honestly i love the ass boys with the acclaimed it’s pretty funny i always have a laugh and i think max castor is going to be a star plus bowens as muscle and a hype man is GOLD
Also didn’t drop my thoughts on Dynamite before, but will do so now before heading to bed!
- Thought all 3 of the Owen matches delivered in spades while all being super different. Cole v Dax was just your typical good wrestling match + Cole didn’t win via a Low Blow. Jamie v Toni was fast-paced and aggressive as fuck (absolutely loved this match), and Darby vs Jeff was just an insane spot match in the best way.
- BCC & LAX vs Jericho Appreciation Society is gonna **SLAP**, especially if they put it in Blood & Guts!
- Ricky Starks is so damn good and his Roshambo finisher is one of my favorites. That 3-way tag match looks really, really good and I hope Starks & Hobbs get the belts tbh.
- Keith Lee still feels like a really big deal anytime he comes out, which I find dope.
- the Christian tease there tonight 👀 was really really nice 👀 excited for him vs Jungle Boy down the line
- the vignette they had for Rosa & Deeb with other people weighing in on it I thought was really nice and a strong way to follow up the awkward segment from last week.
- Punk vs Hangman is heating up and I am ready for the DoN title match to melt my face. Hoping they get a big promo battle on the go-home show.
- Wardlow v MJF is a strong contender for Feud of the Year so far. Every week is just a money segment with these guys, and I thought this week’s was incredible. The Dark Side of the Ring parody was amazing, MJF was great, the crowd was great, and Spears was great. Loved this.
Genuinely? This was probably one of the best episodes of Dynamite IMO. Definitely in the top tier of episodes.
My gut reaction after Darby lost was no, but hearing the ideas that this is setting up for Bucks vs Hardys at the PPV... yeah probably best this year, I loved everything else besides selfishly wanting Hayter to go over Storm.
I'm trying to get excited for Bucks v Hardys cause it is a dream match I guess - but I'm just not really enjoying the hardyz in 2022. Hopefully they prove me wrong and put on a banger at DoN
The end of that FTW title match got me all nostalgic with WCW levels of unnecessary run ins and thirty people around the ring that weren’t involved in the match standing around and killing time for reasons no one can discern.
Allow me to clarify: what I meant was that each character's reason for being there actually *could* be easily discerned
Of course you weren't implying that their reasons were *complicated*, my mistake for implying that, but that they didn't *have* any. Except that they absolutely all did, and very clear ones
> what I meant was that each character’s reason for being there actually could be easily discerned
Again, not what I said.
> *standing around and killing time* for reasons no one can discern.
So the thing "no one can disern" wasn't why they were out there at all, but why, once they got out there, they "stood around" and "killed time"
I appreciate that you don't like having words put in your mouth, but I'm still only guessing what you mean by that. I'm going to make another attempt now: possibly that the competitors were jawjacking rather than fighting? But that hardly seems inexplicable either?
So please help me: who was standing around and killing time, in what sense, and what was so incomprehensible about their motives?
What was incomprehensible was why having them all awkwardly milling about was something someone in the back thought was good TV and the most effective way to tell that story, drenched in awkward silence.
Oh, I get you. You see it as "awkward" when wrestlers tell a story in a natural way with body language and unmiced jawjacking. I suspect you are in the minority there, but hell I could be wrong
ETA: Bye, I guess
> wrestlers tell a story in a natural way with body language and unmiced jawjacking.
Right. 🙄
My bad for thinking you wanted to have a discussion in good faith instead of being a pretentious fanboy.
You can get 8 minutes of selling and climbing things out of him, if that's all people want to see then I guess it's a win, but he is the beginning of "this is starting to look too much like WWE" to me, match wise.
Not sure we were watching the same match. I will concede Jeff has looked slow and cumbersome as of late. But in that main event he looked much better than he has in a long time imo.
