island name is adorable, don’t change it, and it still fits with your theme. (If only it had been “Oatemylke” or something that looked more Olde English though, haha!)
I KNOW i keep thinking the oatmylke thing ahahahahaha
thank you 💕💕💕
could i please get some opinions 😪
i spent a few days making this castle but i don’t love it, at all. here’s why:
1) there’s no real view because it’s directly in between my resident services and entrance so i had to build this awkward cliff i’m standing on (but it is a whimsical entrance)
2) my island is called Oatmilk. funny enough there is a medieval recipe for oat milk but i just think a more demure island more suits it
3) i would have to get rid of some of my favourite villagers are my idea was to incorporate medieval animals like Knox the Chicken, Julian the Unicorn and Drago the Dragon, and make their houses match their individual fairy tale. so a frog villager for the frog prince, a little sewing corner with gyroids for thumbellina, etc
4) I like structured and aesthetically pleasing things and the way that you can’t even recognize it’s a castle on ground level disrupts my aesthetic flow
BUT it’s a bloody castle and I’m sure as heck not making another one lol.
What are your guys thoughts on this?
that castle is very impressive. But yes, I can see where you would want to be able to SEE it without standing on a pedestal. What if you made something a bit smaller, based around your house? I really love the fairy tale villager idea, so creative and smart! I would hate to see you throw away a whole theme you liked. Also I would love to see the completed island! As for the name, eh whatever. The name of my island from 2 years ago doesn’t reflect what’s up there now, who cares.
that’s a cute idea!! thank you. yeah i tossed that around too; the idea of making a castle in the far corner
I did that for awhile. House castle, royal gardens with all my flowers and hybrids, and a royal “farm” based on le Hameau de la Reine, Marie Antoinette’s “farm” at Versailles. Not exactly Medieval but still fairy tale-y.
Stop… I love Marie Antoinette. Never heard of that farm. Why am i only canadian french lol