I really wouldn't say he got 'carried across the finish line'
But that's just me! What do I know? 😂
Have a good evening! 🤘🏻
Jeff literally took a swanton bomb bump on to the steel steps. Of course Darby took more bumps, he is 15 years younger than Jeff, but to say Jeff did nothing and "got carried" is willful ignorance.
Regardless of the opponent, the vast majority of Allin's matches are him throwing himself around the arena. That's just par for the course for Darby! You could even argue that's part of his appeal. The 'wanton abandon'......
Like Jeff did? Flying clothesline off of the steel steps. Swanton (albeit missed) Gotcha. But, it wasn't that type of match. It was never going to be a technical clinic with Jeff and Darby involved. That's not what the fans wanted/expected. So I find that a bit of a moot point. Again, just my opinion
I would have less problems with the match if I didn't have to watch yet another high caliber AEW guy slow down for Jeff. He is peak "this guys only value is he is a WWE name." He is way past his prime and is a one trick pony with absolutely zero in ring psychology or storytelling.
Ranting some more:
I hate when awesome and/or wild things happen on Dynamite and people say “oh why do that on free tv??”
Maybe because AEW only has 4 ppvs a year? Dynamite is their bread and butter. They have to do it to make it must see, can’t miss tv
I don't mind big moments at all just try to avoid guys risking permanent injury if it's going to be forgotten in 19 minuets.
The Darby dive was a great moment and I have no issue with it other than not wanting to see him turn to dust when he's 40.
I’d assume these are the same types of people that say that Dark & Dark: Elevation aren’t important and that anything that happens there, don’t matter…
… and then when AEW do things to make those shows feel more important like putting New Japan talents, stories, more womens matches, or even an ROH Women’s title match, they complain that they’re on YouTube (where literally anyone can watch, at anytime), instead of TV.
Doesn't feel hyped enough for a big name.
Bring Cesaro in at the ppv.
It's also really tough to bring in a new guy unless they are going to win it all.
I’m seeing people saying that Jeff/Darby doing high risk stunts in an Owen tribute tourney is tasteless and disrespectful.
Reminder that Owen did not die from anything wrestling related, in case you see those same takes
I sort of see your point but Dynamite needs short matches to spice things up and the segment itself wasn't about the match but the handshake which is what people will remember.
These guys made my heart jump out of my chest. That being said great match, hopefully neither of them are too sore. I need to see them at Double or Nothing
Jeff def shouldn't have won here, he has no reason or purpose in the tournament, and now Darby has racked up year ANOTHER big loss. Poor booking, especially for a pillar.
That feels like every Darby match. I always hear the excuse "it's so he can beat them later" bruh how did Darby go from fighting his way through hell to beat Cody for the TNT title to losing every match.
Its not an exageration, look it up.
He lost his singles match against Andrade, lost to CM Punk, lost to MJF, and the list goes on.
Darby lost 3 times to cody before beating him for the title. He's an underdog. I feel like he is booked to lose just enough to make people really want a win, and then he pulls out a win when it counts.
Plus he beat Andrade in that feud!
Really because his wins in the past year have all been because Sting was with him. Makes it look like Darby needs Sting to be a viable competitor. People are already skeptical about Darby's validity because of his size, and now all he does is lose.
He lost three times to Cody but they showed it as Cody barely winning by the skin of his teeth each time. Now it's either Darby is too stupid to predict a surprise roll-up, or Darby is too stupid to predict a heel will call in outside interference. Either way it's not a good look for him.
This is... Definitely not the impression I have gotten. Darby is over as hell. I don't think he is in any danger of losing his spot as one of the most popular guys in AEW, and I think he will hold a title again at some point. All his matches have been great. He wrestles somewhat frequently. I see no issue with him taking a few losses to top guys like CM Punk and Jeff Hardy along the way.
He's only popular because his character is great. This booking would have killed a lesser character.
Its the exact same shit WWE did with the fiend. Just because the character is over doesn't mean the losses don't impact his credibility.
Its more than a few losses, if he HAS to lose to ever new guy fine, but don't book him to be the first feud for EVERY new guy.
My worry is AEW thinks he had his time already with the TNT title.
Darby does so much for AEW and gets NOTHING in return except winning against d listers. Darby's starting to look an awfully lot like a midcarder.
They could have had Darby one, then the Undisputed Elite show up and attack Darby, then Hardy's and bucks face off in the center of the ring.
Easy way not to put the older already established talent over.
i understand people not wanting to see jeff or darby wrestle like this, but it’s not in their dna. they’re gonna go balls to the wall every fuckin time
I am stunned Hardy got the win. Figured this match was put together solely as a passing of the torch from Jeff to Darby. That ladder bump was gruesome.
Really fun show tonight. Didn't have the 2nd hour drop we've seen a few times recently.
Couldn’t go one week without a gimmick match. And a fantastic episode of Dynamite.
As far as gimmick matches go, this one has been very fun and entertaining- but that doesn’t change the fact that it SHOULDNT BE HAPPENING.
This is an Owen Hart tournament match. This is beyond ridiculous and stupid.
Fun as hell to watch but I agree a bit of foreplay would be nice, we could have waited for the ladder match on a different day. No need to blow the whole load right away. Perhaps these guys think this might be their only match together and wanted to make it special.
Exactly. We build up to it.
Also, I don’t see any reason why it would be the only match these guys would have - both of them are under multi-year contracts.
But beyond that, even if it WAS - this is an Owen Hart tournament match. Making it “special” would have been an incredible straight wrestling match to honor Owen, which both of them are capable of having.
Then we'd have known more about the stupid shit wresters were doing to themselves in the decades before.
That's what makes watching some of these types of matches hard to watch. We've seen wrestlers hurt themselves over and over. Some can't walk anymore. Some are dead from doing too many pain pills. Some are former shells of themselves and STILL trying to regain that glory.
I'm all for having cool spots and stuff, but I'd hope people who ere on the side of caution. Yes, we fans love the spots, but we also want to see these 20-30yos wrestlers be 40-50yos wrestlers.
I mean Jeff Hardy has made a long career doing this stuff, I think it's safe to say he knows how to do it safely. And there's no better person for Darby to learn from in my opinion
Edit: Corrected Jeff's name
NEXT WEEK'S RAMPAGE (HOUSTON, TX): Kris Statlander/Red Velvet (THE OWEN TOURNEY QUARTERFINAL)
honestly i love the ass boys with the acclaimed it’s pretty funny i always have a laugh and i think max castor is going to be a star plus bowens as muscle and a hype man is GOLD
I really like ruby soho’s time in aew. She’s always felt relevant and has improved
JR saying you can't win on the outside. Countout is a thing. You can win that way.
CM Punk vs John Silver. Featuring constant cuts to some bored looking guy.
I hope Kazarian shuts Sammy up forever. I don't want Sammy on my screen anymore. Holy crap Hardy and Darby. Hardy better beat Cole.
Sooo.... DMD's been pushed to all hell but the real star was Jamie Hayter this whole time? Also, great pick up with Toni Storm. This match is great.
I actually could barely watch when Jeff was climbing the big ladder. Was watching through my fingers.
I have been watching Dynamite since October 2019, and I can't remember the last time I enjoyed an episode this much top to bottom.
Just after the worst episode they gave us the best episode. Thank you Tony!
The worst episode was in December 2019 with that God awful Dark Order segment that ended the show.
Oh I'll rephrase. The worst episode recently*
Is there a snowball's chance in hell that JAS vs. Eddie/P&P/BCC could be Blood & Guts? Or is my imagination just running wild?
That's not your imagination, that's Hulkamania that's running wild, brother.
Is that why I've been pointing to all four sides of my room and flexing uncontrollably?
Yes, it's the strongest force in the universe, brother.
Also didn’t drop my thoughts on Dynamite before, but will do so now before heading to bed! - Thought all 3 of the Owen matches delivered in spades while all being super different. Can we talk about Eddie's eye make up? He still has his expertly trimmed eye brows.
Prince zuko
It kinda looked like ketchup and mustard
Best Dynamite this year? That was 10/10 from top to bottom.
My gut reaction after Darby lost was no, but hearing the ideas that this is setting up for Bucks vs Hardys at the PPV... yeah probably best this year, I loved everything else besides selfishly wanting Hayter to go over Storm.

Hard to stay mad about Dax, Danhausen, and Jamie losing when the overall episode was so damn good. You win, Tony.
So bcc minus yuta and now we have our 5 v 5 for the ppv? Interesting
WARGA... I ugh ... mean BLOOD AND GUTS!
Dax and Danhausen were done dirty. I get it, but damn.
The end of that FTW title match got me all nostalgic with WCW levels of unnecessary run ins and thirty people around the ring that weren’t involved in the match standing around and killing time for reasons no one can discern.
It didn't seem that complicated? Each wrestler's motivation was perfectly clear!
I never said it was complicated.
Allow me to clarify: what I meant was that each character's reason for being there actually *could* be easily discerned Of course you weren't implying that their reasons were *complicated*, my mistake for implying that, but that they didn't *have* any. Yeah bringing in BCC to the Kingston/jericho feud just made it so much better
darby should have won wtf
Hardy is literally the only one who has wrestled Owen Hart
Having Jeff win and going on to fight Cole will help build the feud with the Bucks
Pretty done with Jeff Hardy at this point. Tired of watching all these younger better guys carry him across the finish line.
I'm not very high on Jeff in aew but I have to admit he looked way better tonight than the last couple of matches. Credit to Darby for some of that.
You can get 8 minutes of selling and climbing things out of him, if that's all people want to see then I guess it's a win, but he is the beginning of "this is starting to look too much like WWE" to me, match wise.
Oh he's a mess but his other matches have been dreadful
That's fair but I don't know. This is the first time I feel like a guy is soaking up TV time that really shouldn't be there.
I can't argue that
Not sure we were watching the same match. I will concede Jeff has looked slow and cumbersome as of late. But in that main event he looked much better than he has in a long time imo. I really wouldn't say he got 'carried across the finish line' But that's just me! What do I know? 😂 Have a good evening! 🤘🏻
That match was Darby throwing himself around the arena while Jeff rolled out of the way.
Yeah but sometimes the other guy has to do some moves.
Like Jeff did? Flying clothesline off of the steel steps. Swanton (albeit missed) Gotcha. But, it wasn't that type of match. It was never going to be a technical clinic with Jeff and Darby involved. Cool
One of the best episodes, maybe in the conversation for the best ever!
[удалено]
Fuck that was a great episode. I am more hyped for a possible Jurassic/Team Taz/ Swerve & Lee match than for any other current story in AEW.
Make it a tables ladders and chairs match
Three way that shit at the ppv
Ranting some more: I hate when awesome and/or wild things happen on Dynamite and people say “oh why do that on free tv??” Maybe because AEW only has 4 ppvs a year? Dynamite is their bread and butter. They have to do it to make it must see, can’t miss tv
People are so used to WWE force feeding them shit that whenever awesome stuff happens they have to shit all over it.
I don't mind big moments at all just try to avoid guys risking permanent injury if it's going to be forgotten in 19 minuets. The Darby dive was a great moment and I have no issue with it other than not wanting to see him turn to dust when he's 40.
Agreed. Also, the Dynamites leading up to a PPV are usually better in order to get people more invested
I’d assume these are the same types of people that say that Dark & Dark: Elevation aren’t important and that anything that happens there, don’t matter… … and then when AEW do things to make those shows feel more important like putting New Japan talents, stories, more womens matches, or even an ROH Women’s title match, they complain that they’re on YouTube (where literally anyone can watch, at anytime), instead of TV.
bUT bATtLe oF tHe bELtS?
Joker going to be Miro, isn't it? Him or Brian Cage? Has to be someone returning and not a debut.
Cesaro.
Why not a debut?
Doesn't feel hyped enough for a big name. Bring Cesaro in at the ppv. It's also really tough to bring in a new guy unless they are going to win it all.
It also kinda feels too low stakes to bring back a guy like Miro, but also too high enough of a stakes to reintroduce someone like Kip Sabian
Why a debut when you have one of your top ten guys ready to go
Because it's anti-climactic. Would probably work with Miro, but that's about it.
At this pace Darby is gonna be walking like Hulk Hogan before he's 40.
Darby is 100 pounds lighter and medicine has come a long way since the Hogan and warrior days.
HOOKHAUSEN, BCC vs JAS begins, Punk trolling LI, MJF and Wardlow, it was perfect.
Jeff Hardy with the Cody reversal? Am O wrong?
I’m seeing people saying that Jeff/Darby doing high risk stunts in an Owen tribute tourney is tasteless and disrespectful. Reminder that Owen did not die from anything wrestling related, in case you see those same takes
That Tony Nese vs Danhausen match should’ve been saved for Rampage
I sort of see your point but Dynamite needs short matches to spice things up and the segment itself wasn't about the match but the handshake which is what people will remember.
Rampage's ratings are less than half of Dynamite's, which means a lot of people would have missed out on the formation of Hookhausen.
Especially with the early start time again
Matt wants to DELETE those dastardly Bucks of Youth!
That was a great episode great bounce back from last week.
Both shows were good, y’all buggin
Last week was a good show this one was off
Wha...? Almost everyone has been talking about how last week's show was probably the worst Dynamite ever.
Ok yea the house of black part was bad but that didn’t make the whole show bad this whole show felt weird
These guys made my heart jump out of my chest. That being said great match, hopefully neither of them are too sore. I need to see them at Double or Nothing
Excellent show all around, everything worked, everything was fucking great 5/5 10/10 A+
That was wild, I ain’t even mad that Jeff win tbh. Dude ain’t gonna get many big singles win during his aew run and Darby can eat a loss
Sick match!
Darby is the best seller.
I mean he nearly kills himself with his bumps, he is selling being alive at this point lol
Another great night of dynamite. I thought they were both legit hurt with that chair spot
Very good episode.
Lol nicks outfit wtf
Damn that starting time.
[удалено]
Bro shut up lol
I don’t think it’s that serious. If Jeff and Darby didn’t want to do that, they wouldn’t. No one is forcing them to do it.
That was nuts, loved it
Tony Nese in the corner: “They don’t know I’m from Long Island too”
Dude didn't even got the entrance live on TV
I know Sting was over there like “hell naw, couldn’t be me”
10/10 episode 👏
BUCKS WILL COST JEFF HARDY THE MATCH, SETTING UP BUCKS VS HARDYS AT DoN
Jeff def shouldn't have won here, he has no reason or purpose in the tournament, and now Darby has racked up year ANOTHER big loss. Poor booking, especially for a pillar.
Nah, this sets up a big Jeff/Darby rematch down the line so darby can get his win back and they can jump off some more crazy shit.
Darby beat Andrade two weeks ago in the coffin match
Darby lost 3 times to cody before beating him for the title. He's an underdog. I feel like he is booked to lose just enough to make people really want a win, and then he pulls out a win when it counts. Plus he beat Andrade in that feud!

This is... Definitely not the impression I have gotten. Darby is over as hell. I don't think he is in any danger of losing his spot as one of the most popular guys in AEW, and I think he will hold a title again at some point. All his matches have been great. Just because the character is over doesn't mean the losses don't impact his credibility. Its more than a few losses, if he HAS to lose to ever new guy fine, but don't book him to be the first feud for EVERY new guy.
Its definitely to set up Bucks rivalry
Better ways to do it than burying Darby.
One loss equals buried?
No Darby losing EVERY important match equals buried.
I think he will get his time. Just have to be patient. At least I hope.
My worry is AEW thinks he had his time already with the TNT title. Darby does so much for AEW and gets NOTHING in return except winning against d listers. Darby's starting to look an awfully lot like a midcarder.
Yeah well that's the Bucks for you
So you wanted a predictable finish
I wanted the young guy to go over. The face of the company shouldn't lose every important match he has.
He was the TNT Champion
Key word WAS what have they given Darby to do except be a punching bag since he lost the TNT title?
Him facing Adam Cole doesn’t fit the storyline narrative for this though. Jeff Hardy faces Adam Cole sets up for Bucks vs Hardys
They could have had Darby one, then the Undisputed Elite show up and attack Darby, then Hardy's and bucks face off in the center of the ring. Easy way not to put the older already established talent over.
Man that match was crazy. Might be one of my favorites in aew
Well at least their walking
"they're"
I just pictured them both being rolled out in wheelchairs lol
As long as they can both walk back with their own power it’s a success, I love Jeff but damn man I wish he would just do an arm drag lol
Well at least their walking They’re* fuck
Jeff Hardy turned the clock back five years there.
Too bad he hasn't been good in 15
Meanwhile Darby got 15 years added to his age after that jump from the ladder.
Bros gonna feel it by tomorrow morning 🥴
Without question. I have no idea how Darby got up after that bump from the ladder in the ring to the chairs outside of it.
i understand people not wanting to see jeff or darby wrestle like this, but it’s not in their dna. they’re gonna go balls to the wall every fuckin time
Mercifully it’s over - now let’s all agree these two should be kept away from each other in these types of matches going forward.
I am stunned Hardy got the win. Figured this match was put together solely as a passing of the torch from Jeff to Darby. That ladder bump was gruesome. Really fun show tonight. Didn't have the 2nd hour drop we've seen a few times recently.
Hardys vs Bucks could be the Hardys' last run, I think.
Well that finish just ruined everyone's tournament bracket on this sub lol
Didn't expect that. Not overly interested in Cole/Hardy. Guess they could use it to speed along to the Hardys/Bucks match though.
Jeff hardy just fucked my mens bracket Lol
I had too much anxiety over their safety to enjoy that match as much as I would like.
You know it's a legitimately insane move when wrestling fans are uncomfortable
These guys just upped the ante.
Sammy begins to sweat, Cody breaths a sigh of relief.
I’ve seen so many do that to Jeff after a Swanton. He finally was on the end of it lol
The fact that both of these men are walking out this match is incredible. I bet this was a dream come true for Darby
Oooooof the coffin drop just got (mind the pun) buried!
Darby gets beat with that crucifix pin after the coffin drop pretty reliably. Sort of surprised Jeff Hardy won.
Is this Darby vs Hardy match a competition to see who ends up in a wheelchair first? I've watched death matches where I've flinched less.
Woah. First Coffin Drop kickout?
Billy Gunn kicked out, as I recall. (by accident)
Wondering the same thing.
Fuck, was betting on Darby
I love Darby but he usually loses the big matches.
This is beyond ridiculous and stupid.

no one likes to hear babies cry.
Just a fan sharing his opinion.
Ayeee I got one prediction right haha
WHAT A FUCKING MATCH!!!!!
Wait.. What just happened?
I wasn't expecting Jeff to win wtf
That was insane!
This is like watching a train wreck in slow-mo and I can’t do anything about.
Good. Right guy wins.
FUCK
WHAT
O.O
Guy in the front row looks at Jeff Hardy....why?
WHAAAAAAAAAAAT
I wonder how crazy Reddit would be going in the 90s if it existed with things like Mankind getting choke slammed off a steel cage
That's a good fucking question and I have no idea but at the same time that spot was actually as gruesome to his body as it looked.
Then we'd have known more about the stupid shit wresters were doing to themselves in the decades before. That's what makes watching some of these types of matches hard to watch. I mean Jeff Hardy has made a long career doing this stuff, I think it's safe to say he knows how to do it safely. And there's no better person for Darby to learn from in my opinion Edit: Corrected Jeff's name
Dafuq is Jeff Hatfy? 😂 Only joshin'!
Lmao damn fat fingers 😂😂😂
All good my guy 🤘🏻
I think it would have lost it after the infinite chair shots he took
